I originally bought a set of these sheets in Cal King Medium Blue. I loved them so much that I bought two sets of the matching King pillowcases, and another sheet set and two more pillowcase sets in the Sage color. The 1500 TC pillowcase colors match the 1500 TC sheets perfectly, and are as pictured. Both Medium Blue sheets and pillowcases are a saturated medium blue color, although the Sage color is slightly less saturated than the picture on my monitor shows. Both Med Blue and Sage feel and look to be very expensive and high-quality. The sheets are very deep, and easily fit my 14 inch mattress with a mattress pad underneath, with room to spare. But People, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before you buy high Thread Count sheets. Don't give low reviews, or waste your money, simply because you were ignorant of what you were ordering. High TC sheets start out being heavy and a little stiff when you first open the package, but they soften up by washing and using them. The higher the TC, the heavier the sheets, so these sheets are heavy. Lower thread count sheets will be initially more pliable and more "airy" feeling, because there are fewer threads per square inch, so they actually are more airy since there is more air between threads. If you like light weight, airy sheets, get low TC or cotton-blend sheets. Initial softness in cotton sheets depend on the quality of the cotton used, and whether they have been pre-softened before you buy them. Having your sheets pre-softened means that they are usually more expensive, because of the extra time and processes involved. These sheets have not been pre-softened, so we are able to buy them cheaper than you would otherwise. Also note that all cotton sheets, especially higher TC sheets, WILL WRINKLE and take more time to dry! If you have multiple sets, which I recommend, fold the other set when it comes out of the dryer, putting your folded pillowcases between the bottom and top sheets so the weight naturally presses them, and put the set away. When you take them out to change sheets, the folded set will have lost most of the wrinkles. By alternating sheet sets, and folding the unused set, you shouldn't have to iron your sheets. If you are still unsatisfied with your minor wrinkles, or if you only have one set, you can iron your sheets if it really bugs you. These particular sheets are beautiful and have held up well after washing. They are exactly what you would expect from 1500 TC sheets, will last forever, and are far less expensive on the big O than elsewhere.
For a college graduation gift, we bought a new bed and mattress set for our daughter. We wanted it to be extra special so we bought her these 1500 count Egyptian sheets to go with it. She has mentioned several times how much she loves her sheets. Before purchasing these sheets we went to several department stores in the area and found nothing close to the quality of these sheets. They cost as much and/or more as these sheets yet they were much thinner and cheaper feeling. She loves the med blue color which we couldn't find anywhere else and she loves how thick and comfortable they are. She doesn't know it yet but we just ordered her the matching duvet cover for Christmas. We will be purchasing these sheets for our own bed as after seeing the quality of her sheets, it is difficult to be satisfied with our own much thinner sheets. In my opinion, it is well worth the extra money to buy these 100% Egyptian 1500 thread count sheets. What is more important than getting a good night of sleep? These sheets can make any bed feel comfortable and luxurious. One down side of these sheets is that they can wrinkle quickly if you don't put them on the bed immediately after they come out of the dryer, but our cheaper sheets are also like that.
We ordered these sheets after staying at a relative's house and falling in love with their luxuriously soft sheets. They told us they were from overstock and 1000 count, but didn't know any other details. I saw good reviews for these sheets, and thought "if 1000 count is soft and luxurious, 1500 count must be even better". So far we're not thrilled with these sheets. We've washed them 4 times and they still feel relatively stiff and not too soft. They also feel really heavy and will probably be great in the winter, but we're sweltering in them at night now during July. They don't feel at all breathable because they're so heavy. We're still hoping they'll get softer with a few more washes. We don't hate them, just hope they'll get better soon so they're more like what we expected.
These sheets are fabulous. The difference between a 1500 count sheet and the standard 400-600 is dramatic. I now want to dump all of my other sheet sets and replace them with more of these. They almost have a canvas-like weight to them, but they are dense and soft , and they feel fantastic. To temper my enthusiastic rave, I should note that my husband can't tell the difference between these sheets and our other, cheaper sets. So some folks may not be impressed, but I am wild about them. If you are the least bit picky about your bedding, you'll be in heaven if you get these.
You would think that 1500 "Egyptian Cotton" means exactly what it says; however, upon arrival the package read "Egyptian Gotton". That is exactly what happened. I had been "gotten". Within three week the TWO sets of sheets I bought were fuzzed up so bad I could not sleep on them. These sheets had only been washed two times: once upon purchase and once upon use. When I returned them to O.CO I was gotten AGAIN with over $$$ in "re-stock" fees for sheets that were a piece of crap to begin with. I will never shop at O.Co. again.
OK, so I get these sheets in the mail and immediately realize they are Sateen. So, I log on to Overstock and check the description. No where does it say they are Sateen. So, I chat with a representative and he finally confirms to me that they are Sateen. Not only are they Sateen but, they are now also 12% less than what I paid. The rep offers to credit me the difference which was nice but, these sheets are just too heavy for me in the summer months. I want the softness of 1500 thread count cotton sheets, not the shimmery feel of Sateen sheets. I'm sending them back and I am NOT being charged a re-stock fee (as somebody remarked) and I'm not paying for shipping either. :)
The bottom sheet has split down the middle. No explicable reason for this but defective material. Am attempting to contact Overstock right now for some resolution but they are very difficult to get to.
They fit, well made, feel great and we will be buying more!
My last 2 sets lasted 3 years and were used half the time(alternating) . Not long enough but I love them enough to bite the bullet again.
I have tried many different brands and thread counts over time and have been less than satisfied, but these sheets are the best! They fit my mattress which is adjustable with memory foam top (very thick) with room to spare and the feel and thickness of the sheets are amazing. Great quality, I will buy again!
