Overall, this featherbed was very comfortable. My boyfriend absolutely loves it. My only complaint is that I can feel the feathers poking me through the sheets in some areas.

I love this featherbed!!! I was lucky enough to also get a feather comforter from an aunt so I am sleeping sound and comfy!!!! I just use a simple fitted sheet over it on top of my matress at the moment. One of my next buys will be a feathbed cover because I find that it is easiest to fluff the featherbed ON TOP OF THE MATRESS, then the feather comforter w/ the duvet. Making my bed was never easier!!!! :)

I have had this featherbed for about 6 months and it's held up very well. I clean the sheets and fluff it about once a week or once every two weeks. I have pulled out a few feathers here and there because they come thru the fabric, but for the price this was ok.

This featherbed still fluffs up, nice and lofty. I accidentally purchased an "extra-firm" mattress, and needed something to make it softer. This down topper is a good value for that purpose. The pros: No noticeable odor, Fluffs pretty easily and stays lofty for a week or so, reasonable price, makes bed "higher" and cozier. Feathers don't poke-through unless you flip the featherbed over. The cons: Since the pointy side of the feathers have some sort of magnetic attraction to the bed, you can fluff this and rotate it, but cannot flip it upside-down, or it feels like you're sleeping on a porcupine. It would be nicer if the fabric had a higher thread count or double-layer design to prevent this. Also, the baffle-box contruction has small channels that allow feathers to move in between the quilted squares. This causes extra feathers to accumulate at the very top, bottom, and sides of the featherbed. Fluffing occasionally requires pushing the extra feathers back into their respective baffles. All in all, for the price, I would recommend this item. So what if you have to take 5 extra minutes to fluff it every time you change your sheets?

This featherbed was everything I expected and my expectations were high. This was not my first featherbed; I used one when I was pregnant with my daughters more than 20 years ago. I was seeking something to help ease my shoulder and back pain. For those who commented about getting poked by feathers, all I can say is they must be first time owners. Featherbeds need to be covered, otherwise they absorb all your body oils. You can use a featherbed cover, place it between your mattress and fitted sheet (if you have extra deep sheets) or do what I do, just use a fitted sheet and put it on top of your regular bed sheet and mattress. I like to do it this way so I can fluff it daily. That way every night is extra cushy. I have had zero poke issues and this unit compares well with units selling at the full retail price of this one so I feel it was an exceptional bargain. I'll probably get two more for my girls.

We purchased another featherbed 2 1/2 " thick, people said it was comfortable and they didn't have to buy another mattress. It was $54.00 at another site. Well we ended up sending it back that day. It was super thin in a lot of the baffles. It stank like gasoline. Then I saw this one on Overstock, it was double the price but double the thickness. You get what you pay for. You know those pillow top mattresses that you are not supposed to even turn over? Well we are able to, and put the feather bed on top of that. It is just like we have a new mattress. I love it, and I used to hate down. Also this comes with the case and I have felt no feathers poking through. My sheet fits over my mattress and the featherbed also.

This featherbed is delightful and really helped to soften up an older mattress. I've had it for about 6 months now and it's still maintained its fluff and the filling is still evenly distributed where it should be. I would some times get a rogue feather poking out, but putting another sheet between myself and the featherbed resolved that.

I've had this featherbed for a couple of years now. I wouldn't put it under a fitted sheet because it will get flat very quickly. It works best if you sleep directly on it. However, it needs a cover, otherwise you will get stabbed by feathers! It's quite heavy too. But a good feather bed for my needs.

If you are a fan of featherbed sleeping...look no further! this is the perfect choice! This product is Very well made! Comes with a removable cover...and is box baffled, so the feathers and down stay in place! We have been sleeping on this featherbead for four months now, and not one feather has poked thru!!! When I change the sheets every sunday nite, I simply give it a little shake on all four corners, and it stays comfy and plump all week! I have had many featherbeds over the years,,,,but this is the best value and quality ever! and I have purchased many from the high level Vermont and Massechusetts vendors, and this one is a better product! Thank you overstock!

This featherbed makes my old mattress much more comfortable, and was a good buy on sale for around $50! It stays soft without getting too matted down, but I shake it out a bit every 1-2 weeks when changing the sheets. My old mattress was getting to the point of causing back soreness, but so far the featherbed has helped to prevent back pain in the morning!

Looked on many sites and finally found this featherbed The featherbed is very well made and included a cotton cover sheet (Made like a duvet) to protect it at no additional charge!!! The baffling and the cover keep it from shifting so it doesn't flatten out or have feathers poking out. Love it!!!

This is a great, thick featherbed that comes with it's own cover (although the cover isn't needed, but it can prevent the inevitable down quills from poking through). As it is 5-inches thick, you will need extra deep sheets, most likely, so that is something to keep in mind. The featherbed is both soft and sturdy. However, it does require occassional fluffing, as like any featherbed, the interior starts to redistribute itself after repeated use. I am pleased with this purchase and recommend this product.

I bought this as an addition or replacement to my memory foam topper. I'm so tired of waking up all hot and sweaty with the memory foam, even though it's comfy with my back and arthritis. My original mattress is horrible. The first night I was hot again, but I had seen a suggestion somewhere that it helps if you put a flannel sheet on top of the memory foam under the featherbed. Ding! Ding! We have a winner! I'm a nurse and I work 12-15 hours a few days a week and when I come home and see that fluffy bed waiting for me, I just immediately relax. (I'm not going to say it's like sleeping on a cloud. I've never slept on one, so I wouldn't know.) I put a flannel blanket in between and haven't had any problems, I fluff it every day or every other day as needed. The cover is high quality and feels as though it will last a long time. I haven't had any issues with feathers poking out. The big test will be this summer. If I get hot again, I may have another opinion about it, but so far this spring, I'm really happy with it.

I have never had a featherbed before but very much have wanted one for quite a while....so I don't have anything to compare this to. However, it's delightful to sink into after a long day! I just keep it on top of my fitted sheet because you have to fluff it up every couple days and that would be too much work to take the fitted sheet off to fluff it. The cover that comes with it is VERY good quality, as well....and it's really nice that they provide that! A lot of them do not come with a cover; you have to buy it extra. This featherbed is very nice and fluffy and it also fluffs up pretty easily. Of course, when you lay on it, it flattens out a bit, but it's still comfy! I really love my featherbed and am glad that I purchased it (and so is my pup!!) It's wonderful to sleep between my featherbed and my down comforter....it makes me feel spoiled!

I shopped other sites and stores before settling on this featherbed. As other reviewers commented, it makes up for a too firm mattress and it's a lot less expensive than replacing the mattress. It's also quite heavy. It does get smooshed down as you would expect but I don't like taking off all the sheets to fluff it so that only happens when I change the sheets. But the indentation caused by sleeping in one spot is still soft and cuddly. I also have problems with being too hot at night and this has not made it any worse (contrary to what some reviewers stated). I have slept much better since I put this on my bed. As usual, Overstock delivered quickly and you can't beat the free shipping.

This featherbed is good buy for the price. It it very comfortable, and surprising well made, but I have had a few problems with some of the longer quills poking through the cover. It can be easily remedied by using an extra sheet for a cover. Overall it's a good buy and that I would recommend.

First off the cover was not in the box with the Featherbed, so I had to email Overstock about that. They were very prompt and courteous, and the cover was received a few days later . Its just too much trouble to have to fluff this every day as it mats down almost flat. I put a mattress pad and fitted sheet over the featherbed, and those have to be removed to fluff the mattress which is hard for me to do as I have arthritis in my hands. It takes about ten or fifteen shakes, then I turn it over and fluff again. I have to remake the whole bed just to fluff the featherbed. I put this on top of a memory foam mattress which is not all that great ( too soft ), and it hasn't improved the firmness or my quality of sleep which I was hoping for. This might work better on a very firm mattress. I am disappointed and now wish I just ordered a whole new mattress. On a positive note, the cover was very easy to put on the featherbed and its a very good quality material.

I ordered this to replace another featherbed, and thought it would be great to have the skirt combined with the featherbed, only minus is that the sheet doesn't really fit really well over the feather bed. That's the ONLY thing. The sheet does still stay in place. I just pull the sheet a little further down. I do not have a pillow top mattress. It's an older mattress. I have been sleeping on this for four nights, and it stays in place, the feathers don't stick through, the feathers don't shift, and the mattress that was sooo uncomfortable before, has new life due to this featherbed. To me, it's a great value, comfortable, and nice looking, fits well. Overtstock.com shipped quickly, within a week.

This featherbed is really heavy and all the feather shifted. I have tons of feather on the edge of the bed but none in the middle where I usually sleep. I end up removing this from my bed because it's not good and just buying a nice sheet protector and sleeping on that.

Love this featherbed! It feels like I got a new mattress. I read some reviews from people stating that they got poked with feathers - it's so random that I feel that that is really isn't an issue for me. I "fluff" it every time I change my sheets and love crawling in bed at night. It's thin enough that sheets still fit without a problem, yet soft and cushiony enough to feel like a nice feather bed. I highly recommend this product!

I've tried many foam toppers looking for what would work for me. I finally tried the featherbed topper. So far I love it. You do have to fluff it often but I don't mind that. I simply lift the bottom fitted sheet and shake it up and down. I also rotate it when changing the sheets. I love the feel how it hugs your body. Great product. After trying foam where you sink in and have the hole this when fluffed doesn't do that.

The sheets, blankets, and pillow coverings you choose can be part of what helps you have a good night's sleep. Your bedding will also influence the style and feel of your bedroom, so you'll want to consider different looks when you're shopping. Here are some tips on buying bedding that you'll love.
A mattress pad is a helpful yet often-overlooked bedding item. Mattress pads are multifunctional; they can protect your mattress, provide extra cushioning and softness, and keep your bed sheets from sliding out of place. Contemporary mattress pads come in various styles and types, each made to fill a specific purpose. These answers to frequently asked questions about mattress pads will help you shop for the pad that's right for your bed.
Two major considerations when purchasing a down comforter are content and construction. The Federal Trade Commission has standards set that specify labeling procedures for products that contain down. If the label of a down comforter reads 100 percent down, the comforter must contain down feathers exclusively. The same is true if the label reads pure down or all down. Most down comforters are made with goose down, but some may include down feathers from other species of fowl. Look below to learn how to buy a down comforter.
Mattress pads serve a variety of functions. They add comfort to your mattress, they change its texture, and they protect it from stains. Finding the right mattress pad can be tricky, but it's not impossible. Take a look at the article below to learn how to choose mattress pads.
A great night's rest is one of the best ways to have a great day, which is why the comfort of your bed is so important. Ensuring its comfort is a simple process, so there should be no excuse for restless nights. If you feel like your bed isn't as enjoyable as it should be, try following these steps. It may not take much to improve your sleep.
There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
