Questions & Answers
Thank you reason17 for the question about the Dream Form Eco-friendly 1-inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper. The mattress was treated as it said with a "anti-microbial environmentally friendly treatment" in which is in laymen terms for me to understand is a "Hydrogen peroxide treatment". Apparentally the hydrogen peroxide is a great, non toxic way to keep an item anti-microbial with out making it unsafe for us to use and so that the microbes don't become tolerant to treatment and then morph into something else. The fire safe "flammability standards" it talks about is a design to the foam in the mattress itself, that when heat gets to the mattress, it would melt or shrink down when the heat is near it so that it just doesn't burst into flames with a person sleeping on it as the old foam used to do. If it says that it has been treated chemically with a fire retardant then steer clear of those because the chemicals are more dangerous than anything else. I will also address your other question here about being "Eco-friendly". It is this because of the use of the natural treatments for anti-microbial protection, new fire safe technology instead of chemicals, it has replaced approximately 10% of the old petroleum based oils that make the foam with natural oils like castor oil and olive oil ect. Also as it is being made the foam has to have agents to help it expand and be soft and some companies use hash chemical solvents but if it is eco-friendly they tend to infuse just a distilled water in it to make it more friendly. There are a lot of other things and I could go on for days but I think you will understand what it is now. I know I learned a lot today researching this for you. We hope this was helpful and thank you for shopping Overstock.com.

does this topper have the typical memory foam smell to it? If so, how long does it really take to be gone? Thanks. Ken

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body.
