When I first bought these a few months ago, I was thrilled with the quality and firmness. But in about 90 days, they've just kind of lost their loft and are just soft and floppy now. Sure, I can puff them up and they look pretty, but the minute I put my head down it starts going flat. I blame myself, I believed the hype on these and while they're not bad pillows, they just aren't wildly different from any other down pillow. I'd recommend these only to those not looking for a firmer/more supportive pillow.
These pillows are a steal at this price. I was looking to replace some of my old Eddie Bauer down pillows that I've had for years, but I was unhappy at their high prices and limited choices. I looked around and found these. I am a serious pillow person. I have 6 to 8 on my bed, and I read in bed most nights. I also take a pillow while travelling because a bad hotel pillow can ruin my sleep. This is a GOOD pillow: Medium firm, with a good loft, yet your head can sink in. When they arrived I was a bit worried because there were down bits around the outside when I took the covers off the wash, but I haven't had any problems with the down or feathers leaking. The covers are a nice bonus, and they make slipping these into pillowcases a breeze. I'm ordering a few more sets. Highly recommend these.
Ordered a set of (2) of these about a month ago. I paid over $70 for the pair. They do not provide the support nor keep their shape like the advertisement said. Actually, today I am going to try to cut both of them open along a seam and take some filling out of one and put it in the other just so I can have ONE good pillow. What a waste of money!
I bought these based on the fabulous reviews online. I do agree that the quality if very good. However when they came, they were extremely heavy and firm. It is a hard balance with down to find one that does not go flat but is supportive. These over did it. I want a little give which is the beauty of down. These almost felt like a poly fill pillow.
Okay let me get the specifics out of the way - I don't know how the numbers for the pillow composition are compiled, but here are the stats from the label: "Inner chamber 83% Duck feather & down (95% feather 5% down) Outer chamber 17% down (Min 75% down) I hope that makes sense to you - it doesn't to me. But what counts is the comfort. The moment I pulled these out of the box, I knew I got what I wanted.. These pillows feel LUXURIOUS. They have the right amount of heft and you cannot tell there is an inner chamber (this was a concern of mine). This is one plump pillow that feels like what I would imagine a much more expensive pillow to feel like. Forget about what is inside and go to sleep.
All in all, these are a nice set of pillows. No smell, no lumpiness, they aren't too flat, no need to refluff and the extra outer case is an added bonus. I would say these are of medium firmness which is nice because they're not too soft and not too firm which is hard to find with down pillows. At the end of the day, they're a great addition to my pillow collection.
I love feather pillows, but when they go flat I would get a headache by morning. So I tried these out for a solution. They take a bit of getting used to as you can feel the inner chamber. So the feeling is kinda odd, but it isn't unpleasant. They are pretty comfortable and don't squish down like a normal feather pillow.
These pillows are very comfortable. With my previous pillow, I had trouble getting comfortable and sometimes woke up with a stiff neck. Since I started using this triple chamber pillow, I no longer have trouble falling asleep due to pillow discomfort. If the pillow does not seem right, I turn it over and fluff it up and it is perfect! The price was reasonable too!
I have found these Famous Maker 500 thread count Egyptian Cotton Triple Chamber Pillow with Protector Cover set (2) to be extremely nice, excellent quality. It is exactly as described, with the down used in the outer layer, making it very soft feeling, and no quills to stick you. The pillow ticking is superb. The end zippered damask sateen pillow protectors are also superb, heavy 100% cotton. I wish they sold them separately. I am 6' 2" 300 lbs., with a proportionately sized head, and can say that these pillows do not lose their loft. No need to scrunch it up under your head or neck. When I side sleep, I do not need to squeeze the ends together to make it taller under my head/neck. Stomach sleeping has also worked by moving my arms to the outside of the pillow, no longer needing them under the pillow for added height like with my old feather/down pillows. They are slightly heavier feeling, thanks to the 35 oz. fill, and quality cotton fabric. I'm very happy to have purchased these chambered pillows. Highly recommended for those who want a soft but firmer feather/down pillow.
