My husband and I both have allergies therefore I prefer to have an alternative down comforter. The only complaint I have with this one is the "noise". It crunches whenever either one of us moves...sounds like we're sleeping under a blanket made of wax paper. I have bought sheets in the past that are "crispy" like this and eventually give them to my daughter and her family and she loves them. So if you don't mind the crunch, this is a great value and very comfortable....maybe I should invest in earplugs!

Mattress topper creates a nice cushion and seems to be holding its shape and loft after several weeks use. Not quite the same feel as down, but the trade-off is that it is cooler and isn't clumping up!

I read all the reviews before purchasing one and although a little bit noisy, it's very fluffy and warm. The price is unbeatable and shipping was fast. Thank you Overstock!

I would characterize this more as a white bed-in-a-bag quality poly-fill comforter. Not light, not fluffy like good down alternative.

This was exactly what I wanted, an attractive and warm comforter for Christmas gifts. It has nice white piping on the edge, is attractive and a bargain. I may order another one.

This is a very nice comforter. It is light but very warm. I bought white to use with a duvet cover. I'm very happy with my purchase. It's such a great value for a King size.

I gave this as a gift to my Mother for Christmas. She is very cold natured and needed more cover here in the mountains. She used it right away and was amazed at how light yet warm the comforter was. It was soft , not stiff like quilts are and she could snuggle it around her. The only thing that I would suggest is making it available in colors, not just white.

I have always used down quilts that eventually pack down & leak feathers leaving cold spots. This quilt is well made with a nice loft and weight. I now turn down the heat to 48 at night and the quilt keeps me quite cozy and warm. It is washable and that is a huge plus. I ordered black but white was shipped so I will put on a cover.

I purchased Deluxe 240 Thread Count Down Alternative Comforter (white) for me and I LOVE IT. I washed it on a weekly basic (cold gentle delicate cycle) and it's over a year since I bought it and it's still in GREAT condition. You can almost say it's still look brand new. No thread problem so far; no color fading (white O.o) so far; and it's still warm for winter and cool for summer. I definitely would recommend this product to my family and friends. One thing if I buy this again, I would buy a bigger size (king) to cover my bed better. My bed is a queen and I purchased a full/queen.

I read all the reviews before purchasing my down alternative comforter. I chose this one based on all the good comments I read. And now I too agree and can say I am very pleased with this comforter. It is extremely fluffy & lofty, large, and very soft as well. It feels great to the touch, just heavenly. I think it's going to be too warm for the summertime though. It does make some noise but I have noticed that it is quite less now after 4 weeks of use. Don't consider it a problem, really. I have it inside a 100% white cotton thin duvet. Anyways, I just absolutely love this comforter. Great steal of a price.

I've had it for a week and so far so good. I purchased the king size for our queen sized canopy bed that sits quiet high off the floor. Our previous down comforter was king size and fit just right, but I should have ordered the queen because this king size hangs just a bit longer down on the sides than I like. I guess when they said "oversized" they meant it. It's all a matter of preference. The comforter itself seems fine, it is for a guest room and we purchased a white duvet cover to make it easier to keep clean. The comforter doesn't have as much loft as I expected, but still looks good. We have had two sets of guests staying with us since purchasing it and everyone has been comfortable and had no complaints. We do have a lot of out of town guests that visit regularly so we wanted something that would make them feel cozy and warm when they slept.

I have a problem sleeping nights so I watch TV till I doze off. This means I lay on one side for a long time and fight with my pillows trying to plump them back up every 30 min or so. These pillows hold the plump. The only problem I have is when I first lie down the back of the pillow tends to come up around the back of my head. This is because I tend to lie on one end of my pillows. If I take care and lie in the middle of the [I sleep on two] pillows first to even the air out from my plumping I don't have this problem. I love the fabric they are covered with. It's so white and so soft. I am sensitive to odor of new items too. These aired out from the plastic quickly and there was no odor by the time I went to bed. All in all I am very happy with them. They are soft but not so soft thye don't give some neck support. They feel like down without the worry of feathers sneaking out to float and itch my nose. It's very nice~ I thought it was light weight, but it's very, very heavyweight. It must be for colder climates, since I'm in the south, I was thinking due to the price it would be very cheap, but it's not~ next time I'll know to get the VERY light weight comforter. But its beautiful, thick and plush. Very pretty on the bed. I love the fact that its stark white, not off white as most products are when you order white.

Purchased this for my daughter who felt her bed was too hard. She has been very happy with this addition. It is very comfortable and, ultimately, difficult to get her out of bed in the morning.

What a great comforter! It is warm, and looks great. I am glad we bought three; one for each of our beds.

This comforter is actually as beautiful as it looks in the photo, although it took a day or two to fluff up to normal after being unpacked from the shipping box. It goes through the washing machine beautifully with no issues of shifting, and no filling coming out at the seams. We use it for a guest bed inside of a heavier weight (velvet) duvet cover that masks any issues of so called "noise" when moved around. This is pretty enough to used without a duvet cover but I wouldn't recommend it as it would be a bit noisy and possibly slippery. The size is perfect for our duvet and the measurements listed are accurate. Our house guests have said it is plenty warm and no one has needed to use an the extra blanket along with this. A couple people wanted to know where they can get one of their own. I will most likely buy another one like this if the need arises for another room.

Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills. Out of all the bedding made, quilts may be the most diverse. Quilts are produced in all kinds of colors, patterns, sizes, styles and types. If you're looking for a quilt but don't know where to start, take a look at the popular types of quilts below to learn more about this beautiful kind of bedding. Amish quilts: These beautiful quilts reflect the Amish way of living and feature solid colors, deep hues, geometric patterns and very little embellishment. Amish quilts contain the highest quality of construction and stitching, and, sometimes, the wonderful stitch patterns (scrolls, feathers) contrast with the simple backgrounds of their quilts. Applique quilts: These quilts use a French needlework technique where fabric pieces are sewn onto another piece of material to create a design. Applique is used extensively in the quilting process and is not to be confused with patchwork. Patchwork pieces are joined together; applique is sewn on top of the whole piece. Baltimore album quilts: Baltimore album quilts came from Maryland in the early 1800s. Each block in the design of these quilts is appliqued differently, often in ornate floral patterns. Bangladeshi quilts: These quilts are made with layers of Saree cloth. Saree cloth is silk cloth used by women of India to wrap and fold around the body as a garment. The cloth is usually 40 to 60 inches wide by 6 yards long. These quilts are used as bedding or as decorative pieces. Bargello quilts: Bargello quilts are created with offset squares in an up-and-down geometric "V" pattern. The small squares of different fabrics and the colorful designs make these quilts true works of art. Hawaiian quilts: Hawaiian quilts are not pieced, and they usually showcase a large, symmetrical applique in the center of the quilt. Most often the background is white or another solid color. Patchwork quilts: Patchwork quilts are constructed of many small pieces of fabric which are put together in an improvised or irregular pattern. This is a well-known quilt style, and examples of historical patchwork quilts are found in many museums. Ralli quilts: Ralli quilts, sometimes known as rilli quilts, are traditional quilts made in India or Pakistan. There is an abundance of embroidery as well as applique on the patchwork patterns. Star quilts: Star quilts are created with a large star shape, or several star shapes, dominating the pattern. Wedding ring quilts: Wedding ring quilts are crafted in a design of interlocking rings. This pattern goes far back in history: in the fourth century it was used to decorate drinking cups in Rome. Wedding ring quilts are highly popular and make wonderful wedding gifts. If you're looking for a gift to please an engaged couple, you can't go wrong with a wedding quilt. Bedding always makes a significant gift for the bride and groom, and a quilt with coordinating Egyptian cotton sheets can be even better. View All Quilts Back to Guides Directory View All Quilts
