What is the Down/Feather ratio?
I was hesitant on getting the pillows, because everyone was complaining about the smell or it not staying fluffed. Truthfully there wasn't much of a smell out of box, the faint smell cleared out in a few hours, not sure what the big hype was over that. After getting up, I simply refluff the pillows, no big deal. The pillows are extremely soft, to the point you need to stack both pillows on top of each other if you sleep on your back. If you're on your belly or side, it's great to sleep on one and use the other for your body. Honestly for the price, they're great pillows....

Down and feather-filled products are packed tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove them from their packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours to recover their full loft. In addition, being sealed in plastic packaging sometimes causes the scent of these natural products to concentrate. A few hours of airing usually removes the odor.
We recommend that this pillow is fluffed at least once a week to maintain down distribution.

I received my pillows very promptly, so no arguments with Overstock or their processing methods. The problem was that I ordered firm pillows, however one pillow was fully stuffed and the other was not. Anyone familiar with down pillows can understand how frustrating this is. Maybe a pillow from a different category was mistakenly placed with my order, I don't know. Regardless, I was disappointed. The pillow that was fully stuffed was nice, but it didn't have that luxury hotel feel I was looking for, so I believe the description was slightly misleading. It was never clear the exact ratio of down to feathers in these pillows, and the manufacturer's tags on them further muddied that question. The covers that came with the pillows were very nice, and I wish I hadn't had to send those back as well! My suggestion to anyone looking to buy this product is to really shop around. These pillows are certainly decent for the price (if they send you the right product), but if you're looking for something more akin to what you would sleep on in, say, a Marriot, keep looking - these aren't it. Best of luck!Read More
These pillows are hard and uncomfortable. I was hoping for a soft, malleable pillow to sink into and these definitely do not fit the bill.Read More
I'm very satisfied with these pillows. They are fluffy but firm and seem well-stuffed with feathers.Read More
The pillows still smell funky after several months of use, lots of airing and lavender spritzing which doesn't even faze the odor. Protective cover is nice quality but the pillows aren't so hot, the piping is mediocre. You get what you pay for and next time I'll come off some cash. For the price they're barely adequate.Read More
I really like these pillows. They are soft and conform to your head while you sleep but can easily be fluffed back into shape when you make the bed.Read More

Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills. How to Wash Throw Pillows
Part of keeping a clean house is making sure all of your decorative accessories are clean. Throw pillows covered in delicate fabrics, such as wool or silk, will have to be dry-cleaned, as will throw pillows stuffed with down or feathers. Foam-filled throw pillows with cotton covers or other washable materials, however, can be washed -- some even by machine. Nevertheless, even if a pillow appears washable, always consult the washing instruction label before attempting to wash a throw pillow -- or you may be in for an unpleasant surprise when you remove the pillow from the washing machine.
