the description says silver, but it looks blue. the reviews state that it is more white...what color is the silver comforter?
I have a King Size bed and purchased this comforter from a store for myself. The one that I purchased at a store is "London Fog". The store where I bought mine no longer carried it. So I decided to do a search on the internet to find this comforter so I can get one each for my 2 daughters because they love mine so much and won't get off my bed. LOL. So after I did a search I very was happy to find that Overstock.com had this same comforter, same color but not the "London Fog" name. I really couldn't find it anywhere else so I decided to purchase it. It's incredibly soft just like mine. The only problem I have with the 2 that I purchased from Overstock.com it is that they did not come with shams. Very disappointing. If it came with shams, then I would have given this 5 star rating. For the price that I paid for the 2 of them, I think shams really should have been included. The set I purchased from the store not only came with 2 shams but was way cheaper then the Overstck.com price and that is pretty incredible since my set is a KING size and the ones I purchased from Overstock.com were only FULL size. However, it's ok, my daughters will survive not having shams but they feel their bed is no complete without the shams. Anyway, for a true test of the quality of this comforter will be when it's washed. I have washed mine so far twice. And honestly being London Fog, it's holding up ok but I can tell that it is no longer as soft as it was when I purchased it and now I find myself laying in my daughters beds because their comforter is now softer than mine! For now.... I hope when we wash them that they remain just as soft. BUT I GUESS WE WILL SEE......... :o)...

I had one just like this from London Fog that got ruined. I was excited when I found this as I thought it was the same as my old one. It isn't quite as good as the London Fog one was, but it is still good quality, warm, and super soft!Read More
I love this comforter. However I do wish it can with some pillow shams.Read More
I love this quilt. its so soft. looks good but feels even betterRead More
I ordered the tan and received it quickly. I ordered the comforter as a blanket for the foot of the bed. It is very light weight and feels very soft like faux fur. the comforter was described as 90" by 90" for a queen however, the package said 86"x86". Using it as a blanket on my queen sized bed this works for me, but, if I were wanting it as a comforter bed dressing it would not have come down on the sides as I would want and would be 4 inches shorter than stated on line. So if buying this please keep it in mind. I told Overstock about this but it has not been changes here in the on line ad. I like it for what I ordered it for so I am happy with the purchase.Read More
I ordered this in "tan". The first time, it arrived as white with black undertones. I sent it back for the proper one, featured with a photo of a solid-color (not "two-tone") tan faux mink comforter. The second time, it arrived as mostly white with tan undertones, all the while I thought from the photo that I ordered a "tan" comforter. So if you are ordering this from the photo, be aware that the photo does not represent what you actually get. What you get is white, with small bits of tan.Read More
I have already bought three of these comforters. For different daughters and myself. They feel and look so good and have gotten several compliments from friends. If you want something soft cuddly and looks unique this is your comforter.Read More
The color of the comforter is completely different from the picture. It appears almost totally white not blue. Overstock.com however, was understanding and cooperative and gave me a full refund...that said, it would have been easier if the picture more closely resemembled the product.Read More

Best Down Alternative Comforters For Winter
When winter arrives, many people turn to down alternative comforters to keep warm. What's the difference between down alternative and down? Down alternative comforters are filled with natural or synthetic materials, while down comforters are filled with goose or duck down. Here are the best down alternative comforters for winter.
Down Comforters vs Alternative Down Comforters
A good comforter is an essential item for any comfortable bed. Down comforters are an especially popular type of comforter in many homes, though down alternative comforters offer many benefits for allergy sufferers. Although both offer durability and warmth, there may be some debate between down comforters versus alternative down comforters concerning which one is right for you. When choosing a comforter, consider factors such as cost, warmth, and aesthetic appeal to help you make the right selection.
Down Comforter Buying Guide
Down is renowned for its softness, warmth and lightness of weight, which makes down comforters, also known as duvets, some of the warmest, lightest kinds of bedding available. Those who have experienced the supreme pleasure of sleeping with a down comforter seldom want to use any other kind. Whichever kind of down bedding you choose -- a down featherbed, a duvet, down pillows or a down blanket -- from our bedding and bath store, you can rest easy knowing you have chosen to buy the finest in luxury bedding. In this down buying guide you will find information on how to buy down comforters and choose the right down bedding for your home.
How to Buy a Down Comforter
Two major considerations when purchasing a down comforter are content and construction. The Federal Trade Commission has standards set that specify labeling procedures for products that contain down. If the label of a down comforter reads 100 percent down, the comforter must contain down feathers exclusively. The same is true if the label reads pure down or all down. Most down comforters are made with goose down, but some may include down feathers from other species of fowl. Look below to learn how to buy a down comforter.
How to Choose Down Comforters on Sale
Down comforters are popular choices for bedding because they provide thick and soft covering as you sleep. Down is a soft layer of fluff that lies directly underneath the feathers of most birds. Down comforters help keep you warm during colder months without letting you get overheated. Luckily, it's possible to find down comforters on sale when you know what to look for. Look below to learn how to choose down comforters on sale.
Best Fills for Down Comforters
Warm and incredibly soft, down comforters are the height of luxurious bedding. Like all other bedding, down comforters can range from inexpensive to costly. The proof is in the filling. Inexpensive down comforters are filled with a combination of down and polyester or down and feathers. The best down comforters, which are usually also the most expensive, are full of pure, thick down. Take a look below to learn the best fills for down comforters. Hungarian goose down: Hungarian goose down is considered the most luxurious type of down. These extreme cold-weather birds have very thick, almost odorless tufts of down at the base of their feathers. This heavy, long-lasting down is most often used in comforters with a fill rating of 800, which means they can keep a person warm even in cold conditions. Eiderdown: Eiderdown is harvested by hand from the abandoned nests of Eider ducks, which pluck the down from their own backs and use it to cover their eggs. Eider ducks live in cold climates, so their down is thick and heavy. It is used in high-quality comforters with a fill rating of between 700 and 800. Eider duck down is the only type of duck down used in high-quality comforters. All other duck down is usually considered too smelly (and some duck down has tiny barbs) and is used in much less expensive comforters. Grey and white goose down: Grey goose down is used in dark comforters due it its grey color, but it is the same as white goose down in all other ways. Grey and white goose down, which is usually harvested from European or Chinese geese, is the most popular type of down used in middle-price-range pure down comforters. These comforters usually have a fill rating of 600 and above. Hypodown: Hypodown is a mixture of white goose down and milkweed. This all-natural filling is hypoallergenic and much more durable than pure down comforters. While pure down is still considered to be the preferable fill for comforters by most people, hypodown is gaining popularity with consumers who want a longer lasting product without synthetic fills.
