I bought a set of these sheets several years ago on here and loved them so much that I recently bought another set. While they are described as being "sateen" they are not shiny nor slippery. They are just high quality (400 t.c.) and very comfortable and durable. And the price for a 400 thread count sheet set is incredible in it's value.
These sheets are very nice and I love them in the chocolate color. For the price, I am very pleased. I have had no issues with washing and drying them. They come out fine every time. Having said that, I really wish they were softer. I have had sheets with a lesser thread count that are softer than these, but still find them to be a good value and nice selection of colors.
I love the color but found it has faded a bit with washing and the fitted sheet looks a bit "pilly'" or fuzzy. I have only washed them two or three times. It could be because of the dark color that I am seeing this but I dont' know. They are soft and don't really wrinkle out of the dryer and no one but us sees the bottom sheet so it is okay for the money but if I had paid more I would be upset.
I have since 'upgraded' from the 150 - 250 count sheets and haven't looked back. I've found that the quality and representation of these particular pillow cases and my previous purchases to be excellent. I will continue to look for deals on this web site.
When these sheets arrived, they appeared to be very soft and I loved the color (I had the willow ones). After the first washing, I noticed that they were showing wear in several spots. When we went to put the sheets back on the bed after the first washing, the seams on the corners began to split. Now after the third washing, all the corners are torn. DO NOT BUY.
I'd recently purchased another set of (Overstock) higher thread count sheets and they are of very good, almost "heavy-duty" quality (a good weight for cooler fall nights), but turned out to be somewhat scratchy. The top sheet was actually even "noisy" when pulled up, folded back, etc. and the pillow cases are now used for show or last-minute, "emergency" use only -- they're way too rough for a night of side-sleeping, face-pillow case contact. Now, this sateen cotton sheet set is soft, more lightweight than the first and not sized as generously as the previous set, but absolutely soft and wonderful for face-pillow case contact and a night of quiet cover-adjusting. I knew I couldn't go wrong with the ivory color; it's pretty and complements the comforter and valance colors.
My husband and I were both really happy with the look and feel of these sheets when we first put them on the bed. I was planning to buy more. However the first time we washed them the texture completely changed and they now feel and look like inexpensive sheets. It took them about two washings to start to pill. On the up side they fit well.
The sheets are a beautiful feel and color, but after 1-1/2 weeks on the bed I was putting all the corners back on. You know the sheets start to slide and you pull them tight. Well, I pulled one corner tight and the whole thing ripped right up the seam. I've been making beds for many, many years and that has never happened to me. I do not consider these sheets to be well made.
