Down and feather-filled products are packed tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove them from their packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours to recover their full loft. In addition, being sealed in plastic packaging sometimes causes the scent of these natural products to concentrate to a disagreeable level. A few hours of airing usually removes the odor.
We recommend that this comforter is fluffed at least once a week to maintain down distribution.

I took my time looking for this as I desire cuddly comfort even if the hot, humid climate of here. Now, I do own a synthetic version bought from Target and found it cuddly - knew that part was good - but it just does NOT breathe! This is cotton outside and real down inside: only about 1 1/2" thick which couldn't be any better or I will just get too hot; and I tend to overheat as it is. Bought the Cognac and the color shown is right on, thank goodness! Very classy, neutral color matching my dark wood furnishings as well as the feminine, antique furniture. But this is a NEUTRAL color for any gender, in my opinion and that is what I go for. Washed it with a gentle coconut detergent and air fluffed dry for my personal cleanliness satisfaction - no odors, btw., out of the box. I see a tad of loose threads on one corner but that does not at all worry me. Easy and fast transaction/delivery. Can't beat the price either, from my research. So very, very pleased with myself here on taking my time looking and following through with the order.Read More
I purchased this blanket in a king size and navy color. The delivery time was just a few days. It is very well made and suits my needs nicely. It isn't quite warm enough when outside temps dip into the 30's but will be great in the Spring and Fall as a transition blanket. I can also use it with my down comforter if temps get really cold this winter.Read More
I purchased this blanket for my brother for Christmas. I ordered the King size in Navy and its beautiful and elogant looking. The navy is a deep manly color with the diamond design all over the blanket, which makes it look even better on the bed (spread out). Its a northern night brand of blanket, which is sold on QVC for much more thant the price here on Overstock. Way to go Overstock, keep them coming!!1Read More
This blanket was $45.00 and it came with feathers already come out of it. The stitching is poor quality and is bright white so it stands out really badly which was not at all evident from the picture. I ordered drak green and didn't realize it would have bright white stitching all over it. The stitching is so bad it has extra pieces of thread hanging off that needs to be cut or ripped off. Also the material feels coarse and not as soft as i anticipated for a 300 thread count blanket.Read More
Love this blanket. It is warm yet lightweight. It looks great with that diamond pattern and the touch of satin. I'd highly recommend it to all. I live in the desert and it gets quite chilly at night. It is perfect. When the A/C is on, I'll continue to use it. Best purchase I EVER made of ANY item.Read More
This blanket shed so many feathers that I had to take it off of my bed. Every time I turned around there were feathers all over my bed and floor. I had to vacuume my other blankets and comforter so often that I decided just to take it off of my bed. I won't buy one of these again.Read More
I love the weight of this, the color and the price, but the fabric is a bit stiff. Wish I knew how to wash and soften it.Read More
This is a gorgeous lightweight down blanket. Very classy looking. We ordered the plum. It is a very rich maroon. It is the perfect weight for New Mexico where it rarely freezes but cool enough to want a blanket. We purchased this as a gift for our granddaughter. She loves it. It's 7 months old and still looks perfect. It's light enough to stay on the bed year round. It's soft and smooth and looks upscale, far more costly than it was. This was a good purchase. Wouldn't hesitate to get another or to recommend it to someone.Read More
The color blue is so pretty, dark blue. Problem with white feathers stuck all over the blanket.. Was unable to get them off. Returned. Customer service was so nice it is a pleasure doing business with them.Read More
I find this blanket to be just what I need. I sleep HOT, and this blanket does not overheat me, just keeps me comfortable. I will probably buy in another color so I can switch out my decor.Read More

This color is a very dark blue. The color online is not even close to the actual color. This is a very dark navy blue.
I am not sure if I should get the Italian plum or the corodovan. I need the closest to eggplant. Can you tell me which that would be? Cordovan is usually like a mauve so I am afraid to get that although it looks right in the picture.
Thank you for contacting us keogj. Unfortunately, I do not think either of the colors depicted are close to eggplant. We apologize for any inconvenience we might have caused. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Bed Sheet Thread Count Fact Sheet
The thread count of bed sheets refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. For example, if a square inch of fabric in a 300-thread count sheet with a standard weave were examined closely, 150 vertical threads and 150 horizontal threads would be counted, for a sum total of 300. The higher the thread count, the softer and smoother the sheets will be. Thread count is an important consideration to take when choosing a new set of sheets, but it should not be used as a sole indicator of quality. Equally important in choosing a bed sheet is the type and quality of the materials used as well as the fabric's weave.

Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills.
