I would only recommend if they liked sleeping with their head up in the air. I was persuade by other reviewers who complained about the pillows not being firm enough to buy this pillow. For my liking, it id way too firm. I like my head to sink into the pillow. As far as I am concerned, that's what down pillows are for. If you do not like your head to sink in, don't buy down!

Terrific pillow and so much better than the Tommy Bahama duo I purchased from O a few months ago. I was thrilled to see options for different levels of firmness when I was deciding whether to purchase. I chose the King Extra Firm and proceeded with my order. Having already tried it and having slept through the night, I found that the pillow that was supposed to be "extra firm" is by no means firm at all. However, it is heavier, it has good density and, being feather and down, is certainly of much higher quality than I had been using in the past.

This is definitely for side sleepers. The pillow will not sink down or need refluffing throughout the night. Still it is soft against your face. It may be a bit high if you roll over onto your back, so may be too firm for side+back use.

The pillows are firm and full of 75% goose down. They are very comfortable and exactly what I desired. You will not be disappointed. There was no odor although I aired them out before I put them in pillow protectors and then in their pillowcases.

They had no bad odor after a day in a room with a fresh air source and the occasional fluff. They are very plump and well constructed. I am a side sleeper and can get just the right comfort to sleep or prop myself up for a book. I purchased the King size and up to now am very pleased that I made the purchase.

This pillow is quite firm for a goose down fill, though not firm enough for me. I found that my head would sink half-way into it and that is a problem. I need to have my head rest quite high. It is comfortable and gently cradles one's head, so it should please many looking for a moderate amount of support.

I was really looking forward to these pillows and must say I am disappointed. When an advertisement states "white goose down pillow" that is what I expect. That is not what I got. The tag says "Downlite, finest quality, expert craftsmanship, minimum 75% white goose down" and these are indeed "lite" on the down. There is nothing exceptional about them, they are ok, but the texture and feel of the pillow tells me there is at least 25% feathers in there and that is not what I was looking for. And there are little prickly things poking thru the cover. Now what to do with them? I won't put something in the guest room that I wouldn't use myself. My dog is looking hopeful

Hard as a rock. No sensation of sinking down into a lovely goose down pillow. Husband liked they are as hard as a rock. Pillows also had a mild odor, and not a good one. Hubby and guests can use them.

These pillows are great....I've ordered down pillows before from overstock, this time decided to go with the higher fill for a longer lasting pillow. These however are just a bit firmer than what i expected, but still extremely comfortable. One trick i've learned it a good way to fluff up the pillow after you take it out of the box is to put it in the dryer on air fluff/..NO HEAT for 10 minutes and WOW! Good rule of thumb would be to do this every month or so and you will always get extra life out of you down. I think these pillows had a 700+ fill but seeing how firm they are you can really get by with 650 if you prefer a little softer feel.

A little more firm than I like but then it did say "firm". Love down pillows and they last for years so worth the money. Love that it's machine washable.

I bought one, and was very skeptical because I have purchased more expensive down pillows and was unsatisfied. This pillow blew me away with how firm it was for being down. In fact, the maker of this pillow is the same as one I ordered from a very exclusive site that sells only high-quality items. I had ordered both around the same time, and promptly returned the non-Overstock item and then ordered three more! Love these pillows!

I am VERY particular about pillows. I have bought and returned several pillows over the past few years looking for the perfect firmness since I am both a side and back sleeper. I ordered two of these in the queen size and they are as near to perfect in firmness and loft that I believe I will ever get. They fluff extremely well with minimal shaking and are the firmest goose down pillows I've ever felt. They are still very soft and easy to melt into. Great buy for the price considering the amount of down in each pillow. Department stores usually charge 2 or 3 times as much for duck down pillows. In writing this, I'm actually thinking I should purchase a couple more to put away for later use.

After returning several pillows from local stores, this one is by far the best. It is the firmest down pillow I could find without spending a bundle! I want to get more. Keeps firmness. Excellent comfort!

I haven't used the product. I sent it to my wife who works in the Chicago market. She is particularly fussy about her pillows. I sent her these and she said it's the best sleep she's had in many weeks.

Great pillows and worth the money !! They keep their shape and are firm but not so much that you can't sink your head down and get comfortable. They are much better than the last goose down pillows that I bought. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a great firm and comfortable pillow !

I haven't purchased a down pillow in years, because they usually are so soft that they flatten down during the night and don't provide enough head support. I tried one firm goose down pillow from another vender before buying this one, and it was so hard it made my ear hurt after sleeping on it. This one has turned out to be great for me. It is without a doubt firm - packed with feathers. If it was any firmer, it woudl be too much for me. If I push my palm firmly down on the top of the pillow towards the mattress, there is about 4" of pillow remaining between the top of the pillow and the mattress. The feathers don't stick through, and the cotton cover is high quality. I wasn't 100% sold after the first night, but now I am and I'll definitely keep it. If you are looing for a goose down pillow with substance, this may be the perfect one for you!

these feather and down pillows are very soft and luxurious feeling. You can punch them down, fold them in half for more firmness or fluff them up for extra softness. If you're not used to sleeping on feather pillows, they'll take some getting used to but I love them, especially the fact that they don't overheat your head the way synthetic materials do.
