I think most of the reviewers below know what they want in a set of sheets but do not necessarily know what to look for. You should realize that there are many factors that affect a sheet’s thread count. The ply of the fabric: Single-ply fabrics use threads on their own as opposed to double-ply fabrics that are made up of two pieces of thread twisted together. So technically, a thread count of 800 could be made of only 400 double-ply threads or could contain 800 single-ply threads. If you are looking for a heavier, more durable sheet set, choose fabric with double-ply fabric. Single-ply fabric sheets are going to appear thinner and more delicate. Different types of cotton sheets: Egyptian cotton is praised for its breathability and is highly absorbent. Pima cotton, grown in the Southwest United States and in South America, is known to be long lasting and a staple in large households. Know the weave you are after. For a silk-like cotton sheet, closely woven percale sheeting is the best option. Flannel cotton sheets, with a twill weave, maintain a raised surface that delivers a fluffy appearance along with an ultra soft and cozy feel. For some stretch in your sheets, the plain-stitch knitted jersey sheet would be your best bet. And for a more luxurious appearance, the sateen weave would be appropriate with its weave construction placing most of the threads on the surface. With that said, this set of sheets are very durable and heavier than most you would find at Kohl’s or Macy’s, soft but not silky soft and they have a subtle beautiful sateen sheen to them. This makes them thicker, not necessarily softer. I love the weight of these sheets and have purchased a few sets myself. They do soften up after time but they will never be the super silky soft that some of you below were/are looking for. However they will last a long, long time. If you are looking for super soft and silky you would need to look for a closely woven cotton percale. Save some money, do a little research before purchasing something you feel is costly. It will save you frustration, time and money, and not to mention it will save the store from a crappy review and loss of business. Hope this helps future sheet purchasers!
I have 1500 thread count sheets which I love and these are just as good. Easily fit my Cal King pillow top mattress. Only possible criticism is that the top sheet could be wider to give more room to tuck it in at the sides but most sheets are that way. Would definitely buy again.
These sheets are very luxurious, and high quality. Sure, they come out wrinkled - anything with a high thread count is going to come out wrinkled. Personally, I don't really care. When folded up for storage, they take up about 3 times as much as my older "regular" sheets. I'm planning to get rid of all my old sheets because after sleeping on these, I don't think I can settle for anything else. The elastic on the fitted sheet is quality sewn in and very "grippy". The seems and edges are done with care. I have washed them twice now and they have not shrunk at all. The white, is very white. They look great with my white damask duvet cover and white damask bedskirt. You can't even come close to 1,000 threadcount sheets in the store for this price. I will be back for more, once I get sick of washing the same set over and over.
..are very thick, which is why I like them, but they are not as soft as I thought they would be. They were quite expensive, so I thought I would be sleeping in luxury, but not quite. They are sturdy and don't slip around, which is nice. They are just cotton, not velvet, or clouds, or anything else.
I've purchased several sheet sets from overstock, all of which have been 1000 - 1200 TC. When I initially received these sheets, they had a nice sateen finish. This disappeared after only one wash. They also aren't nearly as soft as the other sets I've bought. Perhaps this will improve with several more washings. The deep pockets are great for a pillow-top mattress though. Overall, however, there are much better, more comfortable sets on Overstock for your money.
We greatly enjoy these sheets!!!! Much more comfortable than the flannel they replaced!!! Grate product and excellent service..
We are very happy with these sheets, they look like nice and feel great.
These sheets looked great right out of the package..they're very heavy! But they can only be washed in cold and they definitely need to be ironed even if you take them out of the dryer immediately. Some of the seams are pulling apart after only 2 washings. I probably would not recommend these...who has time to iron their sheets!!
I had been using 300 thread sheets from from a warehouse store that had a slight silky feel (which I really like). These sheets from Overstock have a "thick" feel, but do not have the silk feel of my 300 count sheets. I guess I was expecting an exponential difference in quality between the sheets, but there really wasn't. Next time I'm going to investigate what exactly Egyptian thread count means....as it is different from what I have purchased in the past. The color is pleasant and delivery was prompt....Quality was fine, but I probably wouldn't buy these again...as the price difference was too great, the sheets didn't have that smooth feel on the skin. My two cents.
We have bought a number of sheet sets from the O. We started with 400 thread count and have steadily gone up. We have loved each set. However, this 1000 thread count Egyptian Cotton set is truly awesome. You feel like you are sleeping in a really POSH hotel room...awesome and so comfortable. Great job OVERSTOCK! And the price was really great---you can't find this caliber of sheets in most department stores.! We WILL be buying more!
I purchased 1000 thread count sheets from Overstock last year and they are absolutely fabulous; very thick, very soft, just perfect. So, I thought I would do it again this year. Well, these aren't the same sheets as before. First, the packaging is cheap, which doesn't make for a good gift presentation. Secondly, the sheets aren't as soft as one would expect; they feel more like 250 thread count. The overall quality is poor. I wouldn't recommend these sheets to anyone for this price. Maybe I would if they were $49.00 instead.
I have been looking for over a year. I love the feel of these sheets and the quality is great. I have a water bed and I was not sure how well they would stay on the bed or even fit. They fit perfect and they stay put and I am not having to adjust them at all. They work better than my water bed sheets do. I will be buying another set real soon.
Very nice sheets....Need to be washed about 5 times to feel the softness....Very heavy sheets... Good quality....

These sheets feel so wonderful. I washed them before using them and they were supple, while still being substancial. They feel wonderful, and are just what I wanted. They don't seem to wrinkle very much. The blue color is beautiful, but it is not quite as bright as the picture. The color is certainly vibrant; it it just more muted than the picture. The sheets fit my huge mattress easily. I once had a pair of silk sheets and these have the same smooth, soft feel, but they are of heavier material. I feel they will last for years, and only get better. I want another set.

I've now purchased 3 sets of these sheets over the years. One set I've had for 5+ years, obviously have washed them MANY times, and they are still in perfect condition. Very soft and luxurious, especially after multiple washings. Take them out of the dryer as soon as the cycle is done and you won't have many wrinkles. I highly recommend this product.

I've never owned good quality sheets before. These are fantastic. Soft and smooth but not slippery like satin. I liked the weigtht of the fabric. I bought a matching duvet cover as well. I would highly recommend these sheets and I will likely buy another set. The only gripe I have is that I paid more for them than they are listed at now.

This is the second set of 1000 thread count sheets I have ordered from Overstock. I have absolutely loved the thickness of the material and the softness of these sheets at night, which is why I ordered another set. My problem is the fit. I have washed these sheets per instruction and both have shrunk to the point where they are a struggle to put on. I have come to dread "sheet day" and am inspired to write today because I actually injured myself trying to get the fitted sheet on my mattress. I count "sheet day" as part of my exercise regime, it's so taxing. Who cares if the darned things wrinkle? I'd put up with nothing but a ball of wrinkles if only the stupid sheets would just fit. As of today, I've had it. Back to cheaper albeit more reliable lower thread count sheets. Disappointed but exhausted and in pain.
