Drying Created Urine-like Stains
I purchased this exact mattress pad from Overstock in 2008 for a lot cheaper than listed. The one purchased then was soft and got softer after every wash, hardly shrunk, and to this day, its only damage is a small hole in the elastic because I slid the bed on the carpet. After getting a new bed and having been highly satisfied with the one purchased in 2008, I decided to re-buy it. When I got it, I noticed the fabric was pretty rough. So, for sanitary reasons and in hopes it would get softer, I washed and dried it as I have been doing with the other pad. The result however were ... yellow stains and the roughness stayed the same. I'm so disappointed and more so because I can't return it. Not recommended.

Very nice
I didnt' want a "topper" to make the bed thicker, just a mattress pad to go between the mattress and the bottom sheet. This item fit well and was easy to put on and provided a nice comfortable padding under the sheet. I've only given it 4 stars as I don't know yet how it will hold up over time and washings. It made no difference to me that the stripes in the fabric ran side to side on the bed as opposed to end to end; it can't be seen under the sheet anyway. I would have preferred more substantial side panels but all the mattress pads I looked at were made this way or with even thinner material.

Not what I expected...
The stripes on this go sideways, which is opposite of how the stripes on my damask sheets and duvet cover go, but that didn't really matter. The top fabric, the Egyptian cotton, is nice quality. The sides are a strange type of elasticized microfiber that seems to hold well, but does not have elastic that holds the bottom edge, and the bottom edge does not fold under the mattress, but just stays on the side. But that didn't really matter because it seems to hold. This has not yet been laundered, so I can't rate how it comes out. The backing of the pad is polyester. Some of the mattress covers indicated that the bottom of the pad was poly or poly blend, but this one did not. It only indicated that it was Egyptian cotton. Well, the top surface is, but under the fiberfill, the part against the mattress, is not cotton, but a loosely woven polyester that feels like paper. The fiberfill is comfortably soft, but the polyester is hot, and doesn't breathe well for people who "sleep warm," as we do. I was disappointed, but decided to try it anyway. Next time I guess I have to ask about what should have been revealed.

egyptian mattress pad
the mattress pad itself is very nice. Very thick. The problem I have with the product is trying to get all the sides to fit around my mattress. My mattress is not all that thick, no where near as thick as this is advertised to fit, and it was all I could do to get it on the bed. I actually had to push the bed out in order to get around the back to pull the sides around the mattress, and it actually made my fingers sore. The pad itself is fine but it just was overly difficult to fit on the mattress.

Comfy and Soft!
March 29, 2013 So soft and so well made. Love it. Don't know how it will wash as I haven't had it for more than a few weeks. Wanted something that breathes to put between sheet and mattress, really a cover more than a pad, and this does the trick. Filled with enough padding to be comfortable but I'd consider this a mattress 'cover', not so much a pad due to light padding. Love it anyway!

Luxurious and high quality
Nice fit on our thick mattress. The sides are not made of that weird paper-like thin stuff that is easy to poke your fingers through, instead, the sides are made with nice, stretchy, real fabric. The pad itself is thick and improves the quality of our mattress.

This was a complete waist of time ordering. Suppose to be king sized was maybe a queen size. Ripped when we tried to put it on the mattress. Poor quality! Do Not Purchase This Product.

Slip-n-Slide
Purchased the Gold set for a Queen bed. I'm a bit of a "square" as this is my first satin sheet purcahse. I washed the sheets prior to use and the color did not bleed (delicate/cold cycle). Like previous reviewers stated, they are slippery, but that is to be expected when dealing with this type of material. Overall I loved this purchase, the sheets are comfortable to sleep on indeed.
