As Some of you may know; I am the 1000 thread count man. And I must say, That I was very disappointed in theese sheets. They just could not hold up after the first wash. They began to come apart At the seams. However, they do feel amazing; But they are not Egyptian cotton. Food for thought; If you want to feel the true quality in your sheets; stick with Egyptian cotton. for a few pennies more you'll get quality and style with out the disappointment and the headaches.
I ordered two pairs of sheets, one pair (Hotel Grand Solid 1000 Thread Count Cotton Sateen Sheet Set) was great, but THIS pair is the worst sheet set I have ever owned. There is no way its 1000 thread count. The are horribly rough - HARD sheets. They say its too late to return them, I thought I was being a good customer by washing them a few times to make sure they wouldnt soften up. I am pissed that I can't return them and will be purchasing another set of sheets on another website and nothing from OVerstock.com ever again.
I always felt that buying a higher thread count in sheets ensured they were luxuriously soft but not in this case. They are stiff and very heavy. I washed them thinking they would soften but it didn't help. I would not buy these particular sheets again.
The sheets are nice and oversized, which is great since my last sheets were too small for the bed. However, I have washed the sheets and they feel rough for 1000 thread count. Maybe they will get softer with each wash. I hope so. I've only washed these sheets once since I just bought them. The color is great though.
These are nice sheets, not awesome. -and don't we all want to slip into a bed made with awesome sheets? One thing I love about these sheets is, the density. The 1000 thread count makes them as heavy as a light weight canvas. Of course, they're acceptably softer than canvas. Size is OK. Also, they come out of the dryer fairly wrinkle-free as well. Just a little more smoothness would have gotten them a fifth star.
I decided to treat myself to what I thought would be luxurious, wrinkle resistant sheets. After washing three times, what I am stuck with are stiff, wrinkly sheets. I have never seen sheets wrinkle so badly! They are so thick, it feels like you have a blanket on. I wish I could get a refund, but they have already been washed.
We thought thread count usually meant soft. However, these sheets are not real soft. They are nice and thick, but feel like you are sleeping under a piece of canvas. Apparently wrinkle-resistant means fold resistant. My wife washed these sheets at least 4 times the first week and a couple times a week after that. After nearly a month of sleeping on them and about 8 washes, they are still stiff and rough. When I say rough, it isn't $*** ******* sheet rough, but not as soft as our 600 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton sheets. I'll be looking for Egyptian Cotton from now on instead of this blended material.
