The color is true to the picture. The fabric is really thing and becomes a ball of wrinkles after washing. The thing I could not understand was a weird seam that runs along the side if the cover. It makes me think the cover is a second made of remnant fabric. It's too strange and the location too random to be a design feature.
I bought this duvet cover in 2009 and it still looks and feels exactly the same after years of use. It's easy to care for and wash. I bought it in french vanilla and still feel like the style is simple and elegant four years later. I added throw pillows and sheets that have color and pattern and can always update those if I want a change in decor over the next few years.
I bought this in white. The duvet cover is a heavy enough fabric, and the stripe pattern is subtle and pretty. However, there is a large stitched seam running down the duvet cover. The seam spans about an inch and it isn't centered...it's about 2/3rds the way across the cover. It's an unsightly seam that really detracts from the cover. I needed the cover for a spare bed, so I kept the duvet rather than go through the hassle of returning the item, but I would not purchase this again because of the seam problem.
Cover is a nice color, picture is accurate, perhaps a littler darker than the posting. And yes there is a seam but I dont find it to be nearly as "awful" as others have. Aesthetically it's a nice cover. However, my biggest complaint is that the cover doesnt breathe well at all...it's very hot and not the most comfortable of material given its supposed to be 500 thread count (all cotton). Perhaps that will get better with wear/washes but in its current state, it's just an average duvet cover for me.
I was horrified when I washed the cover only to find there is a very visible seam on either side of the cover about 2/3 of the way across. The material used was not wide enough for a Queen cover, so two pieces of material were stitched together to make up the width. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Given the price charged for the cover, it is downright disgusting that customers should get such an inferior quality product. DO NOT BUY THIS COVER. I am so mad about this product and want to save you from making the same mistake I did.
After years of crappy sheets and rough covers, I decided enough was enough. I figured I was in my bed for at least 6-8 hours a day, spend the extra dollars and be comfortable. This duvet cover is perfect, a bit rough before washing, but every wash after the first one, gets softer and softer.
great duvet cover and shams. sewn very strait and neat, wonderful cotten material, very soft, easy to iron, perfect fit. if asked, i would buy two more sets and the matching sheets this time. i would recommend this duvet set to anyone who likes high quality and craftsman ship. enjoy.
Bought this in blue - just couldn't pass up the price. Quality turned out to be great and we have enjoyed this set for over 2 years. This has held up through an infant and small dog and has held the color and has no tears, etc. No need to iron after washing, which is great!
