I bought these pillowcases in burgundy. The burgundy is a true rich burgundy color. After several washings it has remained a rich true burgundy color. They have the soft feel of cotton and are comfortable to sleep with. These pillowcases are comparable to my other 300 thread count bedding. Since pillowcases can be quite expensive I shopped around before buying these. I think they are a good value.
These pillow cases were smooth and soft when i first opened them and put them on my pillows. However after washing them just once, the fabric seemed a bit rougher. The same soft smooth consistancy was not the same.this was a little discouraging as upon first opening them i was thrilled with fabric and color. Funny i have had some pillow cases for years and they are old yes, but still maintain their thread count. Anyways kudos to Overstock for replacing the first set i bought and being so genuine and responsive. Julianne sullivan
As a woman who spent her life sleeping on permanent press sheets, I've been hesitant to try all-cotton. When I took them out of the package they felt stiff and a bit slick, like new permanent press sheets and I wondered why I bothered to try them. But I washed them and pulled them right out of the dryer when it finished. They were a bit wrinkled, but I smoothed them with my hands and folded them until time to put them on the bed. They really don't look much different wrinkle-wise, and since I use a comforter, only my husband and I will see the minor wrinkles. But we also get to enjoy the softness of the cotton. I love the way it feels on my skin. And I find them much more comfortable in the warm climate where I live. I'll only be buying Egyptian cotton sheets from now on.
I purchased a set of the light blue - which really look more of a grey to me...but they will still work perfectly with the bedspread i have so that's OK. if you want a true blue, this may be off a bit. The material is extremely smooth, which is what I wanted. I have not used them that long to see any pilling, but I can say it is not a silky type of material that snags on anything it touches, at least so far. I never had Egyptian cotton before but I like these and they are only a 300 count..next I will invest in a much higher count. Two Egyptian cotton cases for ** was a pretty good deal and I am not sorry I tried these at all.
Out of the box, these seem fine. After they're washed, different story. They get incredibly wrinkly to the point where ironing won't even save them. Additionally, the fabric is pretty rough even for a 300TC case. I was pretty disappointed in this purchase unfortunately.
