We purchased a new mattress, but found that it was too firm and hard on the hips when sleeping on our sides.. We put the new mattress topper with egg crate side down on the top, under a padded mattress pad. What a difference. Just enough cushioning to get a good night's sleep, but not feeling like it was too soft..

The pad is super! There was very little odor when the package was opened and we let it sit for a couple of days to reshape and to remove any lingering odor, then put it on the bed - it was an amazing difference, both my husband and I were waking up with aches and pains from our mattress and after sleeping on the mattress pad the pains were gone, we both seem to sleep more soundly and wake up less at night. For the price it can't be beat! I will be ordering another pad soon for my daughter's bed.

I have the worst mattress in the world. I could feel the springs poking me in the back every night. I wanted a new mattress, but I figured I'd wait. That's why I chose to get a mattress topper. This one was inexpensive and I had heard great things about Overstock.com. I couldn't believe the price. I was expecting that something might be wrong with it. When I did receive it, it looked perfect and fluffed up within minutes. There was no bad smell at all. I put it on my bed and I was so happily surprised. It made my bed a hundred times better. The only thing I can say that was iffy about this purchase was the shipping. It took longer than I expected, but in the end it was worth the wait. I have never used Overstock.com before, but I will definitely be back.

This is a good topper. I have a not-so-great mattress and this makes a world of difference; it feels great to fall in bed now! I have it with the egg-crate pattern down (so smooth side up) and it feels great. When I flip it over (egg-crate up) I wake up with back pain.It does tend to trap body heat quite a bit, and with two people in bed it gets pretty warm! ;-) It will probably be great in the winter (only had it for a few months now in the hot Chicago summers).BIG TIP!! Get the biggest size! Since they are all the same you can cut it to fit your bed, or double it up and probably feel like you're floating on a cloud! I only got the size I needed; not a smart deal... Oh well!By the way, mine had NO "chemical" smell or whatnot to it, and unrolled itself within a few hours (Twin XL size).

I must say I was not sure if I will like the topper due to the low cost. But I was wrong and what a great buy. I told my friends and family about it. So over they came to see & to try it out and what a great review they gave like I did.When I received it I left it open for a day due to it had a lite scent but went away once I let it air out for a couple of hours. While this is not the best memory foam product that I have ever used, it was ideal for the specific situation: I needed to give new life to a futon without adding too much softness. Anything thicker than this would have been too much, thinner not enough, so this was great. If you want something that gives you the sense of sinking into bed, get something else, something with more thickness or greater degree of density. This is like a cross between egg crate foam and memory foam, which was just what I needed, especially for the price.

The smell was not bad at all and was gone in 24 hr. I ordered the 2” and 3” and liked the 2” better then the 3” the 2” felt denser and was perfect for my back. I gave the 3” pad to my granddaughter her bed was in rough shape. She is extremely happy with the results the pad had on her bed also.

Purchased this for a spare bed with an older, harder mattress. Used it for a few days myself to test it out, and it was great! Cushioned the bed enough to sleep comfortably. Very good deal!

When reading reviews about memory foam mattress pads sold on Overstock.com, I became alarmed by how many stated there was an odor, a chemical smell, that lingered even after air out time. No odor was associated with this product, so I bought it. I purchased a Cal-King as suggested (same price for C-King as twin, which you won't find in department stores), trimmed it to fit a queen, and used the leftovers to make 2 memory foam pillows. I am purchasing another Cal-King for twin dorm bed. It is longer than the twin and xl twin product. I will cut it in half, double it up, and end up with a 4 inch foam pad for the firm dorm bed. Packaging is basic...comes in a plastic bag. No box or fillers. Overall, great product for the price.

The pad came extremely shrinked wrapped in a bag, so I proceeded to unwrap it and let it air out. Now, this is the thing. I let it air out for 4 days. The first day there wasn't any hint of a smell and I was elated. Then the smell started on the 2nd day...after the 4th day, it smelled "ok" and I then placed it in on the bed. EGADS...while sleeping the smell enveloped me.It really stinks!!!! like a strong chemical. I have tried repeatedly to air out but to no avail. I was disappointed because IT does FEEL great but the smell, I've tried lysol but to no avail. Its been 2wks(def not on the bed still airing) and it is OUT, this is not for people with allergles or maybe it is the one I got. Extreme shrink wrap might not be the ticket either, it might keep the smell permeated.

I purchased a cheap mattress trying to save money, bad idea. So I bought this mattress pad and I love it. I can feel it coming up on the sides of me when I sleep. No odor when I opened it and it takes it shape quickly. Great buy!

I was looking for a new bed for my daughters futon and read all the reviews and decided to try this . She loves it and it saved me alot of money. I bought one for myself , a 3 in topper and love it! There is a slight smell when you first open the package but it goes away after airing out for 24-48hrs like the instructions say. At first I didnt really know which side to use I guess it really doesnt matter what ever your preference is.. Still comfy. Im thinking on getting one for my mothers king size bed. Then we can use it when we go to visit! Definately a good purchase! thanks

My husband is very picky when it comes to our bedding, but he love the mattress pad. You just sink into bed and I really enjoy it!!!

Was not what I expected or purchased in the past in the way of memory foam. More of just a highend eggcrate. Not what I wanted for memory foam. Just okay. Would I buy again. No.

This mattress topper has been wonderul! A true life saver. Took less than a day to air out. I would constantly wake up in the middle of the night to change into a more comfortable position. But now, I've been sleeping through the night since I got it. I highly recommend it to all!

I bought one for each of my 3 children and one of the 3" my husband and I - you can tell a huge difference in the inch as far a comfort. Good for the Value. It's definely worth the money for a quick fix but, I can see myself upgrading to a more expensive one because I love the feel and already have a memory foam pillowtop that is about 8 years old so we just needed a RENEWED feel. ALL 4 of these fit PERFECT on the bed so, I'm sure the other reviews concerning the size might be defects.
