    • Terrible shedding problem

      Be forewarned: This comforter has a serious shedding problem. Although I use a duvet cover, there is constant leakage of feathers, down, and dust particles from the comforter seams and through the fabric itself. As another reviewer has also noted, this material ends up coating everything on and around the bed, causing a highly dusty and allergenic environment. I now have to invest in a zippered comforter case to contain this leakage; king-size duvet encasements run anywhere from $80 to $250 for allergy-proof material. While the comforter is of a good weight and very warm, I definitely would *not* recommend making this purchase -- unless you happen to like living in a henhouse.

    • Not true baffle construction!!! Open baffles.

      I got this comforter because the description says end-to-end baffle box construction. Well, it does NOT have end-to-end baffles. It has only partial baffles, which means each baffle box has a 2-3 inch opening. All the openings line up, allowing the down to shift (and thus shift down to the edges of the comforter). I bought this because I currently have a (better and cheaper) comforter from lnt, that has higher fill power and hungarian goose down, but that also only has partial baffles. This means a couple times a week we have to shake it up to get the down to move back to the middle of the comforter. SO, I bought the Buckingham set to prevent this issue, but it has the same problem! I cannot speak to its fluff power because as soon as I checked the baffles, back into the box it went. The fabric is pretty and the pillows are soft and fluffy, but flatten easily. To O's credit, their customer service was amazing, and they sent me a prepaid shipping label to return it, and said they would change the baffle box description, since its incorrect, but I see it still has not changed. I love the O and this comforter could be great if you don't mind partial baffles, but be aware this is what you will get.

    • Nice not Great

      I have been looking for the perfect comforter and finally decided to try this one after reading the positive reviews. Maybe I did not get the same comforter as some of the other people who reviewed this item, but I did not find this thick or fluffy. It was thin but I thought it is fine for the warmer months. It is soft and the fabric quality seems nice so I will keep it. It's a nice purchase but not a great one.

    • Feathers Everywhere

      Warm enough. Feel and consistency is good. HOWEVER, since day 1 there are little feather pieces everywhere. The low threadcount lets everything through, and even with a 400TC duvet the feathers would find their way out. Thousands of little feather particles sticking to everything. Eventually bought a 600TC duvet cover which keeps everything in but only after affixing 30 snaps along the opening to keep it pretty shut. We still use, but its an absolute must to go outside to change out the duvet since all the built up feathers are just sitting there waiting to float away.

      This is a HUGE bargain - if you are in the market for a down comforter, you would be remiss to not get in on this deal! The quality is amazing - it has great loft, is well made, and so so warm. This is the third down comforter I have bought in my life - and by far the best. And it was the best deal for my money!

    • GREAT comfortor

      This is an awesome comforter. We use it in our duvet cover. The only complaint we have is that it is very warm & my husband especially is very warm natured. We live in South Texas so I will probably end up having to get a lighter one for the hot months Iwhich is the majority of the year) but it has been nice now that "winter" has set in. Great comforter & amazingly soft! I definitely recommend it.

    • DIFFERENT THAN ORDERD BUT I KEPT IT

      My First purchase with O.CO and was shipped with a different comforter all down than what I ordered. We discussed and came to a resolution. This was not as full of fill power as I has wanted but was nice anyway. The stripe that was not on the original purchase was pretty so that did not matter. The Thread count was ok and not a big issue and as it fluffed up after a few days got to be better. The pillows were awful and they sent me replacements so I kept it and it's just fine and the replacement pillows are much more full, not a flat pancake. So all in all it's a great buy for what it is and I am a down nut who just won't sleep without an all down comforter. They are so important to a nice cuddly sleep. Also no leaking of feathers or down as some people say. No odor at all. I don't even have a duvet cover on it yet since it is pretty just as it is in white. GREAT PRICE TOO. Am enjoying my new goose down comphy comforter each night and thank O.co for the superb customer service on an otherwise unfortunate situation. Will continue to buy more as I have been ever since.

    • Lovely and sooo warm

      I purchased this prior to 2003, don't recall exactly when and it's been sooo warm in the winter, Northern California. Sometimes, I have to kick it off during the night and definitely have to put it away for the summer. No smell and it's just soft, cuddly and warm. The baffles do seem somehow open because there is some shifting with the down, so I do find it necessary to shake it once in awhile or flip it over to keep the down evenly distributed, but not a problem. During the cold weather I really look forward to getting into bed with this in place because I know it will only be a couple of minutes and then I'm toasty warm for the night! I would definitely recommend this comforter.
