Like some other reviewers, I was kind of creeped out at first by the stamped diagonal squares rather than a traditional gingham weave. Felt it was too much trouble to return, and since my cat sleeps on it all day I figured I could use an inexpensive cover. I was surprised to find how much I liked it after it was washed and on the bed. It's soft, not all wrinkly out of the dryer, and I really really like it. I'm considering ordering another for back up if the cat rips it up. Would definitely recommend it based on quality for the price. Also my husband prefers it to the more girly covers I have. It's less neutering than a floral print.
I am happy with the quality of the duvet cover itself. I like the small classic check pattern but don't care for the side of large checks.. not a restfull pattern for a bedroom. The pillow shams are bad... extremely flimsy and too wide... they don't fit a standard pillow shape and I cannot use them.
When I ordered the duvet set I was looking for a gray gingham. I thought I had found it but when I received it in the mail every other "check" was not a solid gray but little stripes. I know that doesn't make sense and I wish I could submit a picture. To me, a true gingham pattern has no pattern or breaks in the blocks/check that make up the pattern, this does. It wouldn't stop me from ordering at Overstock. Great customer service and wonderful prices. It just wasn't what I was expecting.
I bought two of these for a guest room for kids at the beach. I love that they are cotton ! ( hard to find these days ! ) I got the brown or khaki color even though I love blues. I am pairing it with light blue sheets and walls.. It is a beachy theme, blues and sand ... Put them on the comforters. Looks awesome with blue sheets. Also, you can flip the duvet and show the smaller checks which is a nice change.... Added shams with a blue backround and brown surfboards.. Looks fantastic !
