It's Summer. Got to have some merciful sheets/cases. These are they. Light, crisp. Percale, when you can find it, is often higher thread count. I like those too, but have missed this kind for years. I bought ivory and White. First I bought the ivory, went nuts, then ordered another ivory and TWO white sets. Am getting rid of two other sets that I have; they won't be used. Sateen is a fad that I can understand, but compared with percale, they are icky, not, and not smooth. Sateen sounds "smoothe" but it's not to me. Slide into these after a hard day and be grateful. Fit is perfect (CA-King). I do wish they sold extra cases, both sizes, to go along with these, I would by them and dump my extra cases too. BY THE WAY, THE IVORY AND THE WHITE DO NOT FEEL THE SAME. But they are both fantastic. Enjoy.
What a great change from the limp sateen sheets that feel like rags. These sheets rustle and feel crisp-just whatI was looking for. After first wach in cold water-dried on low, they came out with a few wrinkles that smoothed right out with my hands. The bottom sheet is really deep and has elastic all around.LLBean sells percale sheets for much more money. These were a great buy. I think buyers should be aware of just what percale feels like before buying and there would be fewer complaints.
I am not one to buy expensive sheets but I spent a little more on this one and am glad I did. I finally found a set that is truly deep-pocketed enough to fit my thick queen with memory foam pad with room to spare. It has good elastic and is so smooth and cool. It does wrinkle like other buyers said, but that's no problem for me. I only use the bottom sheet anyway because I use a comforter with a duvet. If I use the top sheet on guests who are fussy, I might iron the top part that you fold over the blanket--will probably never happen. I use spare top sheets to make duvets.
I love these sheets. I bought the King size. The pockets are so, so DEEP. The flat sheets extra long. I took them out of their packages, washed them put them in the dryer and they came out awfully wrinkled but they are cotton and that's what cotton does. SO I put them back in the washer again and hung them on my clothesline to dry. Awesome, like I remembered back when my Mom did her sheets. The breeze even ironed out the wrinkles and softened them further. Of course having done laundry for more than 55 years now, I know that the more I launder these the softer and more broken in these sheets are going to be. I believe they are going to be my favorite summer sheets and if anyone remembers these, they'll be like 'hankerchief material' FYI, The ivory came out less wrinkled than the white. Some here said they feel like paper, yes, they feel thin, but they are not in any way, loosely woven. Just the opposite in fact. Bottom line: These sheets are not for you if you always use the dryer because these are cotton and you'll have a wrinkled bed. If you line dry your bedding and you're looking for sheets that are perfect for those hot summer nights WOW these are the ones!
Love the deep pockets on these sheets. Yes they are wrinkly, but I don't care. I love the crispy cool feeling of these sheets. They get softer with every wash. I don't get overly warm during the night because they breathe, unlike those horrible microfiber sheets. Wish they had the option of another set of pillowcases.
I was so looking forward to these sheets...I had read so many good reviews. The sheets are extra large and definitely fit my pillow top mattress. I purchased the ivory sheets. I have read that the ivory and white sheets feel different so maybe the white are better. These sheets are horribly scratchy and I don't like them near my face - I've never had such a reaction to sheets before and this is after washing them 3 times in the hopes they would get softer. If I could, I would return them. My husband though really likes them and they do feel cool. Go figure!
These aren't the softest sheets I've ever bought, but the deep pockets make up for that! The sheets have a wide elastic band around the entire fitted sheet and they stay put on my deep mattress. Maybe they'll soften up with a few more washings!
Except for the fact that the embroidery on the top sheet and the pillow cases shrunk. It must be about a half inch on the pillow cases. It is bad enough that I dread ironing them. It is a tug-o-war trying to stretch the embroidery out enough to press them without wrinkles. Since it seems to be rayon, it does bleach out if you use bleach on the sheets when washing. I wanted the white on white when I got these so this isn't a problem for me. I may end up cutting out the embroidery it would be easy to do but would need to put some else there to cover the needle marks.
The fabric was what I had been looking for for a long time. However about 3 months ago the entire trim on the flat sheet and one pillow case had deteriorated and was separating from itself. In a very short time I had to remove the edging as it was dangling and entangling our bedding and us. I'd never ever buy them again. They were a real true "rip off".
These sheets are crisp and cool. After washing them, they perfectly retained their more than ample size, making them easy to change the bed. There is a little fagoting detail on the top sheet which make them even lovelier to use. I first bought two sets, then 2 more and then, my final 2 sets of sheets. They're what sheets should feel like. They seem to stay cool always. The pillow cases are king sized also. These are now at the dressmakers being 'shortened' to regular sized.
