I've been looking for sheets like this for a long time. I have one pillow case left of my Grandmother's sheets, and have finally found a good replacement. They're not as thick as her's were, but they're as soft & cool. I've only had them about a month, but they're good sheets. I've always paid top dollar, but most are still sateens which I have found ball up (even when wash/dried cool). You'll probably want to wash them twice before using. THESE SHEET ARE DEFINATELY FOR THE HOT SLEEPERS. They maintain their coolness, which I love. Blessings to you for a peaceful sleep!
Overall, I am very pleased with these sheets. They are crisp and cool and rustle when you get into bed (I love that). The pocket on the fitted sheet is extra deep, so even with a 16" mattress, you can't get a very tight fit. While they're still fairly new (only three washings so far), there is a wrinkle factor with the pillowcases, but that will work out over time. The only real objection I have to these sheets is that they have been in the package for a long time, and there is some yellowing in places from that. The yellowing comes out more with each washing, so that's probably another matter that will work out over time. However, I can't stress enough the pleasure of climbing into a bed made with these sheets: it's cool, smooth, and crisp...my favorite kind of sheet.
I LOVE the feel of these sheets. Crisp, yet soft enough for our skin not to be irritated and easy to put on the mattress. The material is very fine, finer than I expected - hope that it will wear long but won't know since we just got them.

I became a "sheet snob" just a few years ago. I have paid $$$$ for one queen top sheet in Egyptian cotton percale, 406 tc.. I cannot believe the deal on these! Let me tell you about the sheets and how wonderful they are... These are the highest thread count I have ever found in a 100% cotton single thread Egyptian Percale (500 and above, you're getting sateen, which I despise). What does this mean? High quality. These will get softer with every washing. They have a nice hand, are crisp. and are great if you run hot at night. They will last many, many years with proper care and will never pill. They wrinkle, of course. I don't care. The comfort of these delicious sheets is what's important to me. I like my bottom sheet snug, and the 22" fitted sheet is still too deep for my pillow top bed. So I kept the top sheet and pillowcases, and am gifting the bottom sheet to my favorite sister. It'll be a great fit for her platform (single overly thick mattress) bed. She has no idea of what she has been missing out on all these years! I wish Overstock would get more in. Beige was my only option but I would love it in white! Less dye=even softer threads.
I ordered these hoping for the feel of my Grandmas sheets and I got it! Yes, they do wrinkle, but I believe my Grandmas did as well....she ironed hers that is what I remember! So I have washed them three times and hung them out on the line while the weather was good. They feel wonderful, and this week they will go in the dryer and I expect them to be just as good. The pocket is very deep so don't get these if you don't have the pretty large mnattress they will be baggy. Can't beat the price....love these sheets!
I must say I was hesitant never bought sheets online. I have a 22 inch mattress and theses sheets fit perfect. They are winkled when they come out of dryer but that doesn't bother me. I purchased these in May 2013 it is now January 2014. They have been washed at least 28 times and still look like the day I purchased them. Oh they remind me of when my grandma use to line dry our linens. Very crisp not itchy. I love them and the price is unbeatable!
If you love the cool crisp feel of Grandmas sheets that have just come off the clothesline, then these are the sheets for you! I dont think I could be without these in the summer. Ok.... so they wrinkle a little, but not enough to do without them.... and besides..... who irons their sheets?? Sheets are for sleeping! The extra deep pockets are just as described. I have a deep pillowtop mattress with a memory foam topper and these sheets fit perfectly without pulling or bunching. The elastic in the pockets is reinforced as well so the sheet stays put. The only regret is that they dont come in more colors
I ordered these percale sheets and was pleasantly surprised by the quality for such a reasonable price. I only have percale as I love the crisp feeling and they just get better with each washing. Personally I don't mind that they wrinkle, it isn't an issue for me. Once in a while I might touch up the pillow cases with the iron. I compared the actual size of the flat sheet to others and found these to be a few inches longer and wider. I was so surprised when I opened the package and the fitted sheet has a 1 1/4" wide elastic band the entire way around the sheet. Overstock should definitely mention this in the product description. I have never seen this on any sheet before. I'm sure these sheets are almost sold out as the only color choice in any size was white. No problem, I ordered them any way and I'm very happy I did!
For a long time I purchased sheets not knowing the difference between percale and saten (not satin). I always ended up with saten, which is a different weave than percale. Saten kind of lay on your skin more like satin. These sheets are percale, which is a crisp cotton. They remind me of the sheets my grandmother had on her beds. I don't find them to be loud like the other reviewers. Just crisp, clean cotton...just what I wanted. Great quality sheets.
These sheets are just what I wanted: crisp & cool! I am so sick of sateen sheets & wanted something that feels like they've been dried outside in the sun...just like what I remember from my childhood. Wonderful material & excellent craftmanship.
First of all, unlike many of the reviewers, I know what percale is, and I know the material dries with wrinkles, and I know it takes many washing for their soft character to develop. My family has always used percale and taught me what the quality of these sheets are, and warned me about the cheap quality of sateen. However, these 450 TC sheets are not my grandmother' percale. I've owned them a year now and they have yet to soften. The weave is course, not fine, as in should be in a well made percale sheet. And you feel that coarseness on the bed. Perhaps Indian manufactured percale will never reach the heights of Italian made percale (which is the case for most of the towels coming from that country). But that's what you get for under $$$ a set...poorly manufactured percale. Save up for the real deal, they are worth it, and will outlast anything with the word sateen in it.
I cannot stand sheets that are not crisp and cool. I love these sheets and anxiously await more to be offered. I cannot tolerate soft, clingy sheets. They require a quick press of pillowcases and around the borders of the sheet if you want them to look really good.
After sleeping on: Andiamo Solid 500 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton Sheets that pilled up in 1month, these percale sheets felt a little scratchy and stiff. I have washed them twice and they seem to be getting better. I have had them for a month now and NO PILLS!!! I live in Texas so it is warm year around, these sheets stay cool. I like them. Would order them again.
A bit thin, but have been washed 3 times and NO pilling. They are cotton, so they come out wrinkled, but the size is AWESOME. For 2 yrs I've been fighting with sheets. They would say 'deep pocket' but they weren't deep enough, so every morning before pulling the covers up, I had to put the sheet back on at least 1 top corner. NOT ANY MORE. These sheets have such a deep pocket they could almost cover the mattress AND SPRINGS of a regular thickness mattress (15" or less). We have a queen size that is made for a platform, so it has an extra thick wooden frame on the underside of the mattress, which makes it about 18-1/2 - 19". NO FIGHTING with the sheets, if anything they are almost too deep. The entire edge of the fitted sheet has about a 1-1/2" thick elastic, so it almost envelopes the mattress with about at 2-3" section that extends under the mattress.... they are GREAT. I just wish they were a little thicker, or a little darker.... in my house light colors - especially white and off white - don't make it too long. But for the most part, I'm very happy with the sheets... sleeping better, with less stress starting my day !
The pockets are nice and deep and actually cover my mattress (which is plush) and the topper (extra 4 inches). Have only washed and used the sheets once but at this time I find them scratchy. I have been buying "premium" bedding for the last 10 years or so.....my bed is my haven and I deserve comfort (we all do!) Am hoping they will soften with washing, this is the first time I have had this issue. I have read reviews from others who complain of stiffness etc. with heavy thread count sheets, this is not the same. I haven't been bothered by thickness, I look for that in the winter, this is a scratchy feel. Hoping it will soften after a few more washes. I bought extra pillowcases at the same time from a different manufacturer, I LOVE the cases, wish the sheets were the same.
