I was looking at feather duvets, however I am a bit allergic to down so also was looking for alternatives, saw this and felt good reading the reviews and I purchased. Very glad I did, I love this duvet, yes it is heavier than down, what wouldn't be? Not really heavy but feels very comforting. It just feels so good, I rarely get too hot as I do under synthetic. I recommend this highly.

I never leave reviews but feel compelled after one night of sleep under this comforter. What a great experience. No more down for me!! I decided to switch to wool on the recommendation from the place I bought my bed b/c I was complaining about getting overheated throughout the night. First question they had was, "are you sleeping w/a down comforter?" Me: "yes." I'll admit, I was skeptical since I've always loved down but this wool comforter is the best. The weight of the comforter is just perfect and the temperature regulation is excellent. I didn't have to throw covers off once. I'm so glad I made this purchase!

Had quite a bit of loose strings on it that I had to cut off when it arrived but other than that it's a good buy. It is sooooo soft and yes it's warm too.

It's not quite as lofty as it appears in the photo, and the queen-size just covers our queen bed. My husband opened this while I was away, otherwise I would have sent it back and got the king size as they are the same price. However, it is lightweight and keeps us sufficiently warm in our rather cold bedroom without getting too hot. Quality and functionality are great, but the aesthetics leave a little to be desired. Yes, it does make some rustling noise, but it is not bothersome to us.

Didn't know what to expect with this comforter since our last one was real down but we're pleasantly surprised with what arrived.. After a few years we grew tired of our down one shedding feathers every time we washed it. Yes, I know you're suppose to dry clean it but who has the time or $$ to do that?.. I like that this one can be cleaned in the wash on cold. We ordered the 'khaki' color but because of the sheen from the egyptian cotton I'd consider it more of a gold color.. We have some sheets that are gold and it matches nearly dead on.. There were many down-alternative comforters that I had considered before but they had the micro-fiber shell and since we have cats that like to jump on our bed the thing would've been covered in hair before too long.. No thanks!! I had never ordered anything from 'Overstock' before and I was shocked at how quickly it arrived on our doorstep. ;D

True to description. Very comfortable and warm. Highly recommend this as an alternative to down. Also, no feathers popping out. Delivered in speedy manner! Yes to this product!

This is a high quality comforter. I bought my daughter a king-sized comforter (alternative down as well) at ***** for $59 and it was nice, and this one was $20 more. This one is thicker and has a satiny finish to it. I know it is larger than my daughter's, because I could hardly stuff it in the dryer. (I always use the heat of the dryer for anything I buy now due to bedbug paranoia--and no, didn't see a trace of any insects.) My daughter has a queen-sized bed, and I have a full-sized, but I bought king comforters for both of our beds. It hangs down about 4 inches from the floor on both sides, but at the bottom of the bed, it is at floor level. Just like the picture, I have an extra 12 -15 inches on top to fold down. But, I would rather have a comforter be too big for the bed instead of too small. Yes, I would definitely recommend this comforter!

Finally, a comforter that doesn't skimp on measurements. I've had others before that covered little more than the top of the mattress. (Yes, they were bargain products, but come on!) This one drapes nicely and my son LOVES it! It keeps him warm in the winter but isn't too hot as the temperature rises. It also washes nicely too, a big plus.
With so many different brands and styles of duvets available, learning a little bit them will help you find one that is perfect for your bed. "Duvet" is simply another word for "down comforter." Here's what you need to know about down comforter fabrics, fill, and construction. The Outside of the Duvet: Shop Down Duvets ▸ Shell Materials The shell of most duvets is made from cotton fabric. While occasionally you will find a duvet made from silk or a cotton/silk blend, cotton is by far the most popular material because it is both comfortable and relatively low cost. Read More
