I've been sleeping on these sheets nightly for 3 weeks now. Out of the box the sheets don't feel that soft and after 4 washes they are slightly softer but I was hoping for better. There are some very good things about these sheets (very deep fitted sheet pockets, full elastic, great looking stripe pattern, rich colors, big king pillow cases (w/ King sets) but be honest, you're buying 800 thread count sheets because you want them to FEEL great. These sheets to have a substantial feeling to them, but they aren't anywhere near as soft as I was hoping (or have felt on friends sets). I thought I did my research before hand (these sheets use single ply, long staple Egyptian yarns which should be a recipe for a great fabric) but I did a little more research after I found myself disappointed by the softness and found that high thread counts can be a little deceptive. With a standard 1-over 1-under (percale) weave, 400 tc is the max possible with the best cotton. Yup, there it is! Thread counts are a marketing gimmick. Companies achieve higher thread counts by inserting picks into the weft which can leave the fabric feeling less than soft. That said, I've read that there are great feeling high thread count sheets out there...these aren't those. But for such a great price you still can't go wrong.Oh, one more thing. I think the stripe pattern is causing some of the roughness. The glossy stripe looks sateen and is soft, but the dull side of the stripe is rough! Maybe go with the same brand in sateen rather than the damask stripe.

These are decent sheets, though very heavy. It is probably a good product but I just prefer a light crisp percale. Yoiu might think more is better, but it is more like an upholstery fabric thatn sheeting.

These are the worst sheets I have ever had. I usually love the weight of 800 thread count quality Egyptian cotton sheets, however these are rough, scratchy and horrible. I decided to give them a chance and use them for more than 6 mths to see if they softened up from continual use and washing. NO! they did not. I won't even use them for our guest bedroom that's how horrible they are.

Like the one negative review says about these sheets, they are really heavy. I mean these sheets are really really heavy, for sheets. I dont see it as a negative though, they are beautiful, comfortable and the quality can be felt and seen. I would definately purchase these sheets again.

After 7-10 years of using the same sheets, it was time to purchase new before the old was totaling worn out. Based on written customer reviews, we decided on Egyptian Cotton 800 Thread Count Striped Sheet Sets. My hope is these sheets will soften a bit more through the next several washings. .LOVE the heavy quality feel...and LOVE (so far) NO PILLING!!!

We have a very deep double pillow top mattress and I was a little nervous about finding sheets that would fit. The sheets fit comfortably with no pulling or tugging to get them on! As a bonus these sheets are very high quality - I felt like we got great value for the money spent. Nice, heavy, luxury bedding.

I was shocked when I opened these sheets - they are SO scratchy and rough that I actually double-checked the label to make sure I had been shipped the 800 tc sheets I ordered. I should have just packaged them up and returned them, but I made the mistake of thinking the sheets would soften up when washed (to be more like my other sets of 800+ tc Egyptian Cotton sheets that I know and love). FYI - they do not soften. If anything, they are more scratchy. Ironing doesn't work either. What a waste of money!

I really wanted to love these sheets. I love the color (Pewter) but they are soooo thick and stiff! I've washed them twice with no change in the feel of them. They're just way to heavy for my taste.

I have purchased several sets of 800 TC sheet sets from Overstock. The others are very good but, these are the finest I've ever purchased. I only wish I would have found these first because I would have purchased more of the same in different colors. They are light-weight NOT like sailcloth and really smooth and soft.

Excellent quality, and value. Highly reccommend these sheets.

I've had these sheets for two years, and they've worn so well, I've ordered another set. They wash well, are generously sized without being too big for the bed, and are a good weight. The only drawback is that they can be very wrinkly if you don't put them on the bed straight from the dryer.

I purchased these sheets more than two years ago. After 28 months of daily use, they are still in fabulous condition. These sheets are a nice weight, the color is true to pictures (I have the platinum), and they are soft but strong enough to wash and use over and over again. I have had sheets tear in the past or even wear out in certain spots from climbing into our very high bed...these look as beautiful now as when they came out of the package. They fit nicely on our thick mattress and do not wrinkle coming out of the dryer. I am only back because my second set of sheets (another brand) is worn out and I want another set of these!

While I really really really, like these sheets, they take a few washings to soften up. I bought King size in Stone. The color is a soft golden hue. I got stripes for ease of orientation. Crisp is the word I use to discribe these, not satenly. Cool crisp comfort. I have bought several sheet sets from Overstock the prievious high tc was 660. They were my favorite. They feel soft like velvet. Now it's a toss up as to which sleep better. If the 800 tc continue to soften they will be the clear winner, for now I have a choice of luxuries, sateen smooth or cool crisp

Simply the thickest, softest, most enjoyable sheets I've owned to date. They are beautiful and super comfortable. Very soft, but not too soft that you slide out of bed or they slide off in the middle of the night. The stripe is fantastic and gives them that extra look of elegance. May get these in another color, too!

I love these sheets! I ordered the white set for our guest room. The material is very nice and heavy (feels like hotel bedding!) - The ONLY negatives are:1. I had to iron it... Came out very wrinkly even though I pulled it right out of the dryer. It's quite a hassle to iron.2. The pockets are VERY deep - I have a pillow top mattress with a mattress topper on top of that and there was still extra room.3. The material was soft, but not very soft - Hopefully it will wash up to be a little softer soon!Overall, it's worth it for the look and the price and I would recommend it!

Sheets were soft and felt very elegant but I was disappointed in the color. I ordered the stone and it was rather drab. I washed them before use and they fit true to the size. They have nice deep pockets. I have only used them once so time will tell on the wear. At the price they better last a long time!!!

These sheets have been washed twice now. They are of fine quality, are long enough for our thick mattress, but they are a little scratchy. I am hoping they will unstiffen a little with washing more.

If your idea of soft is a sheet that cuddles around you, these are not the sheets for you. They are very, very stiff and very heavy. I weighed a set of nice 400ct sheets. They weighed 2 lbs. These sheets weigh 6 lbs, three times heavier than any sheets I have ever seen. When you fold them they take twice as much room up as any other sheets. They wrinkle a LOT and I don't find them to be very soft. They are more slick than soft. I have washed and dried them four times and they are not much better. I will probably just give them to the salvation army.

These sheets are wonderful, extra deep so they fit mattress easily, very comfortable - I wash them right away so I can put back on my bed. Definitely recommend them!
