Hotel Grand Milano 800 Thread Count Hungarian White Goose Down Comforter

I have had this comforter for a over a year. It looks and feels beautiful but after about a month the down started coming out in large quantities. I have dark carpeting and its everywhere just from making the bed. The down has started to migrate so its not fluffy everywhere but the biggest problem is all those feathers. Not for those with allergies. Even when its in 2 duvet covers ( a thick cotton one and a silk one over) a lot of feathers still come out. I would not recommend it to anyone.

The baffles aren't completely sown so the down shifts. I hate this as it creates work for me to try to get it where I want it...it's the very problem I'm having with my current comforter. So this one will go back to Overstocks.com and I'll continue the hunt for a baffle box comforter that is truly a baffle box with no shifting. Frustrating and maddening! I feel deceived as nowhere in the descriptions did it say "partial baffle", just baffle box design. Perhaps if I'd read the reviews first I might have realized....

Okay, so this was my first time purchasing from Overstock. My friend said to read the reviews prior to purchasing, but I thought perhaps that I would get lucky with this comforter. Not so...Overall, my experience with Overstock has been fantastic, but the comforter I ordered was nothing more than what the previous reviews said - do not purchase this comforter!! It was shipped on 10/21/06 and I received it on 10/25/06 (FAST SHIPPING). As soon as I took the comforter out of the box I saw an area of stitching coming undone, and there were two boxes that had very little down. Buy from Overstock, but do NOT buy this comforter!!!!!!!!

This is an exceptionally warm comforter. I bought it for a weekend cabin in the mountains. When we arrive on Friday nights, the interior is around 30 degrees and it takes overnight to warm up. The wood stove heats the living area well, but hits the bedroom last. This comforter keeps us toasty warm! It fluffed out beautifully with no smell and the fabric shell is beautiful. My only concern is that the run of interior baffles along the head and the foot of the comforter (none in-between) have about a 2 inch "sewing" gap (for the entire length) which may likely lead to some down shifting along the 2 edges over time. I figured that rather than returning it, I would work with it since in every other way it was what I wanted. My other concern had to do with information shipped with the product (or rather the lack thereof!). The comforter arrived in a box, in a zipped bag, with absolutely no identifying information other than the tag attached to the comforter indicating "at least 75% goose down." No product name (Milano), no information sheet...nothing! Maybe everything comes from Overstock this way....but I think not!. So...I am taking a chance on both Overstock and the comforter. So far (about a month) for the comforter, it has worked out well. FYI - this is not a comforter for a mild climate.
