Was very pleased with this comforter when it arrived. It is super soft, cozy and warm. After using it for about a month I noticed what appeared to be lose strings everywhere. Turns out it is the silk seeping through. Furthermore, the outer shell is starting to form little fuzz balls like a worn in fleece would. I do not have pets or children and still this is happening. Feel and comfort is great but it is not holding up well. For the price it is a big waste of money.
When properly used and cared for, our silk insulation will stay securely inside the casing but also like down comforters, vigorous use as well as improper care may result in openings being created around the case which may in turn result in possible insulation leaking out of the case. Fortunately, our insulation is completely hypoallergenic. We encourage you to case this comforter with the corresponding Chrysalife Duvet Cover for best use.
This is the most beautiful and well presented comforter I have ever seen and the price is amazing! The quality is outstanding! I have been buying comforters for my family for over 40 years and I can truthfully say this is the best ever! I will be pleased to order from this vendor again! Thank you Overstock!
I am a loyal Overstock customer. However, this was a very disappointing item. I already have a chinese silk comforter (purchased on O.co) and wanted a second one for my second bedroom. This one comes no where near the thickness and warmth of my first comforter and it was twice the price. There was also several pieces of human hair on the comforter when we opened it. Couldn't be ours since neither one of us has straight black hair. The piece definitely looked used and the fabric looked aged in some areas and not as white. This is definitely being returned.
As the manufacturer, I can assure you if a person's hair was actually folded up in the comforter during packaging, this was a first occurrence and steps have been taken at the factory to make sure this does not happen again. With hand made products and hand packaging, these things can happen but it certainly does not make the comforter defective, and hair nets worn in the packaging department should eliminate this if in fact a hair was found in one of our comforter bags.
