We have always had good down goose feather pillows to sleep on our bed. These are not good. If they have feather I do not know were. Very hard. I have tried one that is why I am not retuning them. It has hurt my neck every time is have used it. I have them in king size. The only thing they are good for is to put into shams. And this is a lot of money for just to use them for shams. I did buy them because of the price. The old saying is you get what you pay for. Hope this helps someone.

It has been a long time since I purchased Goose Feather pillows. They are such a luxury, and always wonderful for sleeping. Yes, I was concerned at purchasing online, and being unable to inspect them for quality. But I took the plunge, and the quality is perfect - exactly how I remember them!

I haven't used the product. I sent it to my wife who works in the Chicago market. She is particularly fussy about her pillows. I sent her these and she said it's the best sleep she's had in many weeks.

The pillows are firm and full of 75% goose down. They are very comfortable and exactly what I desired. You will not be disappointed. There was no odor although I aired them out before I put them in pillow protectors and then in their pillowcases.

I was very happy with the quality and loft of these pillows, so much so that I am considering buying two more in queen size. This was my first purchase from Overstock.com and I found the overall experience to be very good.

I purchased Good Down pillows for myself, they were TERRIFIC, so I decided to purchase some for my daughter for Christmas, i clicked on a picture that popped up on the side of my screen thinking the pillows were the same as the ones I purchased, I realized that they were $XX.XX more and called Overstock/live chat actually.... he tracked down the problem.. he said "you purchased Goosedown FEATHER Pillows, a different product... the pillows were delivered to her home/Newport Beach, we came for Christmas from Las Vegas, she opened the box only to find the WORST PILLOWS WITH THE FEATHERS POKING THRU... they were stiff and "CRUNCHY".. I would never had purchased down FEATHER pillows, these are AWFUL.. I am waiting for the ones I purchased to come back in stock..

Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills. Two major considerations when purchasing a down comforter are content and construction. The Federal Trade Commission has standards set that specify labeling procedures for products that contain down. If the label of a down comforter reads 100 percent down, the comforter must contain down feathers exclusively. The same is true if the label reads pure down or all down. Most down comforters are made with goose down, but some may include down feathers from other species of fowl. Look below to learn how to buy a down comforter.
Depending on the fill, a down comforter can function as a cold weather staple or a comfortable lightweight cover. Fill refers to the different grade of goose down feather used in down bedding. The higher the fill number, the larger the down clusters and warmth factor. There are several factors to be considered when choosing a down comforter, so keep reading for some useful tips on how to pick the right fill for down comforters.
Warm in the winter and cool in the summer, down comforters offer the ultimate in comfort and insulation. Down is the soft, fluffy growth found under the outer layer of breast feathers on geese and ducks, insulating them from extreme temperatures. Down is lighter and more flexible than feathers, which is why it's so popular for use in down bedding. When used to fill comforters, it gives you the ultimate in year-round comfort. Out of all the bedding made, quilts may be the most diverse. Quilts are produced in all kinds of colors, patterns, sizes, styles and types. If you're looking for a quilt but don't know where to start, take a look at the popular types of quilts below to learn more about this beautiful kind of bedding. Amish quilts: These beautiful quilts reflect the Amish way of living and feature solid colors, deep hues, geometric patterns and very little embellishment. Amish quilts contain the highest quality of construction and stitching, and, sometimes, the wonderful stitch patterns (scrolls, feathers) contrast with the simple backgrounds of their quilts. Applique quilts: These quilts use a French needlework technique where fabric pieces are sewn onto another piece of material to create a design. Applique is used extensively in the quilting process and is not to be confused with patchwork. Patchwork pieces are joined together; applique is sewn on top of the whole piece. Baltimore album quilts: Baltimore album quilts came from Maryland in the early 1800s. Each block in the design of these quilts is appliqued differently, often in ornate floral patterns. Bangladeshi quilts: These quilts are made with layers of Saree cloth. Saree cloth is silk cloth used by women of India to wrap and fold around the body as a garment. The cloth is usually 40 to 60 inches wide by 6 yards long. These quilts are used as bedding or as decorative pieces. Bargello quilts: Bargello quilts are created with offset squares in an up-and-down geometric "V" pattern. The small squares of different fabrics and the colorful designs make these quilts true works of art. Hawaiian quilts: Hawaiian quilts are not pieced, and they usually showcase a large, symmetrical applique in the center of the quilt. Most often the background is white or another solid color. Patchwork quilts: Patchwork quilts are constructed of many small pieces of fabric which are put together in an improvised or irregular pattern. This is a well-known quilt style, and examples of historical patchwork quilts are found in many museums. Ralli quilts: Ralli quilts, sometimes known as rilli quilts, are traditional quilts made in India or Pakistan. There is an abundance of embroidery as well as applique on the patchwork patterns. Star quilts: Star quilts are created with a large star shape, or several star shapes, dominating the pattern. Wedding ring quilts: Wedding ring quilts are crafted in a design of interlocking rings. This pattern goes far back in history: in the fourth century it was used to decorate drinking cups in Rome. Wedding ring quilts are highly popular and make wonderful wedding gifts. If you're looking for a gift to please an engaged couple, you can't go wrong with a wedding quilt. Bedding always makes a significant gift for the bride and groom, and a quilt with coordinating Egyptian cotton sheets can be even better. View All Quilts Back to Guides Directory View All Quilts
