I have a firm posturepedic mattress so I got the 1 inch sensus mattress topper to make it more plush. The one inch is PERFECT if not a bit of an overkill. I wish it were a little denser or thinner so my mattress can retain its firmness. The one inch sinks in a little, but it's not too noticeable. It makes my firm mattress feel like a pillow top. Definitely recommend if you like a medium firm to medium bed. But if you're like me and prefer a firm bed, I'd probably go with something denser like the venus 1 inch.
I was very pleased to open this package and get exactly what I was looking for. I was already familiar with Sensus foam and was happy to find out that the product on the website was accurately portrayed and not a "cheap knock off" of the expensive foam. I was happy with the purchace.
I've had this topper on and off our bed for nearly nine months and it still stinks of chemicals. It's so bad our bedclothes smell of it in the mornings. Right now it is off the bed airing out (again). I'm planning to try and launder it by hand in the bathtub as a last resort. As none of the other reviewers seemed to have a problem with the odor, I'm wondering if I received the real deal. It was not pink in color as other reviewers said. Rather it was beige. However, the density seemed about right.
Fast delivery and the product was exactly as it had been described.
We were looking for an improvement in comfort without losing the basic feel of our mattress. We did not want a thick pad because they tend to be too soft and too hot. If a pad is too soft, it hurts my back. So this 1-inch topper was the perfect solution. It provides more "give" for our pressure points without drastically changing the character of our mattress. We've used it for two weeks now and we're very happy. The foam quality seems to be high, definitely higher than many other pads I've seen over the years. There was little or no smell, in our opinion.
- How is the quality of the product? Very good
- Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? Yes
I love these - I've saved tons of money - instead of replacing my mattress, I've added these toppers and they are so comfortable, I sleep like a baby!
I've been a big fan of memory foam for years, but haven't found a topper that's been exactly right... until now. The Sensus 1-inch topper is perfect for us. My husband prefers a firmer bed, and didn't like the feeling of sinking into a thicker topper. Even 2 inches was too much. This topper is very supportive, yet gives just enough "cush" to relieve pressure points. As other reviewers have said, it's difficult to believe that just one inch of foam can make that much of a difference. Another plus: I was surprised (and pleased) that it fully covered our king-sized bed; it's actually just a tad over the dimensions of a king. I only have one slightly negative comment. We received it the day before we left on a 6-day vacation. We unrolled and set it on top of the bed the day we left, but there was still a bit of an odor after we got back. It took about a week and a half to fully air out. However, having said that, it still fully deserves 5 stars. We've been sleeping great, and muscle and joint pain has been greatly relieved. I love this topper, and would highly recommend it!
From other reviews of memory foam toppers I learned that they usually are 1 to 2 inches smaller than advertised. So, I ordered the longest one I could find in the listings from several companies - the Cal King. It was listed as 70X80 inches. It expanded to 72X79 after a few days of stretching. The 72 surprisingly was two inches longer than advertised while the 79 was only one inch below the advertised. I cut the 72 down to 38 for my long twin and accept the 79. Other shoppers should take care to check the negative reviews to catch these quirks. It is not clear why the toppers are consistently cut smaller than advertised or why the sizes of all are smaller than their respective mattress sizes.
We have a fairly new bed that is an air bed (similar to a Select Comfort). We were just looking for that extra bit of comfort as we have the mattress set fairly firm. This did it! It was the perfect addition to our bed. The "feel" is just right and it does not get hot like some memory foam. We have been sleeping very well and are extremely pleased with this topper.
I read other reviews of this 1 inch topper and it IS firmer. My mattress is already soft, so this pad works perfectly. Best of all I am sleeping 7-8 hours each night.
I bought a 2.5" topper earlier this year without doing any research. I think it was about a 2lb density. It was way too springy... My husband is heavier than I am, and his weight would create a black hole that would suck me in, so I would have to pull myself out in the morning. I was miserable, but he slept great. Even my dog had trouble moving around on the bed. After some research, I decided that it wasn't the thickness of the topper that was important, it was the density. This particular topper is great for us. It gives us the padding we need, while still being thin enough that it feels like we're on a regular mattress.
After my King Koil pillow top mattress became truly uncomfortable at the 5 year mark, I cut off the pillow top layers and replaced them with 2 layers of foam and one layer of latex - all purchased from Overstock. Both of the foam layers came direct from Anatomic Global in Corona, CA and arrived in excellent condition. They fit the queen bed perfectly and had no ill odor. Anatomic Global supplies Relax the Back and is well respected. I was happy when the topper arrived since I didn't know they were the supplier. My bed is rejuvenated and for much cheaper than replacing a $1,500 mattress at the 5 year mark. A major disadvantage of a one-sided mattress (pillow top style) is that you cannot flip it for even wear. I like that I can rotate AND flip the foam topper(s). I can also change the order of the 3 layers as I wish. For a low risk cost, I am happy so far with my mattress topper(s)
If you are looking for a minor adjustment in the softness of your bed, it does the job; however if you want something that your body can sink into , get something much thicker. Quality is good-Does off gas for about a week or two.
The Sensus memory foam is high quality. It weighs out at 5lbs cu ft as it should. The 1" is enough if you bed is already medium firmness or softer. If your bed is firm or very firm, you will probably want to add something medium maybe 20-30 ILD latex under this layer. A good deal on great foam.
This topper is much better than my previous topper with 2" of 4lb foam. We have a firm mattress and I was worried that 1" of foam wouldn't be enough, but it really makes a difference. I sleep on my side and my hipbone no longer gets sore. I used to switch sides many times per night, now I rarely need to turn over. It did have some initial oder, but I laid it out on the basement floor for two nights and it was hardly noticeable after that. Overall, the Sensus foam topper is a great product.
I have chronic back pain due to a bulging disc in my lower back and thought this would provide the right balance of comfort and firmness as I'm a side sleeper. I found the pad was not supportive enough.
Will save your old mattress... very comfortable. Looks and feels weird out of the package but its really good. Lay it on and top it with a thin mattress pad. You'll be in heaven, trust me.
I love this product . It stays put on top of the mattress . It provides a firm sleeping surface . Ever since I began using it , about 2 weeks ago, I have been getting a great nights sleep . This is one fine product .
This product is flimsy and does not have the foam density it boasted. I bought it because it was listed as a savings of the day. It actually turned out to be too expensive in relationship to its poor quality.
This is my first memory foam mattress topper and i am very pleased with it. It is soft but not too much.I sleep better and wake up feeling refreshed.
