I love this comforter! My husband and I are both comfortable under it. With a down comforter, I end up taking it off and putting it back on during the night, as I get hot or cold; with this silk comforter it seems to regulate the heat and keep us comfortable all night.

This light weight comforter is warm, without the "stuffy" feeling that one gets from synthetic-filled comforters. The lightness of the weight is good most nights that don't go down to below freezing.

What an amazing comforter, especially for the price - you definitely can't beat it. I almost didn't want to put a duvet cover over it because it is as soft as silk. Perfect for all seasons!

It is heavier than I thought it would be. With the duvet it ts too warm for Tucson. Otherwise, it will be great for the winter months. It arrived quickly and it is very well made.

I got the king size comforter and it fit my duvet very nicely. It gives the bed a modern look, not the fluffy look like down. The silk batting is evenly stitched and does not shift around, which I find is a nice feature. The weight feels fine now, but is a little on the thin side, so it may not be warm enough for the winter.

I needed a silk comforter because I needed something lightweight and hypoallergenic, and this seemed to fit the bill. It isn't overly heavy, but I sleep with an open window in the northeast, and have been warm enough, even on nights with the temperature in the 20s. The only drawback is that the cover is white, which is neutral but requires a cover for it.

I am so very pleased with the silk comforter because it is light weight but still so very warm. It has a nice appearance when the bed is made because it lay so flat under the bedspread. I have always wanted the silk comforter but the price has always stopped me from buying until I saw it on Overstock. I couldn't believe the great price. It was less than one forth of what I have seen them for. Because they are silk filled they all range from $250.00 to $400.00. Thank you Overstock for the great price..

We really love the comfort and warmth of this, without the weight. Our son threw it into the wash (label says dry clean only), still inside the duvet. I was horrified, but when I dried it.. on low, it came out just fine. I would not recommend washing it, though as I don't know how long it would hold up. I think it looks like it got washed in a washing machine, but that's because it is slightly wrinkled. It's covered inside a duvet, anyway, and it still provides the same comfort.

This duvet is light-weight but because it is silk filled, it is breathable for summer use and provides needed warmth for the winter. It is ideal for those looking for a sleek coverlet look but wanting something that can be used year-round. I highly recommend.

I purchased this item because I have fibromyalgia and lightweight silk comforters seem to work best. This one is a bit more weighty because of the high thread count cotton exterior. It's a fine quality item that I will use as a summer comforter on another bed in the home. It is beautifully made and very nicely finished.

We recently traveled to China and visited a factory where these type comforters were made. My mother coveted them, but we didn't want to carry it throughout the trip with us. I bought this for her birthday when we returned and she has been thrilled. The cover is higher quality than we saw in the factory in China, the weight is great, the price was better. Couldn't be happier, especially since a duvet cover is NOT necessary.

I highly recommend this comforter. We needed to replace the comforter we had that was heavy to move around under and not very warm. This silk comforter is much lighter but very warm. We set our thermostat down at night and we stay very cozy. I did purchase a duvet cover for it (also from Overstock) since it is recommended that a silk comforter just be hung out in the sun a couple times a year and not put in the washer. I had planned to purchase a down comforter, but I am so very glad I made the decision to purchase the silk one instead.

Being too hot. Or too cold at night can totally bring on the night sweets or chills. This has been a great solution, actually combined with silk or rayon sheets. Pillow cases for me, to prevent sweats, must be a natural fiber. Polyester anything leaves me dripping wet but silk , being a non synthetic, has made all the difference! I like this product because, combined with other natural fibers, I do not sweat at night. Believe me, this has been an ongoing experiment for years, so this is a winner! Menopause be damned! This helps beat the monster!

Allergic to Down, but hate sleeping under polyester (call it what you will, dress it up however you want -- it simply doesn't breathe!). This is ideal -- as other have mntioned, it does not loft, which takes some mental adjustment -- but it is reallly lovely and yummy. It reminds me of the antique quilts my mpother used to tuck us in with at our summer home -- those were no doubt heavy cotton batting. This feels likea quilt with silk batting. The particular duvet cover I added makes it a little bit *too* heavy, but I'll solve that later. I really love this!

I absolutely love this comforter and am using it instead of down. I don't have to worry about allergies, loose feathers and dust mites. I ordered the king size comforter and am using a king duvet and its fits perfectly. As another reviewer pointed out, it is not puffy and drapes nicely on the bed. It is warm and cozy and not heavy. I used previous reviews as a guide before buying this comforter. I don't think you will be disappointed with this purchase.

Have no previous experience with silk. Was looking for an affordably priced silk filled comforter to see how family members with allergies liked them as an alternative to down. I got very favorable results: light weight, warm, adjusted well to body heat so they didn't sweat and get overheated yet were warm enought. Now we might be willing to invest in more expensive, higher quality ones.

For the price this silk comforter is o.k. . I think I would rather have had a higher end one though.

We passed on buying one in China… was very pleased with overstock's product… Generous size and love the lightness and warmth
A good comforter is an essential item for any comfortable bed. Down comforters are an especially popular type of comforter in many homes, though down alternatives offer many benefits for allergy sufferers. Although both offer durability and warmth, there may be some debate between down comforters versus alternative down comforters concerning which one is right for you. When choosing a comforter, consider factors such as cost, warmth and aesthetic appeal to help you make the right selection.
Throw pillows covered in delicate fabrics, such as wool or silk, will have to be dry-cleaned, as will throw pillows stuffed with down or feathers. Foam-filled throw pillows with cotton covers or other washable materials, however, can be washed -- some even by machine. Nevertheless, even if a pillow appears washable, always consult the washing instruction label before attempting to wash a throw pillow -- or you may be in for an unpleasant surprise when you remove the pillow from the washing machine.
It is a long-standing tradition to include a bridal bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets in a wedding. That being said, there are various reasons for seeking alternatives to a traditional wedding bouquet. Additionally, you may want to carry an item that has significant meaning down the aisle on the big day. Whatever your reasons, you can find the top 5 alternatives to a bridal bouquet here.
The bedroom is one of the most personal rooms in a home, and bed linens are often your best bet for creating a space that reflects your personality. It should be a relaxing retreat with a luxurious bed as the focal point of the room. Create that restful feeling by choosing high-quality bedding. While many people splurge on a down comforter or feather pillows, they sometimes skimp on bed linens. Don't make the mistake of settling for low-quality bedding. After all, bed linens are the part of the bed that touches your skin. Look below to learn how to choose quality bed linens.
Out of all the bedding made, quilts may be the most diverse. Quilts are produced in all kinds of colors, patterns, sizes, styles and types. If you're looking for a quilt but don't know where to start, take a look at the popular types of quilts below to learn more about this beautiful kind of bedding. Amish quilts: These beautiful quilts reflect the Amish way of living and feature solid colors, deep hues, geometric patterns and very little embellishment. Amish quilts contain the highest quality of construction and stitching, and, sometimes, the wonderful stitch patterns (scrolls, feathers) contrast with the simple backgrounds of their quilts. Applique quilts: These quilts use a French needlework technique where fabric pieces are sewn onto another piece of material to create a design. Applique is used extensively in the quilting process and is not to be confused with patchwork. Patchwork pieces are joined together; applique is sewn on top of the whole piece. Baltimore album quilts: Baltimore album quilts came from Maryland in the early 1800s. Each block in the design of these quilts is appliqued differently, often in ornate floral patterns. Bangladeshi quilts: These quilts are made with layers of Saree cloth. Saree cloth is silk cloth used by women of India to wrap and fold around the body as a garment. The cloth is usually 40 to 60 inches wide by 6 yards long. These quilts are used as bedding or as decorative pieces. Bargello quilts: Bargello quilts are created with offset squares in an up-and-down geometric "V" pattern. The small squares of different fabrics and the colorful designs make these quilts true works of art. Hawaiian quilts: Hawaiian quilts are not pieced, and they usually showcase a large, symmetrical applique in the center of the quilt. Most often the background is white or another solid color. Patchwork quilts: Patchwork quilts are constructed of many small pieces of fabric which are put together in an improvised or irregular pattern. This is a well-known quilt style, and examples of historical patchwork quilts are found in many museums. Ralli quilts: Ralli quilts, sometimes known as rilli quilts, are traditional quilts made in India or Pakistan. There is an abundance of embroidery as well as applique on the patchwork patterns. Star quilts: Star quilts are created with a large star shape, or several star shapes, dominating the pattern. Wedding ring quilts: Wedding ring quilts are crafted in a design of interlocking rings. This pattern goes far back in history: in the fourth century it was used to decorate drinking cups in Rome. Wedding ring quilts are highly popular and make wonderful wedding gifts. If you're looking for a gift to please an engaged couple, you can't go wrong with a wedding quilt. Bedding always makes a significant gift for the bride and groom, and a quilt with coordinating Egyptian cotton sheets can be even better. View All Quilts Back to Guides Directory View All Quilts
