Rough, cheap feeling texture
I purchased this because the color seemed like it might work with some of the new decor I got in my bedroom. I knew it was a gamble because colors on the computer monitor don't always match up to actual color. I figured for the price why not. I received it and it's definitely more of a Barney purple than an eggplant. Also I was surprised at how stiff and cheap the material was, the quality was just really bad. I ended up putting it in a duvet cover figuring I wouldn't waste my money and I'd get some use even after washing and in the duvet it's still very stiff and uncooperative. This is still uncomfortable even though the duvet does put a barrier between myself both bad sides of this comforter, the slippery yet rough fake satin side and the sand paper feeling outside. I'd just pass on this even if it is inexpensive.

Nice Comforter
I was impressed with the set I purchased. I had been looking for something in this color that would be easy to keep clean with pets and the shiny material is super easy to clean and it washes EXTREMELY Well. The Only issue i have its its a little slick and likes to go sliding off the bed =-)

A little rough, but the perfect color!
I had been looking for a comforter this color to match a valance in the room (funny how you find one piece and then spend waaaay too much time trying to match the rest to it, right?). Well finding a "plain" plum colored comforter was a lot more challenging than I had expected. Most comforters in plum are a but too fussy for me...this was a nice simple box stitch pattern, which was all I wanted. Like others on here, I was a bit disappointed in the "feel" of the fabric, but since we always use a top sheet, its really not a big deal (don't most people use top sheets???) as its not directly against your skin at night. While I usually only buy 100% cotton, this was the exact color I wanted -- and it looks nice on the bed. Thick, and warm during the winter months, which is what you are after in the end! My one complaint is that the polyester slides right off the bed sheets (which reminds me why I usually buy all cotton!). In fact, I've ended up flipping it over so the shiny side is down and the 50/50 polyester cotton side is what's on top. In the end, I love the look and I am extra warm on those cold winter nights! And that's what its really all about, right?

The material is ugly and the comforter is not pleasant against your skin. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

SET WAS INCOMPLETE. IT CONTAINED FULL SIZE PILLOW SHAMS WITH A KING SIZE COMFORTER. THE COLOR AND FABRIC WAS CORRECT AND A GOOD MATCH .

Very dissapointed
I cannot believe that Overstock is selling this comforter set. I know that it was very inexpensive, but this set is extremely cheap. It is not even worth the price that it is selling for. One side feels like sand paper and the other side feels like a cheap sleeping bag. Although, I don't think that the color looks like Barney purple. This is my first unhappy purchase from Overstock. Save your money and pick something else. I still love Overstock.com!
