We stayed at a Hotel in Florida that had a bowed shower curtain and fell in love with it. You could take a shower without the curtain touching you. My husband said that he wanted me to get one for our home. I knew that they were expensive, so I looked at Overstock first. When I saw the price, I got it. It's easy to install but you do need two people. The only thing I would have done different, is moved it out toward the front of the tub 1" more than they instruct. Instead of 5" back I would just put it 4" back. We can now take a bath without the curtain touching us and we have a lot more "elbow room".
Most newer hotels have this shower curtain rod installed and it makes showers so much better not to have to fight off a shower curtain sticking to you. The instructions need to be studied some before installing. To get the proper position, had to drill into the tile with a ceramic drill bit and hope the tile would not crack. It is worth the bother though if you are willing to gamble with the drilling. The liner was okay but had a better one with magnets and suction cups. A home improvement center carries the curtains with the netting top view like hotels use. TIP: The package come with ball bearing shower curtain clips for smooth curtain operation too--but install these before you place the rod into the holder to make it easier.
The curtain rod looks great and was easy to install. I did have a slight problem with one if the wall brackets not fitting into the rod, but simply flaring out the hole in the bracket fixed this problem. The liner is pretty thin plastic, but that's easy to replace when it wears out. What I am most impressed with was the service from Overstock. I had a question as to whether the rod would fit into my bath space. The customer service department was courteous, and I had an answer within 3 hours.
I love the curved curtain rod and the extra space it creates in the shower, but the instructions were inacurate for installing, therefore leaving the liner useless. I ended up having to purchase an extra long liner as a result. I'd recommend the product, but only if you purchase the rod only. Purchase a shower curtain liner separately.
My husband and I had recently vacationed in an upscale hotel in Virginia, where they had this type (perhaps the exact same) curved shower curtain rod in the bathroom of the suite. It was an "eye-opening" experience as we both were impressed and even fascinated with the curved appearance and how much extra room was in the shower there. We made a note to research it when we returned home. (Naturally, we couldn't wait to get one of these for ourselves!)When I discovered it on Overstock, I instantly knew it was what I was searching for, and couldn't wait to purchase it, and try it out! I was NOT disappointed! My husband and I live in a smallish apartment, and we had our handyman install the rod as we didn't want to damage any tilework or anything. We ordered the chrome as that's what our other fixtures (i.e. towel rack) in the bathroom are.We were both truly amazed and astounded with all the extra room in the shower this new curved rod allows now.As someone else mentioned, it may be some kind of optical illusion, but it feels almost cavernous in there now. I can almost hear an echo if I yell! ;) It's a wonderful product at a wonderful price and I wholeheartedly recommend it!One precautionary note: Please make sure this rod will fit into your bathroom architecture. We were slightly worried it would not fit, but as it turns out, it worked out fine. The curtain does protrude a tiny bit into the bathroom a bit, but not enough to be annoying or intrusive. It's just "different" now, but we will get used to it, and the trade-off is well worth it!Overstock, you've outdone yourself again!Another Happy Customer!
My husband and I are so pleased with this product. The installation was easy and the instructions were clear on how to install. It is of great quality . . . and I have recommended it to my daughter and son-in-law. I would like to also say that we received it in a timely manner. Thank you for being so customer oriented.
This is a nice product. I would add these details: the rod is supposed to be installed 65" above your tub and 5" to 8" back from the edge of the tub (toward the wall of the tub). My tub enclosure did not allow this but it worked out okay. The brackets that the rod attach to are 3 1/2" high, again my wall above the tub area did not have enough room. Over all mine installed about 6 inches lower and 2 inches out from where it should be. Like I say, it is okay but it would be better if I could have installed it where they called for. If your shower enclosure area has any restrictions consider this. Also, it really sticks out into the room quite a bit. If you have a narrow bathroom I think this would be a problem. My room is 8' by 8' and it is fine, and again mine is sticking out about 2" father than is called for, but in my old house I had a 50's style ranch with a narrow gally style bathroom and this would not have worked in there. It's not the fault of this particular rod, just any curved rod. I do like the room it gives you in the shower. The inside plastic curtain still hangs down with plenty of coverage to keep water in and it lets in a lot more light.
Give you a lot of room in the shower. Great price, apperance, quality. Very good purchase. I am very happy .
I was pleased with the substantial feel and appearance of the curved rod. I especially liked the clip rings as they do not pop off the rod as the hook type. The plastic shower curtain also is a good weight. The shipment arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Unfortunately, the rod did not work for a handicap/walkin shower enclosure being added in my home. However, my contractor was so impressed with the quality that he purchased it on the spot and installed it in his home that very evening. All's well that ends well.
The curved shower rod is exactly what I needed and the description was perfect.
This is a nice product. Appreciated receiving the liner and curtain rings with the rod. It definitely makes the shower feel roomier. It took a couple of tries to get the rod securely in place.
The great advantage I see with this shower rod is that after a shower, the curtain can be hung outside of the tub so that air circulates around curtain from both ends.
I liked the styling but gave it to my mom. The bar stuck out too far so the shower curtain touches you when sitting on the toilet. My moms bathroom has the tub opposite the toilet so it wasn't an issue.
Love this rod, liner and hook set. Very easy to install (2 people) and makes a world of difference in a relatively small bathroom.
The shower curtain i s great looking and gives you a little added room in the shower. a great buy a lot less expensive here than the stores.
I thought that for the price this turned out to be a good product. The quality is nice.
My family stayed at a resort and loved their curved shower curtain. Went home and searched internet and found them here on O. High quality product.
Just what I wanted/needed, at a much better price than I could find in a store. This gives a feeling of SOOOOOO much more room in the shower. IWe had the "doors", and I made my husband remove them, because they made me feel clostophopic. This is the perfect answer!
Looks good in the bathroom, was a little tricky to hang though.
A normal shower feels 50% bigger, and was not hard to put up!
