Nice rod but.....
from Madison WI,  Nov 11, 2009

This is the second time I have ordered a curved shower curtain rod from Overstock.com. This is NOT the same rod I got the first time. The picture on the website looked the same but when the rod set came it was not the same one. What I don't like about this set is that the rod telescopes which means it has a seam. The first rod I got did not have a seam and the shower curtain opens and closes easily. When you have a seam in your rod it's hard to get past the "bump" the seam creates. Over time you end up tearing your liner.I do like the roller balls they send in place of the traditional shower curtain rings. The liner is fabric and is very high quality which is why I rated this a "4" overall. Good price too on the set, if you go to your local bath store it will cost you more.

Good Product
 from NJ,  Aug 4, 2009

The product is a great value for the money. Color is spot on. It is a little flimsy but as long as you don;t hang anything too heavy on it it should be fine.

Droops and end caps don't fit
from Northern Nevada,  Jul 13, 2009

While looking very nice in the package, it has its detriments. The end caps will not fit on the ends with the supplied rod connecters. We had to buy different nuts and bolts and they still really don't fit properly. No matter how much we tighten it, as soon as we placed a shower curtain on it, the curve droops about an inch. Yes, I measured it from level. If you are planning on using this in a bathroom that's not really visible, then it's a great deal, otherwise go a bit higher on the price and hope that ones bolts fit properly.

More space
from Tucson AZ,  Nov 30, 2008

The curved shower rod provides much more elbow room than that of a standard shower rod . I do not bump into the shower curtain anymore and allows more room for two persons if you know what i mean. One caution though, when installing on tiled shower stalls, use a drill bit suitable for the task and be aware of the door way clearance. If your toilet is next to the shower, the curtain will occupy standing space. The iinstallation instructions are for bathtub and shower setups, for shower only systems you need to modify and plan. Result is worth the extra effort.

We ordered this rod for our shower when we painted our bathroom. I have been in hotel rooms with these type of shower rods and they really make more room for you as you shower. Can move freely without touching the wall or curtain and makes the shower feel so much bigger. Easy to install and the copper color was a great match to our faucet and curtain rod.

Happy
 from Kentucky,  Dec 25, 2011

Initially put in two bathrooms but had to take one down...they look great and give you more room inside the shower...they do everything promised. However, I do recommend putting them into studs! One of ours didn't line up properly and the hold wasn't great so it sagged. We took it down and put up the old standard tension rod. But i do recommend this product!

More space in the shower
from Harrisburg, PA,  Jul 9, 2011

Easy to install, (hubby helped), just took a few minutes. And the result was night and day. I wonder why we waited so long to get these in our showers (installed one in each bathroom). WOW. This gives you a larger shower right away. Our doors swing open towards the shower stalls, so the extra width at the top of the shower stall changes that a little bit (of course) but nothing too drastic. HIGHLY recommend this!

great addition for shower

Great addition to our tub/shower. It really does open up the space and prevent the shower curtain from hanging too closely to the person using the shower. Provides extra elbow room.

  • Did the color match the color displayed onsite? yes
  • How is the quality of the product? great
  • Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? yes

Good quality but gravity is getting the best of me
from Chicago, IL,  May 24, 2011

I love this shower rod, really makes the most of my wide bathtub. Only problem is that the mounting brackets are having trouble keeping the rod from sagging. Will probably have to remount.

THESE RODS ARE GREAT! O.COM HAD THE BEST QUALITY AND PRICE! MY HUSBAND HUNG THEM FOR ME AND DIDN'T CARE FOR THE INCLUDED HARDWARE SINCE I HANG HEAVIER SHOWER LINENS THAN MOST PEOPLE. I'VE USED THEM OVER A YEAR NOW, COLOR IS STILL THE "RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX NEW!" I PURCHASED BRONZE, WHAT A GREAT COLOR! OTHER THAN THAT, I CONTINUE TO CHECK OUT THE QUALITY AND PRICES IN STORES EVERYWHERE, NO ONE BEATS THE O! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Couldn't Use
from Reno, NV,  Jan 31, 2011

Wanted for small shower in my rental used by tall/wide teen boys. Discovered it would require drilling through tile to install, not an option for us. Had to use standard tension rod instead. Sold at 3rd garage sale, no one wanted it, new in package.

Attractive & Easy
from Santa Cruz, CA,  Aug 31, 2010

This shower curtain rod is not only attractive, but was very easy to install. The curved design allows the shower curtain to be away from your body, and makes the tub/shower feel larger. I highly recommend it!

An Attractive and Easy Upgrade
from Arlington, VA,  Aug 15, 2010

We wanted a curved shower rod to make our standard 5ft tub/shower (in a small bathroom with a low ceiling) feel like a larger space. It does the job perfectly! The curved bar adds 8 inches for upper body movement in the shower. Standing on the other side of the curtain, the curved bar gives the straight-lined room a new visual dimension and doesn't impose on moveable space outside the shower. The instructions for assembly were straightforward; a power drill is a must. The directions assume drilling and mounting into drywall. Our bath walls are different: 1/4in thin-board backed by studs. So I had to buy appropriate screws at Home Depot. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what screws/hardware you use for wall mounting because the attractive cover included will hide it. My one complaint would be that the two bolts included to hold the rod on the mounts are not properly sized. The final, assembled curtain rod IS sturdy and safe, but loose bolts allow it to move an inch or so vertically if you intentionally push it upwards. In everyday use however, the flaw is not evident and it works just fine.

Love these
 from NYS,  Aug 4, 2010

The curved shower curtain rods make such a difference in the shower. We purchased one for our bathroom and loved the extra space it gave us. An added bonus is the look of the shower curtain when it is hung, it makes the whole bathroom look nicer. We decided to get another one for our guest/kids bathroom. We have standard tubs for our showers in this house, but it makes it feel and look as though we have soaker tubs. Would recommend for sure.
