    It seems like a good idea, and an alternative to higher-priced, synthetic memory foam pads. Until you actually sleep on it. Some of the previous reviewers were spot on - it's comfortable for the first night, and then all of the feathers migrate (even with the baffling) to the outer edges, leaving a very uncomfortable "dip" in the middle. If you purchase this, you MUST do as the Europeans do, and shake and fluff this pad every single day, or you're in for some tossing and turning. The only problem with this is (at least for a queen sized featherbed), the thing weighs about 40 lbs. and is very heavy and awkward to move around. It takes two people to actually get it off the bed and fluff it up correctly. Also, I'm not one to be un-making and making my bed again every single day. I like to make it and go. On the days when I couldn't fluff up this featherbed, I could count on a restless night's sleep. I was very unhappy with this, and ended up returning this product (which in and...

    The first night was like sleeping on a cloud! The pad settles a bit, but I just keep turning and shaking it... my back and limb problems have all but disappeared! I used to wake up achy on my 14 inch latex/foam bed (which is firm like I like), but I had planned on buying a topper I could flip and turn if I wanted, and replace if necessary.. I would never buy a bed with a built in topper, because they all eventually flatten out.....plus you can't flip the bed....this topper was the perfect solution. Again, like sleeping on a cloud...I have also tried down or feather beds...not supportive at all...this wool topper is the best topper of all. Also, no smells, light enough to shake out and flip / turn. No sleeping hot either. Also, I would not get a thinner one. In the words of Goldilocks this topper makes my bed "just right"!
