not that soft
I've been sleeping on these sheets nightly for 3 weeks now. Out of the box the sheets don't feel that soft and after 4 washes they are slightly softer but I was hoping for better. There are some very good things about these sheets (very deep fitted sheet pockets, full elastic, great looking stripe pattern, rich colors, big king pillow cases (w/ King sets) but be honest, you're buying 800 thread count sheets because you want them to FEEL great. These sheets to have a substantial feeling to them, but they aren't anywhere near as soft as I was hoping (or have felt on friends sets). I thought I did my research before hand (these sheets use single ply, long staple Egyptian yarns which should be a recipe for a great fabric) but I did a little more research after I found myself disappointed by the softness and found that high thread counts can be a little deceptive. With a standard 1-over 1-under (percale) weave, 400 tc is the max possible with the best cotton. Yup, there it is! Thread counts are a marketing gimmick. Companies achieve higher thread counts by inserting picks into the weft which can leave the fabric feeling less than soft. That said, I've read that there are great feeling high thread count sheets out there...these aren't those. But for such a great price you still can't go wrong.Oh, one more thing. I think the stripe pattern is causing some of the roughness. The glossy stripe looks sateen and is soft, but the dull side of the stripe is rough! Maybe go with the same brand in sateen rather than the damask stripe.

Nice color
These are decent sheets, though very heavy. It is probably a good product but I just prefer a light crisp percale. Yoiu might think more is better, but it is more like an upholstery fabric thatn sheeting.

800 thread count sheets
These are the worst sheets I have ever had. I usually love the weight of 800 thread count quality Egyptian cotton sheets, however these are rough, scratchy and horrible. I decided to give them a chance and use them for more than 6 mths to see if they softened up from continual use and washing. NO! they did not. I won't even use them for our guest bedroom that's how horrible they are.

Great Sheets
Like the one negative review says about these sheets, they are really heavy. I mean these sheets are really really heavy, for sheets. I dont see it as a negative though, they are beautiful, comfortable and the quality can be felt and seen. I would definately purchase these sheets again.

3 weeks...so far, so good...
After 7-10 years of using the same sheets, it was time to purchase new before the old was totaling worn out. Based on written customer reviews, we decided on Egyptian Cotton 800 Thread Count Striped Sheet Sets. My hope is these sheets will soften a bit more through the next several washings. .LOVE the heavy quality feel...and LOVE (so far) NO PILLING!!!
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? white and stone sets are true to website.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Upside...LOVE the heavy quality feel...so far NO PILLING!!! Downside...still a bit rough after several washings.

LOVE THESE!!!
Amazing sheets!! Nice weight, and soft to touch. Bought ours in pewter, and it is a pretty shade of silvery grey. Other reviewers said the stripes were rough, but I don't have that complaint. I will be buying more of these.

Outstanding sheets!
Seemed a little heavy until after the second washing. But sooooooo comfortable! Makes it hard for one to get out of bed! I'm buying a second set.

Heavy Duty
I had never had sheets made with this thread count or egyptian cotton before. I was surprised by how substantial and stiff they felt. They do wrinkle and are kind of noisy when you move around in bed and I wasn't sure if I'd like them or not. If you're looking for a soft drapy type of sheet you would't like these. But I do like how the cotton feels, as I said they're not 'soft' but they're not rough either, they remind me of old fashioned sheets that have been dried on a clothes line. My guess is that they will last for a long time due to their weight and density.

When I ordered these sheets- Egyptian cotton at 800 thread, I thought they would be very soft and comfortable. They are not. They are pretty but very rough to the touch and not at all comfortable to sleep on. They are not worth buying

I love my sheets! Yes they're heavy but that shows the threat count is real and for me that's just why I chose them. I could have given 5 stars but one set had standard pillow cases instead of king size. I'm still waiting for the replacement.
