This rod is so beautiful and the bronze color is so rich. The rod seems to be metal. The finials, on the other hand, are plastic. Overstock sells the rod by itself, as well. However, I strongly recommend to buy the hook set to match the rod. Together they look more sophisticated. This rod is easy to be adapted. My bathroom is really old, 1950s. Even though I couldn't install the rod as a tension rod, the installation was a breeze.

This shower rod and hook set was as beautiful in person as it was on the website. It perfectly matched the rubbed bronze fixtures we purchased for our renovation. Telescoping to fit the space without extra hardware made it easy to install.

The rod doesn't stay in place, constantly adjusting, and the ring holders ALWAYS come off the rod when I open the shower curtain. The only reason it got two stars instead of one is because it's pretty.

This shower curtain rod and hook set arrived very quickly. When I took the hooks out of the package, one of the plastic accents (the ivory part in the middle) fell right off immediately. I glued it back on with super glue and you can't tell the difference now, but I was dissapointed with the quality. The metal looks more like copper than bronze to me; it is much more orangey-gold than it looks in the picture. However, the rod seems sturdy and the set looks nice in our bathroom.
