Pros: Looks gorgeous, thick fabric, quality stitching Con: Thread Count I highly question whether or not this duvet cover is truly 600 thread count. I purchased a set of 450 thread count sheets around the same time as this duvet cover and they are MUCH softer. Based on the thickness of the fabric and visual comparison, I am assuming that these covers are actually 300 double ply thread count. So this cover isn't as soft as I hoped, but it is much more durable than expected. Overall, this set is still softer than most and it definitely achieved the look I desired for my bedding. For that reason I would recommend this product but I would advise those purchasing solely on the thread count to be cautious! Also, do not leave this cover in the dryer after the load stops because it will wrinkle very quickly!

great sheets!
 from Oklahoma,  Jul 28, 2006

You simply tumble dry these using softener sheets and take them out as soon as they are done, as many people have said about other high end sheets on this site. My picky picky husband loves these!

After Washing
from Fresno, CA,  Oct 9, 2007

The duvet was very soft when freshly out of the package, however after washing it (gently cycle, and low heat) it became very stiff and felt more like a 200 thread ct duvet. I will not purchase from this brand again and would not recommend a purchase from this brand to a friend. Plus, the beige looks more like the gold.

Impressive
from Arlington, VA,  Jun 26, 2007

I purchased this duvet to cover a very dark, colorful comforter with crazy patterns, colors, and textures. Even with an IVORY duvet, nothing shows through and it looks beautiful.

Great quality, but . . .
 from MT,  Jun 3, 2007

The duvet is made from what appears to be high-quality cotton. However, it is a a few inches larger than stated. It has been washed now 4 times and dried completely, trying to shrink-to-size; but it is still about two inches longer than stated and my standard comforter. Also, the Queen duvet came with King-sized pillow shams. They needed to be altered to use.

Lots of snags and fabric flaws
from Seattle, WA,  Jun 1, 2007

I've purchased a lot - A LOT - of bedding materials from Overstock for my house and condo. This is really the only item that has been a disappointment to me from them. It has several snags in it and lose threads. Pretty disappointed in this item.

Sooooooo Cuddly
from San Diego County, CA,  Apr 28, 2007

This duvet cover is so soft. I love the the feel and the color and the way it fits on my new comforter plus now my bed looks so comfortable like the kind you might see at the Marriott or some fancy Bed & Breakfast...kind of romantic looking. I also like the fact that the duvet cover came with shams to match. The color is true to what you see on line and I love the softness of the light blue color. After looking several places for both the comforter and duvet cover/shams, this was the best price and the best quality.

Laundry
Anonymous  from San Francisco, CA,  May 27, 2006

This item appears wonderful until the items is washed, I found this item had to be sent to a cleaners to properly be laundered. Regardless of what I did this item had to be professionaly pressed at a cleaners at about $20 each time.

Comfort
 Dec 3, 2010

Comforter is a good buy, warm, filling seems evenly distributed, etc. Noticed after I washed the duvet cover there was a small maybe 1/4inch black line on one side and a spot on one of the shams as well. With a spot wash some of it was removed, hopefully next washing it will be gone. My advice is to thoroughly check all goods before using, other than this glitch I would recommend this product.

Love! Love! Love!
from Silver Spring, MD,  Nov 14, 2010

I love this duvet cover! I was looking for weeks at stores and a few on-line stores but the prices were high and the quality was lacking. I am trying to create an upscale sophisticated look for my newly renovated master bedroom and this duvet cover did the trick. I looked at patterned duvet covers but the thread count was always low and I wanted a bed that I could sink into. I purchased the gold and the color was perfect - not brassy gold but a tope-like gold. I paired it with a down comforter and a ivory cotton thin quilt, also from overstock and it looks great! I can't wait to get into bed at night.

Disappointed
from Plain Dealing, LA,  May 24, 2010

I purchased the duvet cover set after buying the sheets. The sheet set was so wonderful, I ordered another in a different color. The duvet set arrived in a timely fashion. But after trying to get my comforter in it, I knew it wasn't working out well. The end with the opening has very small buttons, much too small in my opinion for the job it needs to do. And the buttons were already coming off so I will have to resew them. Also my comforter that is queensize was just too large for the duvet. I was so disappointed with that. The stripe and colors were great but the buttons to close should be larger, much larger and if you are getting queensize you might want to reconsider and order a king. The queen size won't even cover my mattresses. It's just too small. The wearability is okay, I don't have any problem with wrinkling.

It's ok
from Cincinnati, Ohio,  Mar 20, 2010

Honestly, this is my first experience with a duvet. I guess I expected it to perform similar to a comforter, but easier to clean and not as heavy. I find that it's ok as long as you don't touch it or sit on it, etc. If you do, it rumples and wrinkles easily. On the positive, the gold color is true to the picture, and it did wash up fairly well. I will probably try a different bedding idea, like a thin spread with a quilt/coverlet which should be more forgiving.

comfortable one
from San Jose, CA,  Feb 11, 2010

It is comfortable, washed twice already, still in good shape. The material is kinda thick though, gives you the feeling of low end product (which it maybe is), but again it is comfortable, and the quality is good (check the cornors, the buttons, the thread etc you'll see) works for me at least

Lost its color when washedt!
 from Arizona,  Jan 27, 2010

Well-made and nice-looking duvet set, but I was very disappointed when the "Stone" color faded to a light tan after it was washed in cold water.

Vacation At Home
from Beachwood, OH,  Aug 6, 2008

Our bedroom looked so luxurious with the new duvet cover that it reminded me of a nice bed and breakfast. The duvet cover was easy to put on a king sized comforter. It is comfortable and luxurious. The color was exactly what I expected.

Egyptian Cotton 600 Thread Count Duvet Cover
from North Dakota,  Jun 27, 2008

I purchased this item as I wanted something new and different for my renovated bedroom. It is a beautiful cover and feels really good on my skin. The only setback was after I washed it (using Dreft and no fabric softener-as recommended by many friends and associates) the color faded somewhat and the fabric started to ball alittle bit. Other than that the valve was good and I would recommend it.

Colors aren't as shown
 from Seattle,  Mar 30, 2008

I ordered the Taupe because it the color in the picture would fit my room perfectly, but it was definitely the exact color of beige, which was disappointing. I had read another review about the Taupe not being the right color, but I had faith that it would be! It was not, do not go for the Taupe, you will not get what you pay for! Also, the stitching is an awkward bright white and looks poorly done. I think I will return it!

Incorrect color

Disappointed color was supposed to be taupe but is more dark gold. Not what I was looking for but not worth hassle to return so will pass it on to someone else who can use it.

Sleeping Dreamily
from Alexandria, VA,  Feb 23, 2008

I purchased the beige duvet about a month ago and was not impressed by the softness when it first arrived. All the reviews I'd read before purchasing lead me to believe it was going to be really nice and luxurious. It was just really stiff. After washing it a few times though and after using it night after night, that all changed. I can only imagine it will become more pliable with time. It's definitely well made and sturdy even though I found a few knots in the fabric. The stripes make it look chic and sophisticated on my bed. Overall it was a great value and I am happy with me purchase. Be warned that it does attract lint.
