Excellent Lasting Quality
 from MN,  Oct 26, 2006

I always wait at least a year until I write the review to ensure the product holds up. Well, this one definately does! It is great, luxurious fabric, has alot of down fill, is warm, and has worn very well. It still looks brand new. Great value for the price.

I always get the bad one
 from Tennessee,  Apr 6, 2009

At first I thought I got the lone sewer who knew nothing of down management when filling the baffling. The majority of the down was sewen into the baffling that hung over the bed (3+" fluff). There were five center forward panels with very little down, less than1"fluff. The unit was returned and a refund granted. I then tried again and returned that unit as well. Again the majority of the fluff/down was in the baffling hanging over the bed. One center panel, 2nd row from the top, only fluffed up to about 1/2". I need the fluff/down over me and not along side the bed. I will try again but with a different manufacture. Kind of makes me wonder about all those 5 star ratings. Sure not the same quality of what I slept under when stationed in Germany.

Nice but Doesn't Last
from Alexandria, VA,  Jan 30, 2007

I've been using this comforter for 2 years. It's extremely warm and overall I've been happy with it. However, the box stitching is starting to come undone so now the goose down is bunching up at the end of my bed and on either side. Every week or so I have to shake the comforter out so the goose down gets evenly spread throughout. It has only been 2 years but I just thought the stitching would last longer - and I have only dry cleaned it once!

the fabric is very high quality, but it is misleading to label this comforter as 650 fill. i would gadge it more aroudn 300, if a lighter weight comforter is what you are looking for, the quality is high. the dimensions of this comforter are also narrower than others, so if you have a higher mattress, then expect that it will not be wide enough to drape, at all, over the sides of a queen bed. better to consider this a twin size.

I bought this comforter and was disappointed to find that the box baffles allowed shifting of the down to the outer edges. It takes a lot of effort move the down back in place. I would not recommend this product.

Great warmth and softness
from Bedminster, NJ,  Oct 6, 2006

As some of the others have stated, this comforter generates a lot of heat, and you don't need any other blankets to keep warm. Take it from a person who wears socks to bed to keep warm plus two blankets. By the middle of the night I usually have to remove this comforter from getting too warm. It looks nice and fluffy, I gave it a 3 because all squares do not have the same amount of fill, some are more full and others are flat. It is light and feels nice and soft. Smell: Yes there is a smell that would not leave, even after airing it out for a week or more. It still has an odor to it. I deal with it because of the softness and it keeps me so warm. Size: If you have a king size pillowtop bed like I do, do NOT expect this comforter to drape over the sides and ends like it does in the PHOTO, it will not. It barely goes over the edges. Overall I love the warmth and feel of the comforter, hate the smell, size (too small), and uneveness of the fill in the squares. Because of this I do not use it to dress my bed during the day, only pull it out for warmth at night. Hope this helps.

Nice comforter
from Chicago, IL,  Dec 9, 2010

I'm glad I bought this comforter, it is warm and light. However, I am a bit disappointed in one thing. I bought this particular comforter because the Overstock product information states that it is Made in USA. Actually, it is assembled in USA of imported materials. I don't know if that would have affected my decision to buy, but I want to let others know.

Comforter not a good quality item
from Hudson Valley, NY,  Dec 2, 2007

The comforter looks and feels great - UNITL you use it a few times. The down has already settled in different parts of the comforter and that leaves spots where there is little to no down. The last comforter we had took more than a year to begin to separate like this, and this one has done it in less than three weeks! Very disappointed with the quality. The fabric cover is 600 thread count, and has a nice feel to it, but that's the best thing I can say about this one. I am VERY disappointed, especially after having spent so much money on this gift to my husband!

Down Comforter
from New Jersey,  Dec 31, 2006

After a few days of use: Pros - Material/fabric quality is excellent. Stiching appears good and is holding up. Down has great fluff and warmth. Quite a bit of down inserted. Good to very good price. Cons - Most down is located in the outer baffles of mine. A handful of baffles in the sleeping zone are lightly packed. So one person has less down than the other. This is a waste of good down. I probably just got unlucky with the lot pick. If it wasn't for this deficiency I would have given this review all 5's. Even so, this purchase was still a very good value. The current price is even lower now than when I purchased it (by $30). It appears to be about $25 to $150 cheaper than comparable down comforters I've seen in stores (from my purchase price). I'm a thorough shopper and I would purchase it again for the this price.

very good product
 Nov 13, 2006

Overall, I'm satisfied. I think it is worth the sale price, but don't be misled by the listed price. That simply can't be for real. The quality of the fabric seems to be good, but isn't the soft type. It almost feels "plasticky" compared to our 400 threads bedsheet which is truly soft. Also, not to complain but just for information, this is a pretty thick and warm comforter, which can either be a good thing or bad thing depending on your personal preferences. I wish it were about 10 to 20% thinner. Our bedroom temperature is maintained at a relatively cool 62° (Fahrenheit of course), and it feels a little bit too warm sleeping in this comforter.

The scientific method of comforter selection
from Washington, DC,  Oct 10, 2009

For various reasons, namely entirely too much time spent in academia, I've started making comparison spreadsheets for most bigger purchases. (I know, my husband rightly makes fun of me for it too:-) Point being, after accounting for price, average customer review rating, thread count, and fill power, this comforter is the best that Overstock offers in the $60 to $150 range. It arrived quickly and after one day of airing out, fluffed nicely and all residual smells disappeared. The fabric shell is a high thread count, soft, with a nice stripe design. So far, we've had no problems with feathers poking out. Nevertheless, get a good quality duvet cover -- it will save you money on dry cleaning. The down is evenly distributed and we haven't had any problems with shifting/cold spots yet. It's seems to be very warm, but the temperature here hasn't dropped enough, so I'll update the review again in January. My husband's one complaint is that the comforter's too comfy, making it really tough to get out of bed in the morning (we also have a feather bed -- a previous great Overstock purchase.) Overall -- a recommended buy.

Comforter
from Chicago, IL,  Oct 30, 2008

This comforter is so warm! Shipping was fairly quick. There was no smell at all, which I was very pleased with. It took about 1 day to really fluff up, but all the down has mainly spread out, does not seem to be lumping in one place. It is starting to get colder here in Chicago, and I am sleeping at night in shorts and a tank top, very cozy and warm. Good quality and a great price. I would not hesitate to purchase this again or recommend to anyone.

Perfect comforter, great price.
from Santa Fe, New Mexico,  Aug 21, 2007

This is a lovely state of the art goose down comforter. It arrived 4 days after I purchased it! I will place it inside a duvet cover but it doesn't really need one because the fabric is very nice and does not leak dust or down. I have been using down comforters for 25 years and this is really the nicest one I have owned. The size is Full/Queen and it is more than adequate for my queen size bed. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Overstock provides excellent service.

warm & cozy
from Boston, MA,  May 3, 2007

I bought this for my roommate who needed something to keep him warm. He was going to go to the dept. store. But I said no way, I have bought many items at Overstock and I am pleased w//them. I bought him the king size as he is quite a big guy. Also I made certain to buy a high thread count as Suzie homemaker he is not. This will last a good long time. He loves it, said it wraps around him nicely, is quite soft and as he put it " warm & Cozy. This from a guy. I do recommend this item, I myslf have one I purchased several years ago. This comforter can be used 3 seasons if you want / need it to.

Incredible comforter! High quality, great price!
from St. Louis, MO,  Feb 13, 2007

I researched a LOT of down comforters, and finally choose this one based on price, fill power, construction, stitching, thread count, and other people's reviews. I'm sooo glad I did! This one is incredible...heavenly fluffy, not too heavy, and not too warm...even when sleeping next to someone else. It's perfect. It is also so pretty that I don't want to put a duvet cover on it, but I don't want it to get dirty. When I took it out of the box I simply draped it over the bed for a few hours, and it puffed up beautifully. It had a bit of a smell to it at first, but that quickly went away by the next day. Truly a high quality product, and for such a great price!! I've had mine for about 2 months now, and I'm recommending this one to everyone I know!

Great Value
from Marlborough, MA,  Oct 26, 2006

I read all the reviews. There are a lot of them. I ordered a Down comforter last year from overstock and I was very pleased. I have to say that I am very happy again. The comforter fluffed up within a day and there was no smell. I was concerned with a comment someone made about the size. I have a king size bed and he mentioned it was a smaller comforter. Not true. It isn't the biggest I'm sure but it drapes over the bed just fine. All boxes were filled nicely. My wife is from Europe and they obviously make better comforters there but she is pleased with this one. Over-all: Great price for a good comforter. Thanks overstock!

This product is incredible. What a great deal a comforter of this quality will cost you 3x as much at stores like BedBathBeyond and Linens n' things. Why buy from them when you can save a couple hundred dollars buying it from Overstock. Product was received as described except for the added bonus. It was suppose to be 450z. of down and I got 50oz. so that was only for the better. I have slept with this comforter for two nights now and I already notice a huge difference in the comfort. This is a must if you are looking for quality, comfort and warmth. So, don't hesitate to buy this product.

Unfinished seam!
from San Francisco, CA,  Dec 13, 2011

Bit wary after reading the breadth of reviews. Seemed like it was hit or miss, with some down on sides only, etc. Well, mine came with one seam edge unfinished, so down feathers were falling out. Not willing to risk something else poorly made with a replacement duvet, even if the seam edge was complete. Would rather pay more for good product, for it is something I plan on keeping for long while.
