The description when I purchased these sheets and at the time of this review shows that the king size flat sheet's measurements are 114" x 102" (hopefully, someone will take notice and update the description--because it is false). This was a huge selling point for me because I am constantly fighting with my husband for the sheet. As soon as I received them I measured the sheet and was disappointed that it didn't match what was advertised, but was instead 108" x 100". I decided it was ok and would wash them up and put them on the bed. When I pulled them out of the dryer the first thing I noticed was the wrinkles. Next thing, the nice slightly "slick" sateen sheen went away when I washed them--they now feel like cardboard, are very rough and uncomfortably stiff. I have been very pleased with the other two sheet sets I have purchased from Overstock--but these are not up to par.
DON"T BUY! We ordered two sets of sheets and have been rotating their use since we purchased them 16 months ago. One set, Hotel Supima 820 Thread Count Sheet Set has become so threadbare, despite washing on gentle cycle, not using bleach, and other guidelines provided when we purchased it, that now the sheets have torn in spots that show extreme wear, even though it's barely been over a year and we rotate sets each week. I am very disappointed in how quickly the sheets wore out. I would have expected a much higher longevity. I don't think you should offer this product to customers if it is not expected to endure basic use. We basically got to use them 9 months solid before they literally fell apart.
So far, it met my expectations. We own a B&B and linens are quite a challenge. I did a lot of research, because I wanted the sateen look. It helped that there was a discount, and the reviews were pretty good. I washed it first, ironed it and it looks great on the bed. No hanging threads, it kept its form and I will write again after a couple of months.
These sheets, which nicely fit my queen sized bed, are such a horrid quality. Within one week, the seam on one of the pillow cases had come apart. Since then, two tears have appeared on the fitted sheet. I am a senior citizen and use a memory foam mattress topper. I don't jump on the bed or do any sort of "gymnastics" if you will. To have these sheets form two tears as if they sheets were years old and worn out is unacceptable. Especially since they are still so new.
I am always nervous buting sheets that I can't touch first. You just can't tell how thick or soft they willtruly be. I did research on line about thread counts and types of sheets and felt very comfotable buying a supima sheet and 820 is great. These sheets are the thickest and softest that I have ever owned. I have paid a lot more for sheets that had higher thread counts but were not nearly as good. They are high quality and a great value.
I always had a hard time trying to find " the right sheets" for my bed. I have spent a small fortune to say in the least on high end very expensive and ones that I ran across at TJ's getting a deal. With that being said.....these sheets are fabulous! They were thicker than I expected but I washed them the second time and they did get softer and with each washing they are perfect now and the quality it wonderful. Supima is the QUALITY I will buy and expect from now on. There truly is a difference.
This is the first set of sheets we have owned with such a high thread count. And boy, are they nice! We joked about how noisy they were when moving around in them, but now we joke about how hard it is to get out of bed in the morning! They are very comfortable and durable. I'm already considering another set.
they weight a ton...so heavy and very scratchy...they are not supima sheets like I get at bed bath and beyond...they were a little cheaper than the good ones but they will sit in my linen closet as I will never sleep on them.. so do not buy....
