Down and feather-filled products are packaged tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove this item from its packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours for full loft recovery. In addition, products sealed in plastic packaging sometimes have a disagreeable scent because of concentrated natural fibers. A few hours of airing typically removes the odor.
We recommend that this item is fluffed at least once a week to maintain down distribution.

I always wait at least a year until I write the review to ensure the product holds up. Well, this one definately does! It is great, luxurious fabric, has alot of down fill, is warm, and has worn very well. It still looks brand new. Great value for the price.
At first I thought I got the lone sewer who knew nothing of down management when filling the baffling. The majority of the down was sewen into the baffling that hung over the bed (3+" fluff). There were five center forward panels with very little down, less than1"fluff. The unit was returned and a refund granted. I then tried again and returned that unit as well. Again the majority of the fluff/down was in the baffling hanging over the bed. One center panel, 2nd row from the top, only fluffed up to about 1/2". I need the fluff/down over me and not along side the bed. I will try again but with a different manufacture. Kind of makes me wonder about all those 5 star ratings. Sure not the same quality of what I slept under when stationed in Germany.
I've been using this comforter for 2 years. It's extremely warm and overall I've been happy with it. However, the box stitching is starting to come undone so now the goose down is bunching up at the end of my bed and on either side. Every week or so I have to shake the comforter out so the goose down gets evenly spread throughout. It has only been 2 years but I just thought the stitching would last longer - and I have only dry cleaned it once!
As some of the others have stated, this comforter generates a lot of heat, and you don't need any other blankets to keep warm. Take it from a person who wears socks to bed to keep warm plus two blankets. By the middle of the night I usually have to remove this comforter from getting too warm.
It looks nice and fluffy, I gave it a 3 because all squares do not have the same amount of fill, some are more full and others are flat. It is light and feels nice and soft.
Smell: Yes there is a smell that would not leave, even after airing it out for a week or more. It still has an odor to it. I deal with it because of the softness and it keeps me so warm.
Size: If you have a king size pillowtop bed like I do, do NOT expect this comforter to drape over the sides and ends like it does in the PHOTO, it will not. It barely goes over the edges.
Overall I love the warmth and feel of the comforter, hate the smell, size (too small), and uneveness of the fill in the squares. Because of this I do not use it to dress my bed during the day, only pull it out for warmth at night.
Hope this helps.
This comforter was everything that I had hoped it would be.My Mom is 89 y.o. and constantly complains about being cold in bed. She typically has three or four heavy blankets under a heavy bedspread - and still gets cold. This comforter has eliminated her old bedspread and allowed her to sleep with just one additional light blanket underneath. It is extremely light in weight and extremely warm as well. No complaints!
This comforter is so thin, hardly 650 fill power as it is described. Don't waste your money! I seriously doubt it is even white down.
I purchased one from O along time ago and it was great, this is an inferior product.
I read about this soooo may times that I felt I needed to make a comment:
True baffle boxes HAVE OPENINGS in them for the down to shift and it is customary to refluff your comforter regularly to fluff and redistribute the down the way you like it.
So if your comforter is empty in the middle, CHECK OUT THE DIRECTION THAT THE OPENINGS IN THE BAFFLES RUN. . . they are directional and lined-up inside. IF YOU SHAKE THE COMFORTER IN THE WRONG DIRECTION IT WILL NOT REFILL.When you are sure what direction the openings in the baffles run, reshake your comforter FROM THE EDGES and going the RIGHT DIRECTION to refill/redistribute the down.
I hope this helps some folks. . . .
I live in the NE where temps are very cold. This comforter is all you need! I took mine out of the bag, there was no strong off smell that others have suggested and the comforter fluffed up with in a couple of hours. I put mine in a duvet to keep fresh and clean. The comforter so nice it's like sleeping with a teddy bear that is not there. I love it.
