Egyptian Cotton 1500 TC Sheet Set
 from California,  Jan 20, 2011

I originally bought a set of these sheets in Cal King Medium Blue. I loved them so much that I bought two sets of the matching King pillowcases, and another sheet set and two more pillowcase sets in the Sage color. The 1500 TC pillowcase colors match the 1500 TC sheets perfectly, and are as pictured. Both Medium Blue sheets and pillowcases are a saturated medium blue color, although the Sage color is slightly less saturated than the picture on my monitor shows. Both Med Blue and Sage feel and look to be very expensive and high-quality. The sheets are very deep, and easily fit my 14 inch mattress with a mattress pad underneath, with room to spare. But People, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before you buy high Thread Count sheets. Don't give low reviews, or waste your money, simply because you were ignorant of what you were ordering. High TC sheets start out being heavy and a little stiff when you first open the package, but they soften up by washing and using them. The higher the TC, the heavier the sheets, so these sheets are heavy. Lower thread count sheets will be initially more pliable and more "airy" feeling, because there are fewer threads per square inch, so they actually are more airy since there is more air between threads. If you like light weight, airy sheets, get low TC or cotton-blend sheets. Initial softness in cotton sheets depend on the quality of the cotton used, and whether they have been pre-softened before you buy them. Having your sheets pre-softened means that they are usually more expensive, because of the extra time and processes involved. These sheets have not been pre-softened, so we are able to buy them cheaper than you would otherwise. Also note that all cotton sheets, especially higher TC sheets, WILL WRINKLE and take more time to dry! If you have multiple sets, which I recommend, fold the other set when it comes out of the dryer, putting your folded pillowcases between the bottom and top sheets so the weight naturally presses them, and put the set away. When you take them out to change sheets, the folded set will have lost most of the wrinkles. By alternating sheet sets, and folding the unused set, you shouldn't have to iron your sheets. If you are still unsatisfied with your minor wrinkles, or if you only have one set, you can iron your sheets if it really bugs you. These particular sheets are beautiful and have held up well after washing. They are exactly what you would expect from 1500 TC sheets, will last forever, and are far less expensive on the big O than elsewhere.

great sheets
from twin cities, MN,  Aug 24, 2009

For a college graduation gift, we bought a new bed and mattress set for our daughter. We wanted it to be extra special so we bought her these 1500 count Egyptian sheets to go with it. She has mentioned several times how much she loves her sheets. Before purchasing these sheets we went to several department stores in the area and found nothing close to the quality of these sheets. They cost as much and/or more as these sheets yet they were much thinner and cheaper feeling. She loves the med blue color which we couldn't find anywhere else and she loves how thick and comfortable they are. She doesn't know it yet but we just ordered her the matching duvet cover for Christmas. We will be purchasing these sheets for our own bed as after seeing the quality of her sheets, it is difficult to be satisfied with our own much thinner sheets. In my opinion, it is well worth the extra money to buy these 100% Egyptian 1500 thread count sheets. What is more important than getting a good night of sleep? These sheets can make any bed feel comfortable and luxurious. One down side of these sheets is that they can wrinkle quickly if you don't put them on the bed immediately after they come out of the dryer, but our cheaper sheets are also like that.

Sleep like the rich and famous!
 from Oregon,  Sep 14, 2010

These sheets are fabulous. The difference between a 1500 count sheet and the standard 400-600 is dramatic. I now want to dump all of my other sheet sets and replace them with more of these. They almost have a canvas-like weight to them, but they are dense and soft , and they feel fantastic. To temper my enthusiastic rave, I should note that my husband can't tell the difference between these sheets and our other, cheaper sets. So some folks may not be impressed, but I am wild about them. If you are the least bit picky about your bedding, you'll be in heaven if you get these.

Don't buy
from Harriman, TN,  Jan 3, 2012

You would think that 1500 "Egyptian Cotton" means exactly what it says; however, upon arrival the package read "Egyptian Gotton". That is exactly what happened. I had been "gotten". Within three week the TWO sets of sheets I bought were fuzzed up so bad I could not sleep on them. These sheets had only been washed two times: once upon purchase and once upon use. When I returned them to O.CO I was gotten AGAIN with over $$$ in "re-stock" fees for sheets that were a piece of crap to begin with. I will never shop at O.Co. again.

A real disappointment! Buyer Beware
from Atlatnta Ga,  Dec 15, 2011

I loved these sheets when I first received them! So much so that I ordered another pair. Then after a few months I noticed something peculiar about these sheets. The area where I sleep on seems to have developed pilling and is extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. I am extremely disappointed that this happened. I have a front load washer and dryer and followed all instructions for washing that were listed. I have bought sheets from Overstock.com for years and always loved them but this experience has made me reconsider my choice. Now I have two expensive pairs of sheets that I am wondering I can use for anything else. It did not happen right away so I assumed they were good. I am going to contact the company but I assume that it is too late to return. It is a shame as the color was vibrant and the heaviness of the sheets led me to believe that they would last a long time!

Disappointing!!!
 from Wisconsin,  Sep 3, 2011

I have been buying high thread count and high quality sheets for many years. I know that I should not expect the buttery softness from new sheets and that they will soften to perfection after repeated washings. I am so disappointed in the quality of these sheets. After only being washed a few times they have a pilling effect in spots. I think the quality of these sheets has been grossly misrepresented. I love ordering from Overstock and will continue take advantage of the great deals. However, in the future I will dig deeper into the reviews to get "the rest of the story". Frankly, it makes me wonder exactly who the people are that gave this set of sheets such raving reviews. They pill worse than a cheap set of 180 count sheets. Be warned... these are not quality sheets!

  • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Color was beautiful!

Poor quality
 from /Florida,  Jul 25, 2009

I ordered these sheets in June and have washed them 3 times. They have already started to have knotting of the fabric. I was very surprised, as most things, I have ordered from your site have been excellent. I would not recommend these to anyone. I ordered a set of queen sheets and a set of king sheets. Very disappointed.

Heavy sheets may soften with time?
from Birmingham, MI,  Jul 24, 2009

We ordered these sheets after staying at a relative's house and falling in love with their luxuriously soft sheets. They told us they were from overstock and 1000 count, but didn't know any other details. I saw good reviews for these sheets, and thought "if 1000 count is soft and luxurious, 1500 count must be even better". So far we're not thrilled with these sheets. We've washed them 4 times and they still feel relatively stiff and not too soft. They also feel really heavy and will probably be great in the winter, but we're sweltering in them at night now during July. They don't feel at all breathable because they're so heavy. We're still hoping they'll get softer with a few more washes. We don't hate them, just hope they'll get better soon so they're more like what we expected.

The Best
 from Delaware,  Oct 3, 2010

After visiting with my sister who had these on her guest bed, I came right home and ordered them. They are so thick and soft and, unlike some of the other reviewers, don't think they wrinkle much. They are so thick that I wash the top and bottom sheets separately and also dry them separately. There was very little shrinkage. After sleeping on these, my previous sheets (that I bought from a VERY high end catalog and spent twice as much) felt threadbare and cheap. I'm ordering a second set today. When I wake mornings and while still getting my thoughts together, I run my hands between the sheets and marvel at how luxurious they feel. Always brings a smile ot my face and I nestle in while trying to convince myself to get out of bed - - not an easy thing to do when sleeping on these sheets. Thanks Overstock.

Guess it's my turn
from San Diego CA,  Oct 7, 2009

I have bought 1500 count sheets from Overstock several times and have absolutely loved them. I had noticed some reviews that say the sheets were of poorer quality, rough and stiff, but those were far between great reviews. I had never had that problem till this time around. I don't know why this would be, but the sheets this time are just that. Stiff and rough and disappointing. Not to mention, it was a 2nd order because the first order they sent the wrong color. Bummed

Misleading
from Tucson, Arizona,  Apr 3, 2010

I had purchased sheets from Overstock approximately 5 years ago. They were 1000 thread count and were of an excellent quality. When it was time for new sheets, I again went to Overstock. My first order was 1000 thread count. The sheets were so thick, I could barely unfold them. Maybe the quality of this product had changed over the years? I returned these and proceeded to order 1500 thread count. Again these sheets were extremely thick, difficult to maneuver and not as soft as I had hoped. Doubting myself, I reread the Overstock reviews and other consumers had washed the sheets and stated they were pleased. I washed them several times and they are still not soft. I would not recommend these sheets. As an individual that enjoys soft, luxurious bedding, this product is misleading and a huge dissappointment. Either the previous reviews have been sleeping on 200 thread count sheets or consumers no longer expect quality.

rough sheets
from Stillwater, OK,  Feb 3, 2010

Our past few sheet purchases have been in the 800 - 1000 thread count range, so I thought more thread count would be better. Wrong. The sheets are heavy, which I expected. They are also as rough as a burlap sack, however. I was not expecting this. So, ultimately I don't have enough experience with 1500 tc sheets to know if this is simply a characteristic of 1500 tc sheets or this particular brand. Either way, I will purchase 800 - 1000 tc sateen sheets next time.

Best sheets ever
from Springfield, MO,  Apr 25, 2009

I read the other reviews before purchasing these sheets. My husband and I agree; these are the best sheets we have ever slept on. He has extremely sensitive skin, so comfort was a priority. I was surprised they needed to be washed using a gentle cycle and dried on low heat. With my high efficiency washer and not so much dryer, the sheets are easy to care for, no ironing needed if you take them out of the dryer as soon as the cycle ends. We liked these sheets so much we ordered another pair.

Decent, but heavy
 from CA,  Oct 31, 2010

It seems like the luxury sheet industry has decided to market itself purely on thread-count, which used to be a good measure of how fine and silky a given set of sheets might be. But that no longer works. These sheets could be the poster-child for the problem. Claiming a magnificent 1500 thread-count, what you have is not ultra-fine threads lined up in perfect order giving you a single weave of surpassing perfection, but instead what I'd describe as a very heavy canvas of normal sized threads woven together to deliver the required thread count, but resulting in a VERY heavy sheet that's more about thickness and weight than about silky perfection and texture. I decent sheet, but not near as nice as some 500 thread count sheets I've used in the past. Good news, it didin't cost much. Can anyone manage to make a serious luxury sheet with ultra-fine threads woven tight and perfect like what the 800 thread count sheets of 20 years ago did?

Horrible, Do not buy this
from Fontana, CA,  Jan 31, 2012

My husband and I bought the 1000 thread count sheets about 3 years ago and loved them so much that was all we used, they would go in the wash and then right back on the bed, at first they were thick and heavy but after awhile they wore in and became like butter soft. When our sheets wore out I thought that I am going to get the 1500 thread count sheets and they will last even longer and be well worth the money. When the sheets came they were Egyptian Cotton but made in China and boy were they really thin, not the heaviness or quality I was expecting so I sent them back and I am going to buy two sets of the 1000 count sheets. These are not worth the money and I think that you will be sorry if you get them.

Buyer beware
from Needville, TX,  Dec 6, 2008

I thought I would listen to the majority of the reviews here, wash the sheets a couple times and be in bliss. Boy was I wrong. I could not even sleep 2 full nights on these, it felt like I was sleeping on a heavy sail. I expected a thick, snuggly sheet and what I got was over-heating and scratchy. Maybe after a dozen more washings it would be better, but for half the price I'll stick with my 800 TC sheets that are comfy out of the package.

Not recommended
from Soda Springs, ID,  May 15, 2013

OK, so I get these sheets in the mail and immediately realize they are Sateen. So, I log on to Overstock and check the description. No where does it say they are Sateen. So, I chat with a representative and he finally confirms to me that they are Sateen. Not only are they Sateen but, they are now also 12% less than what I paid. The rep offers to credit me the difference which was nice but, these sheets are just too heavy for me in the summer months. I want the softness of 1500 thread count cotton sheets, not the shimmery feel of Sateen sheets. I'm sending them back and I am NOT being charged a re-stock fee (as somebody remarked) and I'm not paying for shipping either. :)

1500 sheets
 from Michigan,  Dec 22, 2010

I like the thickness of the sheets especially for the winter. The color and the edging at the top of the sheet was great. But the softness was not there even after 4 washes and following the manufacturers instructions on how to do so. For the money and the high thread count, they lacked the quality I expected.

Egyptian Cotton
from Denver, CO,  Nov 24, 2010

These Egyptian Cotton sheets are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. FYI they are really heavy so they may be cold weather only sheets. I would consider a lesser thread-count for year round use
