Almost too comfortable
from New York, NY,  Apr 17, 2008

My mattress, which is about 10 years old, was beginning to show some small signs of its age. It was still relatively comfortable, but if I tried to sleep more than 8 hours I started to get some slight side pain (I sleep on my side). Looking at all the good reviews from this memory foam mattress, I decided to try it. Well, I think I now have a new problem now - I sleep almost too much, I don't want to get out of bed. Its almost too comfortable! My sleep has never been sounder and longer lasting than since I bought this mattress. My biggest problem now is trying not too sleep too much!

Pleased beyond my expectations!
from McKinney, TX,  Dec 16, 2009

I read through all the reviews on this and similar mattress toppers before making my final decision. This particular brand sounded so good from what others reported that I thought it fine to take a chance. Besides, as a regularly returning Overstock customer, I know how reliable the customer service is here should I have a problem with the purchase.I had broken a foot a year earlier, and the compensating joint pains and arthritis that developed all over the rest of my body due to my severe decrease in daily motion had become an overwhelming situation. I was beginning to wonder if a gal in her 50s was going to be relegated to a life of pain, no matter how much I worked with therapeutic exercise. The funny thing is, I am a huge believer in proper therapeutic exercise and a certified postural alignment specialist, so I know how to help myself and others who live with many forms of chronic pain due to joint and alignment issues.I had read about the funny smell to the new mattress topper but didn't care. When the topper arrived, I excitedly tore off the protective wrapper and threw it on top of my bed to plump up and air out. The odor was never a problem to me and really did quit by the second day. By dusk, I made up the bed with the new topper and threw myself into it. I kid you not, I imagined I was actually surrounded in a cloud, just like I used to imagine as a child. So I drifted to sleep with all my usual and sundry joint and muscle aches. When I awoke in the morning and got out of bed, what a surprise to find that I didn't have that awful, stiff and achey shuffle to work through for an hour or so before I could really get going with the day. There was no hip pain, no ankle pain. I had to drive for some errands that morning, and I kid you not, the memory of the soothing sensation of that mattress topper was so strongly etched into my senses that I thought there was a cushion behind my back. I had to look behind myself to see if a back cushion had mysteriously appeared without my notice as I stepped into the car.The chronic severity of my joint and muscle aches has not returned after that first night. It's been years since I was remotely interested in staying in bed for more than a few hours at a time because my body aches would demand that I get up and move. Now I have to force myself to leave the bed, it feels so good. I think I'll enjoy the extra cloud time for a bit longer. I'm due.I raved about my experience with this product to my elderly parents, who immediately asked me to put in an order for their own bed. They too report they have experienced a high degree of immediate body ache relief. Now I'm watching to learn how long this topper's qualities will last.

It's not bad for the price, but not as advertised
from Washington State,  Oct 23, 2009

It's a deal, that's why I bought it for a 3" inch memory foam topper. But that is deceiving like some people have stated on here. I have used a 1.5" memory foam topper from a big-chain store that cost me around $80 and that was a pretty good deal then, and that was comfortable. So I was excited to get 3 full inches, plus egg foam. First off, the MEMORY part is not the quality of memory foam I've had in the past, I wouldn't even call it "memory foam". It's a step up from a regular egg foam (regular foam) mattress topper, but a few steps down from "memory foam". It IS comfortable, and is slightly more comfortable than my 1.5" memory foam topper I have. It is NOT 3", more like 2" or less, and when you lay on it, it squishes down even further. They must be measuring from the highest peak to the bottom and even then...overall decent mattress topper. The SMELL IS RIDICULOUS until it airs out (gag) and gives me allergies. It's aired out a bit now. Overall, I'm not sure if I would or would not purchase it again, I think it's worth more in the under $40 range. Good for a guest room, good for teen beds. My husband thinks it's comfy, I just wanted a little more (another inch or so) and more "memory" to it.

Terrific mattress topper!
from NW Washington State,  Sep 23, 2007

After reading many customer reviews on other versions offered here at Overstock.com, I finally settled on this one ~ fingers crossed that it would prove thick enough to be as comfortable as everyone else was reporting, yet not so thick as to require new fitted sheets. I'm pleased to report that the topper fits the bed ~ Queen sized ~ perfectly. It unwrapped (and unwound) easily and expanded to it's original shape in less than two hours. Delivery was accomplished in just five days and the topper arrived in perfect condition with just mild odor. After sleeping on it for two nights I am, at this moment, toying with the idea of going to bed two hours early . . . sigh . . . :-)

Bad idea - spend the extra!
from Tampa, FL,  Feb 10, 2008

Prior to this purchase I had purchased the 4" memory foam mattress topper from Overstock. On a scale of 1 to 5 it was a 10! Best purchase I'd ever made. I decided to also buy a topper for the bed sleep I in when visiting my folks and went with the 3" highloft topper instead for the cost savings. Big mistake. It doesn't feel like there is a topper on the bed at all - if anything the highloft (eggshell) makes it more like 1" instead of 3". If you don't have a memory foam mattress or topper - make the investment! But go with the 4" . I have both - would not cut corners again - I didn't save - I wasted money.

I'm 5'9" and 175 lbs. I"ve always preferred a firm mattress with a foam topper. Usually I've been happy with those $19.95 kinds you find around town. If you are reading this, then you already know that the price of this memory foam topper is good. The quality of the foam itself is significantly higher than what I'm used to. The difference is noticible as soon as you lie in bed. I sleep on my sides. The "egg crates" absorb the initial gaps/contours of the body and then the rest of the 3" seems to make me float. It's really cush . . . but not with a hole in the middle as I feared. My arm doesn't fall asleep, I don't toss and turn hardly at all anymore. It is now the best bed I've ever slept in. If you are a mattress topper kind of person, I can't imagine it being any better than this. However, you must beware, the foam is not cut to the size of your mattresses, no matter what size you have. For example, if you have a queen size mattress, which is 60" x 80", the queen size topper is a couple of inches short in the length and width . . . what I did was buy a Cal-King topper and cut it with sissors to fit my queen size mattress. Viola!! Pleasant dreams.

very comfortable
from Nashville, TN,  Sep 15, 2009

After months of waking up with a sore back and even changing mattresses, I finally decided that my mattress was still too firm. I have a nice pillowtop mattress, but still moderately firm. I slept on a bed with a memory foam topper on vacation and no back pain...amazing. I tried a 4" topper, but was too soft. This 3" topper with the eggshell design, which I was a little skeptical about, has been exactly what I needed. No more sore back. The bonus is that the eggshell design seems to be less expensive; I was very happy with the price.

Don't hesitate!
from Los Angeles, CA,  May 13, 2009

Seriously, I'm not an employee or anything but I've been looking at this mattress topper for over one year, contemplating whether or not to get it and if it would be worth it. My mattress is over 15 years old and everyday i had back pain. When I finally decided to get the mattress topper, I figured that if it sucked, at least it would provide some cushion. Oh my goodness, this thing feels so good. There was no strange smell as it rolled out. The first night I slept on it, I woke up feeling great, better than ever. I seriously didn't want to get out of bed. I do need to get new bedsheets to fit the mattress+topper properly. I"ll keep shopping around for that. This is a great buy, get it!

Cheap Product
from Chapel Hill NC,  Dec 11, 2008

The mattress topper is just foam not memory foam, very thin and delicate looking I regret buying it.. This mattress topper came wrapped in a large saran wrap not a sealed bag. The wrapper speaks about the quality.of the product.I have purchased other products. This is the first time ,that I am disappointed in their product.

Great deal!
from Nampa, ID,  Feb 6, 2008

We bought this for an old mattress set that we inherited from our in-laws. It was hard as a rock. We couldn't wait for our mattress topper to get here! And it did, in about 5 days. And it has been WONDERFUL! It's like sleeping on a new bed. It's a great value for the price.

2-sided difference
from Buffalo NY,  Dec 27, 2007

The pad is flat on one side and "peaks and valleys" on the other. Only the peaks are 3 inches. The results in more persistent flattening of the pad in the middle, I have found. Otherwise, it is fine.

Great Buy

I would recommend this mattress topper and even plan to buy another. Very comfortable! Quick delivery! Foam did not have any odor to bother me when opened like many Memory Foam products. Was a great buy!

Only one small problem
from Fairfax, VA,  Dec 22, 2007

I ordered this to go with one of the memory foam mattresses on this site. Overall , the product quality is great for the price. However, it is a couple inches shorter than the mattress in both dimensions. Not a deal breaker, but I do find it a bit annoying each time I put the sheets on. and it gives the bed a "peaked" look. If it were just a tad bigger it would get the fifth star from me.

It's fairly comfortable but it turns yellow after a week and if not careful the material rips apart.

Unlike many other reviewers, my mattress topper arrived in perfect shape, the odor disappeared in a couple hours, it fit the bed fine, and was just as described. Unfortunately, it is much too soft for me; my back hurt from day one and it just got worse until I took it off the bed. I think a three inch topper is too much; go with one or two at the most and you will be fine. I have a one inch on my guest bed and have no problems with that.
