It is Renaissance Brand if anyone cares. I would think a 1000 tc Egyptian cotton "Sateen" should be very soft. I will say that the sheets are thick, so fabric quality is very high, however it is not soft at all. I am hoping that it will get soften overtime after many washes. Pocket is about 16" deep which is not indicated in the item features. Therefore don't get it if you have a pillow top mattress or will put a high topper on your mattress.
I've had these sheets for over 8 months now with very regular washings. They are fake high TC sheets and I'd list them at around 300-500TC range of a premium brand sheet. I think the threads are piled on each other or braided which creates a very rough feel to them. My 800TC sheets from a different brand feel miles better than this set.If you're currently using a low TC sheet or a low quality high TC sheet set, you'll likely be happy with this set. If you're already using premium high TC sheets, you will be disappointed with this set. Look elsewhere. To give credit to the sheet, they go deep which is good if you have a deep bed like a pillowtop.
I ordered a set of these sheets in Honey for our bedroom. The color is very pretty and is little on the golden honey side. The sheets are quite soft after one washing for high thread count sheets. My experience is that with higher thread count sheets they need many washings to really soften up because they are so thick. A few more washes and these will be really soft. While they do wrinkle, I've seen far worse with other sets. The flat sheet top edge and pillowcases did not have major creases in them after coming out of the dryer. They have a silky feel to them too. I love that they come with 4 pillow cases - a nice plus! Also, the fitted sheet (I bought a queen set) fits VERY snugly on the mattress I broke a nail getting it on the bed). A little hard to get it on means that it clearly isn't going to pop off! The fitted sheet also has really deep pockets to accommodate a pillow-top mattress. While I didn't get out the tape measure, the package says it accommodates up to a 16" deep mattress and I would believe it.
These are very nice sheets. They will satisfy even those out there with a sheet fetish like me. The first thing I noticed was that they were nicely packaged. The next was that the white is not a stark bright cold white -- it has a touch of pearl to it that is really elegant. They did have a chemical smell as one reviewer noted which could be due to processing or to off-gassing from the plastic zip bag they came in, but it washed out in one wash. It's funny some reviews say they're soft others say like cardboard -- truth is they're silky smooth (as opposed to soft) incredibly thick and wonderfully crisp (what you want in white shirts and sheets). They are very heavy but wash and dry nicely. They don't take forever to dry as I worried due to there thickness. I usually iron my linen sheets --always the cases, but I don't mind the few soft wrinkles in these sheets just out of the dryer. They look as though they will never have puckering or twisting seams and will wear like iron. One thing though-- The cases on the queen set fit nice and snug and the length is perfect for a standard size pillow but a tad short for queen size pillows.
These sheets weigh a ton! I can only wash the flat Queen-sized sheet and two pillow cases in one load; the fitted sheet and the other two pillow cases must be washed in a separate load. They require some ironing even after they come out of the dryer.Sounds like a lot of work, yes, but they are so worth the extra effort. I have never slept better, even the finest hotels.
I read a bunch of diffrent reviews before ordering the Egyptian Cotton Sateen 1000 Thread Count 6-piece Sheet Set. When I finially received them they were truley heavy and I washed them right away. Actually twice. Ive had them for about 10 months now and i love them! They are on the heavy side and they do come out a bit rinkled out of the dryer but besides that its true the more you wash them the softer they get. Also if your looking for stark white these are a bit more eggwash white I was a bit dissappionted at first but they've grown on me and are so luxurious to lay in. I love my pillow cases Ive lost two on vacations because i always take my own pillow when travling and I want to purchase new ones. I live in a climate where the majority of the time its hot outside but in the winter it gets cold and these sheets are honestly great for all year round. I would recomend these sheets as a gift or for yourself.
Very heavy; very smooth; very comfortable. I don't think I've every slept in anything to compare.
These a absolutely the best sheets I've ever owned. They are very sturdy and VERY heavy. I've bought "1000" tc sheets from other sites and they were nothing like these. They fit my king size bed perfectly (they completely cover the corners, which I've had problems with in other sheets). They do tend to wrinkle (not a big issue for me). They might do better if they were dried in two separate loads (again, they are very heavy and fill up a regular sized dryer!).
I love these sheets! This was my first venture in to the "high end" sheet market and have not been disappointed. They fit my pillow top mattress perfectly and are so comfortable to sleep on. Thinking a great set of sheets would make excellent Christmas gifts for my adult kids.
I recently purchased these sheets after the 800 thread count ones I originally wanted were sold out. I am so glad I did! These sheets are fantastic. My husband and I absolutely love them. They are heavy, which is nice. The fabric is excellent quality. They also stay nice and cool which is a big bonus since we live in Florida. It is ridiculously hot right now, even with the a/c on, but these sheets keep us cool at night. To address a couple things other reviewers stated, they are not the softest things ever right away, but still soft. They do have a crisp feel to them, which we like, but I understand some people may not like as much. We did wash them right away in LeBlanc Linen Wash, which is specifically made for luxury linens and they felt wonderful. They did need ironing, but I only did the pillow cases and the top sheet. We put the bottom one on fresh out of the dryer and didn't have an issue, the wrinkles have almost completely come out. But really, they are cotton sheets, and cotton wrinkles. If you don't make your bed in the morning, they will be wrinkled up by the afternoon, just a cotton thing.Overall we are extremely happy with our purchase and I would definitely buy them again, and I just might!
I bought these sheets after sleeping on my sisters set of 1000 thread count. Although this set is very thick and rich in color they were not really what I would have hoped for. I have washed them once and yes they wrinkled but after a few nights of sleeping on them the wrinkles fell out. I am pleased with the color it was exactly what I was expecting. I have 600 thread count sheets and they softened over time. The set is soft but I hope that the more I wash them that they will get softer. i would recommend them they are a great bargain!!
I've contemplated buying a good set of 1000ct sheets for a long time. I finally ordered these after reading so many of the good reviews. I ordered the Maize color. It was exactly as I had hoped for, a soft, rich, light golden color. The fitted sheet has elastic around the entire edge, for a great fit. We have a deep foam mattress and the sheet fit perfectly. They are thick, well constructed, and very attractive. I have an old washing machine with a deep basin so I did not have any trouble fitting them in the wash. They took about the same amount of time to dry as my usual laundry load. I have only washed them once so far; I added my dryer balls to the wash as well as the dryer to help give them some wear - they came out of the laundry softer than they went in. Since they are new, they were a little stiff, but they are certainly very comfortable to sleep on! I expect them to become softer with use. The bonus extra pillow cases are a true bonus. As usual I am extremely happy with my Overstock purchase and would recommend this sheet set to anyone looking for a high thread count set -- with a lower thread count price.
I felt compelled to review these. After having these for 4+ years, the elastic was getting a little loose so I came back to get another pair. This is the most wonderful, sofest pair of sheets I have ever owned. They get more and more soft each time you wash them. I never get hot or sweaty when I sleep in them yet they are never really cold either. They fit perfectly my king pillowtop bed(great for anyone who needs deep pockets) I cannot reccomend them enough. Buy them I promise you won't regret it!
I purchased these sheet on 23 Jul 2010, on 15 May 2011, the corners of the sheets have become torn. these sheets have not been used that frequent. These are a terrible product, and the only bad purchse that i have had from your company
These sheets are a great buy for the price. I bought the Maize and the color is just right. The weight of the sheet is heavy, which I love. They launder well. I would definitely recommend to everyone!
1000 count sheets are like sleeping under a table cloth, very stiff and heavy, we will be staying with a lighter count. 600 is perfect.
I've been using 600 TC Sateen sheets for several years and I love them. I thought I would upgrade and buy a higher count, hoping the quality/feel would only get better. When I unpacked these sheets, I said to myself "They feel like canvas". I just spent 2 weeks painting a house I just purchased and these sheets are as comfortable as the canvas that I used to cover the floor. And I'm not over exaggerating.I ran them through the washer and dryer hoping it would make a difference, but it hasn't.Yes, they are heavy sheets. But they are nowhere near soft or sateen. Also, these sheets could never be used in the spring/summer/fall. They are that heavy. Not at all please with them. It was a learning experience and I'll stay with the 600 TC from now on.
Love these sheets, they are wonderfully soft and luxurious! Each washing makes them an even better luxury!
These sheets are very stiff. I've washed them 10 times already, but they are still very stiff. The fabric quality is excellent, but they are just too heavy. We live in the South...these would make good winter sheets, but are too hot for the summer.
After reading previous reviews I chose to take the chance. Very satisfied, out of the package very soft feeling, heavy, durable,. We have a soft sided king waterbed and these sheets fit very well. Surely if washed properly at a lighter setting, adding liquid softner, dryed seprately of one another I feel sure wrinkles won't be a problem. 1000 cotton is a real winner!
