I have purchased many different brands of mattress toppers over the years from Overstock. Although I was happy with them, none have compared to this brand! I LOVE it! From the first night it conformed to my body like none of the others...I suffer from a full body whiplash from a plane incident and suffer from chronic pain. I also have fibromyalgia, and arthritis. I'm only 45 but with this I wake in the morning and am not hurting in any way! It's really wonderful! I hope Overstock will continue to keep this item in stock because I am moving and plan to buy more:)There is always an odor with this type of item and it took about a week to dissipate. After that, it was fine .I highly recommend it for anyone who suffers from pain or not. You can't lose with this item. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!
** This Bodipedic 3-inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper has given me the best sleep that I can ever remember experiencing (58 years worth). ** --------------------------------------------
I now sleep straight thru the night.--------------------------------------------
I have an older mattress that I turn and/or flip periodically. The padding under the cover material is quite worn and has begun to shift. Rather than buy a new mattress (?? what kind to buy ??) I decided to try a memory foam topper. Actually, I stumbled into this idea while checking out sheet sets at an online retail store ... I had never before /heard/ of a mattress topper.--------------------------------------------
A Google search brought me to Overstock. After reading the reviews and studying the offerings, I selected this 3" BodiPedic product (queen size) ... the included Cover sealed the deal. My old mattress is only ~6" deep so I figured that newer-style fitted sheets would work with the 3" Topper added ... and I was correct. O'course, my older-style shallower-mattress fitted sheets will no longer work.--------------------------------------------
The Topper comes COMPRESSED(!), folded and rolled ... looks like a big, tall cinnamon roll. As directed, I laid it out on the living room carpet and gave it time to return to its normal shape. That did not take as long as the instructions suggested ... only a few hours in my case and that was in a relatively chilly room (~63°F). I had the ceiling fan on to help dispel the smell about which I had read. The smell was neither disagreeable nor strong but it was noticeable. Now that I have had the Topper on my bed for 2 weeks the aroma is almost completely gone.--------------------------------------------
The Topper is perfectly sized for my bed.--------------------------------------------
The Cover is WONderful. I expected something like a simple heavy fitted sheet and was surprised & delighted to find that this Cover has a zippered pocket in the top for the Topper. Excellent!
One thing that concerned me was the idea of trying to roll over and finding myself in a memory foam hole. While the Topper was still on the living room floor, after it had finished "replumping", I lay on the bare foam to test it for this aspect ... and found it hard to roll out of the hole that developed. --------------------------------------------
On the bed, however, I have found that this is NOT a problem ... the key to this is how many layers of sheets are between you and the foam. I currently have 3; the cover, an extra flat sheet and the fitted flannel sheet ... and the "hole-effect issue" has been solved for me. I imagine the less of the "hole-effect" that you prefer, the more sheet-layers you should add, and vice versa. I may find that I need to add another flat sheet when Spring arrives and I swap out the thicker flannel for percale.--------------------------------------------
This is one of the best purchases that I have made in a long time.
This is not the first memory foam topper I have purchased, so I expected an initial odor. The smell from this topper however, is very, very strong. We could not even keep it inside the house and have now had it outside in our screen room for over 2 days, fan running, room vented ... You can still smell it as soon as you walk out there. Sleeping on it is out of the question. We bought this for our son and are not planning on using it unless the odor is drastically reduced. I hope it wasn't a colossal waste of money!
I had slept on a memory foam mattress topper when visiting a friend and found it extremely comfortable so I turned to Overstock to purchase one for myself. The "bodipedic", however moderately priced, was not the quality of the topper I on which I had previously slept. I found it less dense and therefore less supportive. I feel I could have received the same results with a regular mattress topper from *****. Don't waste your money on this one.
Hello! i have been a mattress salesman off and on for 8 years. My current company sells memory foam beds which i was going to purchase with my employee discount but i had been putting it off for some time now. We carry some beds that have less memory foam than this topper does and the bed costs 5x as much.... i don't know how Bodipedic is able to get this foam so cheap but it is not a bad topper at all!! i have noticed, after sleeping on it a month, the foam doesn't seem to be as dense as the ones we carry, but for the price this topper is GOLD! i also like that it is 60 x 80 inches, standard queen size....not 57 x 77 like some of the other toppers i found on here. Nice fit. Nice feel. GREAT price. Essentially the same foam you will find in the high priced beds!
I've been having difficulty sleeping on the mattress that I have currently - it's got a bit of a sag in the middle making it difficult to get comfortable. I bought this mattress topper to add some firmness and to take away some of the sag in the mattress. It's made sleeping more comfortable which was the priority; however, it does not make the mattress more firm as I had hoped it might. It has some firmness which was needed.
For many years I was sleeping on a very firm mattress. In the morning , I would awaken with a painful shoulder and hip.
In December2013 , I injured a disk in my spine.
My orthopedic doctor recommended a mattress toper.
My daughters researched mattress toppers and decided that the 3" Bodipedic with a cover was the best choice.
It is so great, that I look forward to lying on it.
No more pains.
I can sleep up to 9 hours without moving.
It took a back injury to introduce me to Bodipedic
All gain---no pain
I was surprised how fast Overstock shipped it.
I purchased 2 of these toppers 3/11/2011 after reading a lot of good reviews put one on bed on our master bedroom bed which we sleep on every night great topper but after almost 3 years it started showing body indentions which I feel is normal. my Wife had back problems and it helped, purchased another one on 1/8/2014 this one is already showing indentions. we noticed when we opened it the texture looked different after it is opened overstock is not responsible any longer.
Hi karibloom, this can definitely be added onto a pillow top mattress. You may want to find out how thick the pillow top is as the pocket on the cover is 15 inches. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 22, 2014
Putting this on a pillow top mattress created the most comfortable bed I have ever know. You will need deep pocket fitted sheets though.jessama on Feb 2, 2014
You can, but beware - you need a very Deep Pocket Fitted sheet. My mattress with this topper requires 21 inch pockets to fit propery1purplepansy on Feb 9, 2014
Is this topper heat sensitive? I have had 2 other 3" from overstock over the past 10yrs and they weren't...so they were always soft and comfortable, but I bought the serta 4" 1-1/2 yrs ago and it being heat sensitive is dine in the summer because it's soft(we don't use a/c) but in the winter it is hard as a rock (we heat with wood ans its normally 50-60 in our bedroom ita like sleeping in a rick, by back hurts and my arms fall asleep, I want to go back to my old 3" but in no way want another heat sensitive one,ever..its terrible..so hard when it shifts you can just push on tje bottom of it at the foot of the bed hard a fee times and it moves back up tp the top...i can't do another hard one.amandahs on Jan 13, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello amandahs, from reading the reviews it does not look like this is heat sensitive. Seems like everyone loved this topper. Have a great day! overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 14, 2014
I love this topper and haven't had any issue with it being to hot or too cold. Like Goldilocks; it's just right!1purplepansy on Feb 9, 2014
Oh heck yes, it is heat sensitive. I had to move mine out to the garage a few weeks ago because my cat - well let's just say he had an accident (he's on restriction at the moment); it got stiff as a board after about four hours in the garage. I wanted to roll it up to take it to the dump and could not budge it. Of course the garage is not heated; if I had to guess I would say it was about 45 degrees in there. Hope this helps. I am by no means an expert but I think all the memory foam items may have this problem. I loved this topper, though, and never had any problems at night when it was on the bed (I keep the thermostat on 67 at night). In fact, I ordered another one immediately. Why don't you think about putting an electric blanket under (or even over) the topper. Keep it on low heat.searsl on Feb 27, 2014
We have a queen bed and I want to purchase a topper for my side of the bed only. My husband loves our mattress but it is too hard for me. Will a twin topper work on my side of the bed?winter82 on Dec 24, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello winter82, a twin size topper would be to large. A twin would be half of a king size mattress. You could cut the topper but that might make the item defective. Thank you for shopping with us! overstockcustomercare1 on Dec 26, 2013
Try a cheaper eggshell topper available at big box stores. You can get a twin size for $15-20. That way if you need to cut it to fit, you won't be out that much money.friendlygardens on Dec 31, 2013
I agree with the other commenter. This would be much to big and much to high. Would look awful on the bed.dusty48 on Jan 1, 2014
Good idea to buy a cheaper one first and cut it. Then if that works and you don't mind a lopsided bed, invest in a better quality topper (this one is fantastic).searsl on Feb 27, 2014
is the cover only for the Memory Foam Mattress Topper or for both mattress and topper ?doan13 on Oct 11, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello doan13, This topper looks so comfortable! The cover has a 15-inch pocket depth, so depending on your mattress depth, it could fit on the mattress and topper. I hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Oct 18, 2013
Its for both the mattress and the topper. Has very deep corners.tresa12 on Nov 16, 2013
I've had it 2 years and it is still like new. The cover is very deep and easily fits over the mattress and stays on. I bought the Tuffguard velour anti microbial waterproof mattress pad which I put order all of it. Love the whole thing and highly recommend the added protection of the Tuffguard (all from The O).kat1121 on Nov 24, 2013
Is this all viscose memory foam ,. My other biopedic were but it said they were . this one doesn't say that. please advisehannakaren on Jan 3, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
This a a great topper, only problem is the topper keeps slowly creeping down the mattress over a couple of days and find it down the bed and takes two people to pull it back up to the top of the mattress. ( because it is a queen size, and they are big and awkward size for 1 person ) Anyone else have this problem with topper sliding down ? Solutions ? Using the mattress topper cover provided under the sheets too.coffeebrk on Jan 5, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The topper should stay put if it is placed under first, the fitted sheet, then the mattress cover and then the foam topper cover. Another suggestion would be to buy the stretchy straps from a craft store and sew under each of the corners and strap it to the mattress.overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 9, 2012
Every morning I find that my Queen Size topper has shifted down the bed, perhaps, 1/2 inch. My solution is to pull it back up every morning when I make the bed.
Easy, single-person solution. As I get out of bed on the left, I, by habit now, grab the topper and pull it up. When I walk to the right side of the bed to replace the pillow prior to sorting the sheet/blanket/comforter, I grab the topper and pull it up. Done, topper tight against the headboard.
O'course, if you fail to make-up the bed for several days, I suppose the daily "creep factors" can add up.model1952 on Jan 4, 2013
