Product Reviews for:
4.1 out of 5They sheets were ok for awhile, but after a couple of washes, those little fuzz balls started to appear and won't go away. I hate that. They did look great and matched my bed set perfectly. I don't think I'll buy this particular brand again. Nevertheless, Overstock.com is still a great place to shop. I've bought numerous things from the website.
The sheets looked beautiful and were very soft, until I washed them. They lost the silky look and feel. I washed them according to the directions before using them and I was very disappointed in the quality. I would not recommend them.
I bought 3 sets of sheets 6 months ago and alternate them evenly. Two sets were from a national retailer and the other set was these Egypyian Cotton 600 sheets which were the highest thread count and the best bargain. On average they have been washed 8 times and slept on for a total of 2 months. The bottom sheets have pilled and are absolutely uncomfortable. The pillow cases are beginning to pill as well. In addition, these are the most difficult sheets to iron as hard wrinkles set-in, even if pulled directly from the dryer. The pillow-cases are difficult to iron and impossible to fold properly since they were sewn "out of square" -- even though there are only 2 seams!!! I noticed the label states that these sheets were "made in Egypt" which verifies the claim to be Egyptian sheets. A website about Egyptian Cotton states "The more you wash the fibers the more our product will relax and the SOFTER they will become." I'm not sure that pilling is part of the softening process. These sheets are now out of the cycle with the other 2 sets which have not shown the same wear charcteristics. The Egyptian Cotton sheets will be reserved for guests who stay too long.
I was really having a hard time looking for sheets to go with my lavender/tan bedroom---without breaking my pocketbook. It was a toss up between these and another set---I'm so glad I purchased these. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality, color, softness and as an added bonus, it MATCHED the duvet cover I purchased awhile back on the "O". I did not realize this as the color on my monitor did not show all the details that are great on this set. I put them in the washer--on COLD WATER, DELICATE --NO FABRIC SOFTNER--(was told that is what can make sheets 'pill'--you know, those nasty little pieces of threads that stick up and are very scratchy) and then into the dryer on low heat. Came out Perfect--no Fading, Pilling, Shrinking. They are so soft and elegant looking. The people that leave bad reviews probably don't know about the washing of these kind of sheets---I admit in the past, that I would use fabric softner and they would come out all 'pilled' and scratchey. The fabric softner 'messes' with the threads somehow in the sateen sheets. Anyway--just a little tidbit of info for all you out there that end up with paying alot of $$$$ and your sheets end up 'pilling'. Paid a little more than I wanted too, but so much worth it---and still a lot cheaper than any department store. Get these sheets and watch how you lauder them---you will be very pleased. Love ya, "O".
These sheets are worth every penny. They are very inexpensive compared to what you would buy retail from a store. Go with these non-sateen finish sheets. They do not pill up like the sateen sheets do. They launder well and feel great. I am going to pick up another set so get yours before I do.
Excellent sheets for a reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to treat themselves to sheets that do not "pill" and make you feel as if you're spending the night in a luxury hotel. These would also be a thoughtful and much appreciated gift.
Though the sheets are visually beautiful, they are not as soft as lower count sheets (4oo) I have purchased in the past. They were therefor somewhat of a dissapointment.
I have been thrilled with most of my purchases from Overstock. These sheets are a great dissapointment. I have had them less than one year, they are the alternate sheets I don't use as often and I am very dissatisfied. They are rough, the threads are coming out of the sheets, they don't look great and seem to be of very poor quality. I am mortified since I have given these sheets as gifts in the past and no longer wonder why the receipients have never commented about how nice they are. It is well worth the money to go for the 1000 thread count. Don't be fooled by the high thread count. NOT SOFT AT ALL
I would never recommend buying these sheets for the following specific reasons: 1) If you have a deep mattress, they will NOT fit, even though the false advertizing says they will fit up to 18". Let's do the math. My queen mattress/box spring set I also bought on Overstock, and the mattress is 16" deep. The dimensions of this queen flat sheet are 90" x 102". A queen mattress is 60" wide. Add to that 16" x 2 to go over the sides of the mattress and you have 92". Not only can you not tuck in the flat sheet, but it's 2" too short...and that's with only a 16" deep mattress and never yet being washed! Imagine if you did have an 18" deep mattress, as they CLAIM these sheets fit! 2) But that's not all...the fitted sheet at 60" x 80" WILL fit my mattress (including the mattress pad), but the elastic is so poor, that there is no snug fit! 3) The appearance and fabric quality are also poor. My sheets had several small snags and loose threads right when I opened the package, not even having used them or washed them. Definitely don't waste your money on these sheets. Find a local retailer where you can actually LOOK at the sheets first and determine their quality.
The sheets are beautiful..... after the first wash they did fell very nice. They fit my queen sized be nicely as well. However after a few washes the bottom sheet has started to ball and fuzz.... which is really iritating! And the pillowcase have started to rip at the seams.... I doubt I will buy sheets online again!
I BOUGHT 600 COUNT FROM OVERSTOCK BEFORE AND IT WAS GREAT, BUT THIS TIME IT'S TORRIBLE. THIS SHEETS ARE VERY POOR QUALITY. ON TOUCH IT FEELS MORE LIKE 150 COUNT! I WASHED IT 5 TIMES AND IT'S STILL VERY ROUGH!
Worried at first, because they weren't all that soft, but after a few washes... Perfect!!!
I bought these sheets with very high expectations. I have a set of Egytian cotton 500 thread count that I bought at a department store on sale.- which I LOVE. While the department store sheets were a bit more expensive, I feel their quality is far superior to the sheets I bought on Overstock. The sheets I purchased were not as soft as my other ones and they seemed to lack that decadence that I've come to associate with my store bought set. Overall, I was a bit disappointed. On a positive note, the color was exactly what I wanted.
This is the first time I have ordered sheets from Overstock. I had been advised by a close friend to consider a high thread count fabric. I decided to purchase the sheet set and I was totally amazed by the excellent quality of the fabric, the softness and silk like sheen. The sheet fabric was very sturdy and feels like it would last forever. I am very happy with the purchase and am considering buying a couple more sets.
Reading other reviews I was a little sketched to make my first purchase at the "O". I read how the mocca wasn't really mocca and the corners of the fitted sheet would ball up after a few washes. After trying the sheets out myself, I am glad I overlooked the negative reviews. I ordered the gold sheets and overall I am very happy with them. They aren't as soft as real 600 TC sheets, they wrinkle easy, and I'm not to crazy about the design, but elsewise they are perfect for thier price. I haven't had any balling up yet or color fading, but I have only washed them once. I suggest washing them in cold water delicate cycle without softener. Then dry them with a Bounce fabric sheet, and remove them promptly once the dryer is done. As with any overstock purchase, don't expect to get the best quality in the world. These products are sold here because they didn't sell in stores. Obviously there is going to be a reason why they didn't sell.
I bought this set in Mocha. After just two washings it has discolorations. I washed them in cold water with NO bleach. They have started to come apart at the seams and the fitted sheet has started balling up. Very disappointed. I had read the reviews before I purchased and they were good so I don't know what happened to my set. Of course, you can't return them because it doesn't usually show until Os return policy is past. Getting very frustrated with purchases I have made.
All Egyptian cotton sheets or cloth are usually a bit stiff (until they are washed about 10 times) compared to fine standard cotton 400 and up. . And the sheets should last for years..Thats why 200 ct Egyptian cotton is usually a better deal than say 300 and sometimes 400 standard cotton.and will outlast it by about 5 times!
I just re-did my bedroom and bought 2 sets of sheets. I like this set almost as well as the 800 count set. They're slightly crisper to the feel, but very luxurious and easy to turn over in bed. Te colors are true, and they wash well. I'm glad I read the advice against using dryer sheets to prevent pilling. I expect to enjoy them a long time!
I love this Egyptian Cotton Stripe 600 Thread Count Sheet Set.
the fitted sheet is a bit snug. It doesn't quite fit all the way down and around the corners of the mattress. It fits around well enough, so we're keeping this set.The material has great quality. The sheets are thick and becoming softer with each wash. Some have commented about wrinkles. Yes, of course they come out of the dryer wrinkled--- they're cotton!!!
