There is no better down than white goose down...and sure enough, this does it! The comforter is well constructed, sturdy stitching to hold the down within the squares. We are very satisfied and will be ordering another one for my son and his new bride!
This comforter is deceptively slim for the surprising level of warmth it provides! It is not for you if you want the fluffy "look," but it is perfect for someone who wants to get a good night's sleep without layers of blankets on top. It REALLY does a great job of keeping you warm.
I have owned this exact product for 7 years, I am amazed it is still available. Here are my thoughts: Pros: It has a good amount of fill and seems to be made of good quality materials. Very little down has escaped from the comforter over 7 years. The first year was heaven. Cons: It doesn't have a true baffle design. A true baffle design would fully enclose each "pocket" and down shift would be almost zero, occasional fluffing would help distribute the down within the "pockets". HOWEVER, the baffle construction used does NOT fully enclose each pocket and down does and will shift A LOT. I fluff regularly and it has almost entirely shifted to the edges, the majority of the comforter has no fill at all and has massive cold spots. The amount of work involved to redistribute the down through the openings between pockets is EXTREME and very frustrating. I cannot for the life of me understand why a true baffle design has not been used here. This comforter does not have a low price tag either, so spend your money elsewhere as this comforter is not a good investment. Considerations: I have not washed this comforter yet (no spill in 7 years, yay!) and keep it protected using 2 duvets, first a cheap white duvet and then a second seasonally appropriate (flannel or sateen cotton) duvet.
I wanted to invest in a good/great comforter for our new master bedroom, this down comforter does not dissapoint. I purchased a king size bed which is on a platform, the corners of this comforter hang slighty over the corners with or without the duvet. I don't need to constantly "shake" the comforter to ensure there is not "blank" spots due to waffle boxing that ensures the down stays in place. Great investment, and we are so happy with it.
I just received the comforter yesterday and used it last night. It kept me very warm. However, I, like screen name "****" was irritated in that there were no identifying labels and tags on this product. No thread count and fill power amounts. It makes me wonder if, in fact, this is actually what you all say it is. If in the next 30 days I see a difference, I'll write again.
Everything else I have ordered for Christmas this year from Overstock has so far been great - and I was holding my breath after reading all the negative comments bout Overstock...but after reading about the owner, I figured that many of these comments were from his enemies - he seems like a pretty smart man, and he's cute. Anyway, this is not a good down comforter at all - no way is it the advertised loft, it is flat and poorly constructed. So I'm sending it back. Sadly, a similar one exactly described as this at Penny's on sale during cyber week is running about ***.** for a queen size. Unfortunately, I can't afford it....and I thought I was beating the corporates with this purchase. Oh well, but I'm not giving up on Overstock. Maybe Patrick will pull this sale down or at least reduce the price drastically to like about 25 dlls. ??? (c;
I did a lot of research on down before I bought this comforter. The stitching is strong, it's soft and fluffy to the touch but it's filled with some of the best down in the world. It's genuine goose down rather than the average cheap duck down from China. It also has a good fill count that will keep you nice and warm at night. I bought the twin/queen size and it hangs over both sides of our bed. I would definitely recommend this anyone looking for something comfortable and warm. Great value and quality.
Cover was nice and well made, but some of the baffle blocks was empty and some had only a little amount of down in them, so we are sending it back. I didn't want to get another one after seeing this one, so we requested a refund. We were really disappointed with this comforter.

I love the comforter, it is thick and warm the fabric is thick and does not appear to let feathers shed out. The baffles appear to be good construction so far the feathers haven't shifted to the sides of the comforter like most do. The only issue I have is that when it came in the mail there were no tags on the plastic tote bag it came in to indicate it was what I paid for (no thread count and fill power amounts) the tags on the actual comforter also gave no indication of thread count or fill ounces so I have no idea if it actually what they said it was. It is still a great comforter as far as I can tell. We have only had it about a month. the fabric is a bit stiff but I am sure that will loosen with some use. The fabric is a bit itchy so I am glad we use duvet covers as my duvets are soft fabric plus it keeps the comforter clean as well. I would buy it again but am hesitant due to the cost and that there were no tags proving it was what I paid for.
I bought this Comforter in 2006. Truly worth every dime. I've had it for 8 years and it is in as good condition as I bought it. Easily washable (if you have a large capacity washer & dryer). Fluffs perfectly in dryer. I have bought many duvet covers to protect it and to easily change the color of my bedding. Very warm. You will need nothing else on your bed. This may be too warm for some. I live in Maryland now, and pretty much have to kick it down to the end of the bed. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this comforter.
The size was not exact. We had a duvet for our king size bed and needed to fill it better. We looked for the size to be a little longer and wider, and this one advertised that it was. It fell a little short in the width than advertised. Quality seems good, it doesn't seem to shift. It is a little to warm at times since it is not winter here in Calif. It is quite comfy though. I'm sure, come winter, we will appreciate it more. Overstock's products on the whole are always good quality from our recent experience. We have ordered a lot from them, having just moved into a new home.
Some of the reviews I read on this comforter had me worried that I would get a lemon. I have owned comforters in the past and I did a lot of research before I ordered this one. I checked price, type of down, thread count and weight of down that was in the blanket. This one was just as it was advertised. It fluffed up right out of the package and has stayed that way in spite of having a bedspread over it. You can hardly feel it on yourself, but the amount of warmth it provides will keep you warm no matter what your room temperature is my wife likes to keep ac going all night. The price was about one quarter the cost of all the other ones I looked at in department stores an other online company's and I waited for a 15% off coupon from overstock. I made one mistake when ordering, I bought a king size for a queen size bed and because it is oversize nit hang over the sides to much. If u have a queen bed order the queen and I'm sure u will have plenty of blanket. By the way mine had exactly the labels it was supposed to have.
