Aaaah...Cotton Comfort!
from Voorhees, NJ,  Sep 4, 2006

The duvet cover set exceeded my expectations. First, it is very difficult to find king duvet and king shams in department stores. I was looking for a pure white set which is rare in all sizes. The set that I ordered was perfect, pure white. The 400 thread count cotton is smooth and delightfully soft. I have a box quilted comforter inside the cover and the duvet cover is so soft that it molds to the quilt beneath it, revealing the box baffles. The king shams are appropriately sized, not skimpy nor over-sized. The timelessness of the color and design, coupled with the quality of the fabric, means that I will enjoy this set for years to come.

Thin is better
from seattle, wa,  Jun 27, 2008

I bought this duvet cover after reading the reviews indicating that the material was not thick. I have a goose down comforter I bought in the 90's with extremely high loft. It is puffy to the tune of around 5 inches high. The last thing I would want to do is put on a heavy duvet cover and flatten out the down clusters. I bought the gold and am very happy with it! The color is classy and perfect. The weave is single ply and tightly woven. It has a beautiful sheen to it. I've not washed it yet, but I will turn inside out before putting in the wash like I do with all my nice shirts, pants, duvet covers, etc. Mine has a seam joint 1/3 inward from each side, lengthwise. It does not look awkward to me. Frankly, I think it adds dimension. I cannot wait to use this when the weather gets cooler. I will buy another in the fall season! Also, for those of you who shop based on thread count alone, many lower thread count bedding such as 400 tc is actually softer or better quality than much higher thread count. Single ply is what you want for bedding. There is only so much thread that can be crammed into a square inch. When you see 800 or 1000 thread count, it is usually from it being double ply, therefore the material will feel thick like twill in some cases. Sometimes the way it is weaved or twisted, or the threads used is inferior so that the manufacturer can claim 800, 1000 tc, etc. Not all higher tc are bad, but most are not as luxurious you would imagine it to be. Some of the most expensive italian made sheets/duvet covers that cost a few hundred dollars are "only" 300-range thread count!

I just received my set in Moss and am very pleased with it. Not only does it accent the room beautifully with its vivid color, but its comfortable and soft to sleep in. A great addition to any bed!

More descriptive infomation would have been useful
from Suburbs of Washington, D.C.,  Oct 30, 2006

I was looking forward to receiving my duvet cover and getting it on the duvet to be ready for the chilly weather we are having lately, but was disappointed when I opened it up. The reason for the disappointment is that, other than the three side seams the cover has, the cover also has two seams on the top and bottom sides. The queen-size duvet cover is thus made from three pieces of material on each side, which makes it look as if it has been made from leftover material--not too nice. My old duvet cover is made from a single piece of material on each side, so it is indeed possible to get a seamless piece of material from which to make a queen-size duvet cover. For anyone interested, this duvet has a closure made of clear buttons, a fact not mentioned in the Web-site description.

Not big enough.........
from Denver, Co,  Oct 10, 2006

The quality and appearance of this duvet cover is nice, but the sizing is not. I have a queen bed and originally ordered the full/queen size. It barely hung over the edges of the bed! We liked the way it looked though so we sent it back for the king size instead. The king size fits the bed, but was still smaller than a king comforter, so we had to stuff the comforter inside. Because it is stuffed, it always looks a little messy. It is very comfortable though, and will be very soft after a few washes. I think for the price it is a good value, but if you like a comforter that drapes over the sides of the bed, be sure to order a size up from what you have.

Gorgeous!
Anonymous  from Seattle, WA,  May 4, 2006

I wasn't sure about ordering a duvet cover sight unseen, but I couldn't be happier with this purchase! We chose the "Sage" color, which is a pale silvery blue/green and has a slight sheen to it. As previous reviewers have noted, the cover is very soft; however, it's not a brushed cotten. It looks and feels a bit like duponi silk without being stiff, and does have a slight "rustling" sound to it when moved (fyi in case this might bother you while sleeping). Our old comforter fit perfectly inside, and the shams fit a standard pillow size. It's a beautiful, luxurious-looking cover. No regrets here, we love it!

Perfect weight!
from Littleton, CO,  Jan 17, 2007

I've been trying to duplicate the bedding my husband and I have enjoyed at The Peninsula in Chicago, as well as many of the JW Marriott resorts. The duvet realy makes comforter fabulous, but it's tricky to find one that is the right weight. The past few we've purchased have been too heavy where you can't feel the fluffy comforter or it just makes you too warm. This is absolutely pure luxury- I bought the white, to duplicate the look at the finer hotels, and it is so beautiful. It feels crisp yet soft and looks the same. The seams down the sides add some character - I don't mind them at all. Buy this - it's the perfect weight and feels absolutely amazing.

I love this set!
from Miami, FL,  Nov 14, 2006

I bought this set 1 year ago and I love it. It's been washed a lot of times in hot water also and it did not loose its look or shape. I got this set right before my baby was born so it's been through a lot. I have one in Smoke color. It's a litlle big for my king size comforter but it's great overall. I would definitley recommend this set to anyone. We are moving soon and I'm planning on buying more of this sets in different color for the whole family. Great quality!!!

Great fabric but why the seams?
 from California,  Nov 13, 2006

I'm picky about my linens but also live on a pretty tight budget. This definitely meets my expectations in terms of fabric quality -- very soft Egyptian cotton with the smooth hand you'd expect from 400 thread count. As another reviewer said, this cover is so soft that the box baffles on my down comforter show through. Yay! It feels great. My ONE complaint is that the cover is not made from a single length of fabric on either side -- there are two seams running down the sides of the queen-size duvet (the cover is made of three strips of fabric per side). Although this doesn't bug me TOO much because the fabric and the ivory color are lovely, I wanted to note it for other potential buyers.

Egyptian Cotton 400 tc Duvet Cover Set
from Columbus, OH,  Jun 25, 2006

This duvet deserves a rating of 6 stars. it is so luxurious, so soft, silky, and comfortable, that I don't want to sleep under something different. My visiting out-of-town friends mentioned the beauty and comfort of this duvet right after they spent a night on the sheets and duvet from Overstock.com. I bought many bedding and home items from Overstock.com, and I had never been sorry. And I recommend this site to all my friends. I just LOVE shopping there!!!

Cozy
from Kansas City,  Aug 11, 2008

Nice fabric for the price. Color was exactly what I expected. Fit the oversize queen size comforter that I bought on Overstock perfectly. I read a lot of reviews before I bought the comforter and duvet. They helped me very much in my decision. I'm very pleased with the outcome.

We love it!!
 from Pennsylvania,  Dec 4, 2006

You cannot beat this duvet set for the price! It is such a nice quality and looks beautiful. We bought the king size for a queen bed, which I had read previously to do that and I am so glad that I did! It fits so nicely over my king size down comforter. It is only a tad bit wrinkly, but you don't even notice after a couple of days layed-out across the bed. I do want to mention that I had originally ordered the Brick Red color and it was more like a salmon color. It is a cross between pink and orange.....definitely not a brick color. So, I ordered the moss green and it is very true to color. We are so happy with the purchase and highly recommend this set!

Good value
 from Louisville,  Oct 3, 2006

Very soft, wish the fabric was a little thicker. Does require some ironing to remove wrinkles from packaging. If you have a deep queen-sized mattress, like a pillowtop, I would recommend the King size. I bought the Queen and it's a tad short. The sage is a little more of a blueish-gray than I thought it would be, but still a very pretty color. I would recommend for the price and the softness.

Good stuff
from Los Angeles, CA,  Aug 31, 2006

I ordered the king size in moss and it fit perfectly. If anything, it was a little bit oversized! For people who have complaints about the sizing... it's simple to read the measurements listed here and then look at the measurements of your comforter on its tag. Worked out smoothly for me. Upon opening the item, it was smooth but not as soft as I wanted it. I stuck it in the dryer with 3 fabric softener sheets and it is absolutely wonderful now. The moss color is definitely pretty, but maybe a little bit more gray or dark than I'd expected. Then again, my room is not brightly lit! For the price you're paying, you definitely CAN'T go wrong w/this item. I used ebates.com and got a 12% off instant coupon and $1 shipping. Check it out.

nice duvet
from escondido, ca,  Aug 17, 2006

This was perfect! I purchased this in Moss not knowing if it would be the right color. I needed a dark sage green color and the sage green looked too gray in the picture so I choose Moss. I was afraid from reading another post that it looked more like desert sand. It does appear ever so slightly darker brownish in the picture but it really is pretty true to color, Moss green. I haven't washed it yet but it wasn't as wrinkly as most people say. It is what you would expect, very soft and sheet like. I am pleased and recommend it to anyone.

now I have 3 sets
 from Vermont,  Jul 12, 2006

I ordered the moss before, was not sure when I saw the color on my screen, but other reviewers had liked it so I took a chance....it is the same color as on the screen and much to my surprise looks great on the bed...it does have a nice feel to it...I washed, dried briefly and hung...looks fine...I liked it well enough that I ordered 2 king sets for our guest rooms, one in the smoke blue and the other in the green (not the moss). must say the colors of these are also excellent...now I am not sure which I like best...Thanks, they are great...I am washing the new ones as I write this.

Seam runs down the middle
Anonymous  from Houston, TX,  Jun 5, 2006

The fabric is lovely and the color looks great but I am very unhappy that the seam runs right down the middle of my duvet cover. It was not what I would have expected.

Egyptian Cotton 400 tc Duvet Cover Set
Anonymous  from California,  May 29, 2006

The shipment arrived in a timely manner. Sometimes when you see something on the internet it's a little daunting as you're never sure how it will actually look and feel. Couldn't be happier with the color and texture. We chose the gold color and it's exactly the same color as seen in the color Palette. The egyptian cotton is cool and soft. Would definitely recomend this item.

Great buy!
from New York, NY,  May 19, 2006

Wow, very impressed with this duvet cover set. I'm a bedding snob, my bed is my oasis, and it's a really nice set for 400 tc. It's almost as soft as my 800 tc sheets but I think with a couple of washes, it will be just as soft. It has a nice weight to it so it feels luxurious, but it's light enough so I don't get hot with the down comforter. I bought the King size in sage and it looks really great with the king shams. Another reviewer was definitely right about the sage color. It's more of a silvery/blue/grey/green sort of color so don't expect a very green sage. Really great buy, very happy with this for the price.
