I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to purchase this duvet cover set b/c I wasn't sure what quality it would really be for the low price. Boy was I mistaken. I thought it had a great price point compared to what I had seen online at other stores, but thought it might be too good to be true. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package. It was a very high quality duvet cover. I got the teal and white and it goes perfect on my bed. The shape of the disign is very nice and lays very attractively on the bed. The fabric is soft and of high quality. It's not thin and flimsy. Feels like what you would expect to get in a $300 duvet cover, not one that was only about $50. I had to iron it when I first took it out of the wrapping, which I expected, but it hasn't wrinkled at all since that time. If you are on the fence about whether to get this or not, I recommend it highly. Jump over that fence and make that purchase. You won't be regretting it. I am very happy with the purchase and quite frankly, would buy another one if I had a bed to put it on, but I don't really need it.
Outline on the duvet only goes around 3/4 of the way around instead of a full square around the duvet. It is thin, so if you have a decorated comforter underneath it will show. It is soft, however. I now have this tucked away in my drawer since I purchased the *** version which was $200 total for the duvet and shams. I think this was $$$ I am not happy with this purchase and it is was a waste for me, unfortunately. I am 1 for 4 regarding purchases on this website :/ I need to be more discerning. I hope this helps.
I bought a duvet from the same brand (threadcount was 315), and it was amazing. Good quality and very attractive. This one is horrible. Very thin material. I wanted to return it but paying for S+H wasnt worth it, so I'm stuck with it now. Do NOT recommend at all.
I purchased it because I liked the clean, simple design, and the sewn-on border. Yes, I am aware that it was dirt-cheap, so I wasn't expecting super high quality. When I got my first order, however, a large chunk of the band (about 12") was not even attached to the comforter. The sides of the navy blue fabric were fraying, so there was no way to attach it to the white comforter, even if I wanted to do so myself. In addition, there were loose strings EVERYWHERE! I mean, it would be difficult to have it more "hairy" with strings. I returned the set due to the foot of mis-sewn border on the comforter, and Overstock was wonderful about it. They sent me a replacement almost immediately, which I got in a couple of days. That set, too, has tons of "string hairs." You either have to cut them short (who knows how long it will be before they unravel!) or attempt to knot them, then cut the spare string. I spent about two hours trying to do this and finally decided to let it be. I have washed it once (as soon as I got it), but I have no clue how long it will actually last. My guess is, not long. If you can find an alternative, I'd recommend it; otherwise, be prepared for a poorly-constructed product!
attractive but poor quality. trim on both the cover and pillowcases had many dangling threads, creating a less than ideal appearance when viewed closely. i purchased this because i was limited in choice for a california king. another set purchased for a queen sized bed was far superior.
I honestly didn't think this duvet would be that soft considering it was only 300 thread count, but they were so soft and luxurious straight out of the package! I ordered the black/grey option and it is beautiful. A few stray strands of thread coming off of the stripe, but that's to be expected. Trim them off, and it looks and feels like you spent 10x the amount!
I received this duvet set yesterday and cannot wait to put it on the my two kids twin beds in their room. I purchased this as an alternative to the similar one on Pottery Barn kids that was $80 just for the duvet...this one is much more affordable at $** for the duvet and sham set. The stripe is supposed to be navy blue but looks more black....i will have to see what it looks like once on their beds. I was disappointed that this set is not authentic hotel collection...its made it india, but claims to be italian....has a cheap sticker on the outside of the plastic casing that says Hotel Collection. But the plus side is that the fabric is very soft and cozy. The kids will love sleeping in their new beds...overall a good value for the money!
Wow!! is all I can say. This cover is the best. I bought this for my son's room and it is holding up to a beat down from a teenage boy. The feel is the best and I have had to wash it twice and both times, came out wonderful. I am thinking of buying another one in a different color as a back up, just in case I can't find one next year.
This duvet cover is nothing like you would see at Pottery Barn for example. The quality is no comparison at all. The fabric is a soft thermal cotton like is the best way to describe it. The pottery barn version is a crisp cotton feel....I know because I have both. It's still nice but not sure how long it will last. Don't get me wrong it's decent, just not high quality.
