I bought the Cal King size sheet and it fit wonderfully onto my 15" mattress. No problem with meeting the depth required. I however thought that these sheets would be softer than they are. With 650 thread count these sheets are solid and well made, but they feel a bit scratchy and they come out of the wash a wrinkled mess. I later purchased a set of 450 thread count sateen sheets that have a much softer feel.
We are spoiled by our Italian made top quality Egyptian high count sheets. The type that retail for $600-$900 per set or on sale for $300+ if you get lucky. We changed our king size bed to an adjustable king (2 XL twin mattresses) so I ordered these hoping for a decent fitted bottom sheet. Trust me, if you are used to top quality Egyptian cotton these "650" count will feel like cardboard by comparison. They were softer to the touch when I opened the pack, then I washed them before making the bed. Which meant it was too late to return them for a refund. I tried washing them 3 more times hoping to soften them up. No such luck. They fit the mattresses perfectly (XL Twin) UNTIL you raise the top or bottom to an elevated position which is the whole point of having an adjustable bed. And the sheets still feel scratchy compared to our old sheets. I cannot recommend these to folks who have an adjustable bed (the fitted bottom snaps off when the bed is raised) or people who are spoiled like we are. I only tried these because I have not found any top quality sheets from Italy that are made for the adjustable king size bed (with two XL twin mattresses). Currently I am waiting for the sheets I ordered from ***** a company that specializes in adjustable bed sheeting. I've learned my lesson - do not order sheets online for an adjustable bed. And don't believe that all sheets that are made of Egyptian cotton and have a high thread count are the same. They aren't. I already knew that you get what you pay for so I blame myself for wasting the money not Overstock.com.
Felt the need the leave a review after sorting through countless contradictory posts about not only these, but all the bedding on here in general. Yes, everybody has different tastes about their sleep preferences, but let me give a neutral review. They are definitely not "like sleeping on burlap." They are very smooth and crisp, although like all other cotton sheets they get a little softer after each wash. They are pretty lightweight, you can see light through them if held up to one. Unless you are sleeping without a blanket though, this shouldn't be a problem and is actually pretty great on those hot summer nights when you kick your heavy comforter off and just have these. I happen to love these sheets because of the crisp feel, but if you're looking for something more akin to a blanket, heavy and velvety soft, then these are not for you. But the cool, crisp and smooth feel makes me never want to get out of bed in the morning! Not to mention I got them in king size for less than $100, which is an amazing price for this great set of sheets.
I would have to say these are the best sheets I have purchased. They are extremely well made and the texture is like sateen, but not cold or hot. Great proportions for those with deep matresses. Highly recommend this product and I will buy these sheets in another color.
I LOVE THESE SHEETS. THEY ARE SUPER SOFT AND SMOOTH. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY OF MY OLD SHEETS. THREAD COUNT AND QUALITY REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE. THEY HAVE A LOVELY SHINE TO THEM ALSO. ONE, SMALL SETBACK- THEY TEND TO WRINKLE SOME, HOWEVER THEY ARE EGYPTIAN COTTON AND APPARENTLY THATS PRETTY COMMON BECAUSE OF THEIR SOFTNESS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
I have purchased many sheets on Overstock and these do not compare. These are 650 thread count that feel like 250. Both my husband and I itch from the sheets. I have washed them 3 times and they are still rough. I will stick to my 450 thread count they are much softer than these sheets.
I have been searching for sheets that stay put on my Cal king bed and don't shrink up in the dryer. Well, I found them in these sheets. Not only that, but they are the most comfortable sheets I have ever owned. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning. I won't buy any other sheets now. I only pray Overstock doesn't stop carrying them. I bought a set for my Mom as well. I highly recommend these sheets.
Although they were beautiful in the package, they didn't come out of the dryer very nicely. Quite wrinkled. I expected them to be softer, too. I have other EC sheets (same thread count) that need only a good shake to take most of the wrinnkles out. And they make sleep dreamy!!
We are so happy with our new sheets. They are so soft and easy to put on our 19" mattress. I have so much trouble finding good quality sheets that fit at a reasonable price. We would recommend the Egyptian Cotton Sheets to everyone we know. Also, the sheets STAY PUT.
I looked through all the reviews and these sheets sounded great. And they definitely lived up to their reviews. Very soft! My husband loves them. I wanted to put on flannel sheets but he wants these. The color, linen, was a bit more tan but looks great. Highly recommend!
These sheets are shiny and slippery, like cheap satin. They are so thin, you can see through them. They smelled horrible out of the package. The quality is very poor. Egyptian cotton, but these are made in China. Thankfully, I was able to return them. I do not recommend them. On the bright side, Overstock Customer Service was excellent.
While I believe the fabric would have turned out nicely after a few washes... the sheets would not stay on the bed. The specifications stated they would fit up to an 18" mattress; they would not cover my 16" euro top mattress so I have returned the item for a refund.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? good
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Fabric was nice but the sheets did not fit my mattress.
