not what I expected
I was expecting this pillow to be as soft and responsive as my memory foam mattress topper. I wanted the shredded foam because I like to sleep with my arm under the pillow and that doesn't work with a solid memory foam pillow. The pillow was stuffed extremely full with no room for the foam to move, making it way too firm. The memory foam didn't sink in but felt more like foam rubber. Luckily, the pillow cover inside the external cover was only closed with a zipper. I was able to remove half the shredded foam, which I used to stuff a worn-out couch cushion. The pillow was much more comfortable with less filling, but still not as soft as I would like. My son likes it though, and he is using it.

Shredded Foam Pillow
I bought three of these pillows for me and my husband; unfortunately, mine did not meet the level of comfort I was expecting, plus the pillow flattens too much when I lay on it, thus it does not conform to the shape of my neck and head. I previously had the memory foam pillow that was solid, but the neck part didn't fit well with my anatomy, that's why I decided to buy this "shredded" memory foam. It does spring back up on its original shape, but it doesn't help me when I am on it. My husband, on the other hand, is pretty happy with the pillow. I think pillows are really a matter of personal preference for comfort. So, I must say, I am disappointed in this product.
