Great Product
from Wheaton, IL,  Mar 27, 2007

I love our new warming blanket. It is everything that you advertised and more. The fabric quality is better than I anticipated, much lighter than our old blanket, making it lighter on top of us at night. The dials are user friendly and very efficient. The appearance of the light weight blanket it smooth and easy to make the bed daily. I highly recommend this product.

electric blanket
from New Jersey,  Sep 1, 2006

The blanket was available in all sizes and about 6 colors. I received it in about one week. The blanket is a king size and it has two seperate plugs, one for each side, which is very convenient. The blanket is soft and works well. I ordered another one 2 weeks later. That blanket was just as nice. I would use Overstocked.com again.

Do NOT Buy!
from Austin, TX,  Nov 17, 2006

Bought two of these and put them on the beds and kept getting an error message most of the time. This is because the blankets are super sensitive and will shut off if you have another blanket over them or if the cords get pressure. So obsessed with safety it's impossible for the blankets to work. I did get them to stay on for 10 minutes and the high setting wasn't even warm... then of course someone sat on it and it went to error. Ridiculous waste. I returned asap. Please to not buy this product, you will be so disappointed as was my whole family.

Looks better than it is! Not worth it!
from Marion, NC,  Sep 5, 2006

This blanket arrived looking just fine and was very soft. Unfortunately, I had to wash it within 2 days of it being on my bed. I washed it according to the instructions, which I was disappointed to see involved drying for only 5 minutes on delicate, then air drying. Ever try to air dry a king size blanket? After washing and drying per the instructions, I discovered a small hole unraveling in the middle of the blanket and two seams at the bottom of the blanket were also unraveling. When I looked into returning it, Overstock said my time had run out, it's still only been 2 weeks. I can't find anything that says it's not part of the 30 day return policy. Whether it is, or not, this is no deal. It's good until the first wash. Look for a Sunbeam product.

always get an E
from Jenner, CA,  Nov 13, 2006

I bought 2 of these blankets in March, and both get an error code more often than not. It is really frustrating, not to mention cold with no electric blanket at night. Wish I would have read all of these comments before I bought.

Very soft, but thin
 from Pennsylvania,  Sep 30, 2006

I bought 2 blankets, queen sage for my bed, twin wedgewood for my son's bed. I was hoping the wedgewwod would be a shade of blue - but it is more like lavender really. Both blankets work, but they don't get very warm. I started mine on setting of "2", the setting I often used just to take the chill off with my old electric blanket, and came back after 30 minutes, felt nothing. Now I know not to bother with setting less than "7". These are also very sensitve to being rumpled - blanket must lie completely flat & uncovered or you get an error code on the controller.

Displeased with function
from Lincoln CA,  Dec 4, 2006

This products warms well, but instructions for use are not practical. The instuctions say not to lay any blankets or comforters over the top of the heating blanket, a common practice than most of us will do. If the blanket is layed under the mattress cover or in between blankets or sheets, an "E" message will appear on the controller meaning the unit has turned off for safety reasons. This unit is a good quality but not of user friendly design.

Still Cold in NC
from Durham, NC,  Dec 5, 2006

Much to my dismay this product doesn't work very well. One side works perfectly, while the other doesn't work at all. There is an "E" that appears whenever you turn on the non-working side. So if you want to waste your money, then this is the item for you.

Electric blanket
 Nov 6, 2006

If it wasn't for the lack of heat, I would strongly recommend the purchase of this blanket. The fabric, comfort and quality are good. However, even at the highest setting, the bed does not get warm enough to take away the evening's chill. And the other night, one of the two heating controls no longer stays on.

great product love it
Anonymous  from Globe, Arizona,  Jan 12, 2007

I read all the reviews before buying the blanket.Decided to go with the blanket. works wonderful. All you have to do is follow the instructions. Have never had to set higher than 5 to warm bed and then turn down the temp. I believe that most problems people are reporting is a failure to follow instructions. I use it under the top blanket Due to the temperature never having to be turned up above the mid temp range. When all else fails read the instructions. This is a good product and I Srongly recomend it.

crummy blanket
from louisville kentucky,  Oct 26, 2006

This is the first thing I ever got from Overstock that is poor poor quality. I have used it for about three weeks and assume I cant send back but I kept trying to give it a chance. The blanket is so thin, it is not much thicker than a couple of topsheets. The controls constantly will read "E" which i guess means error and then the blanket is not heating and takes a good while to be able to get clear of that"E" and be able to program back on. The heat is adequate but the fact that it is so thin and the controls so often error out, it is not a good buy.:

Electric Blanket Review
from Birmingham, AL,  Oct 9, 2006

I had high hopes for this blanket. The wires are thick for the thin fabric. The control makes a high clicking sound and could wake up someone else in the bed. Most of all the blanket doesn't warm accurately. I put a throw over it and it became warmer, but that is not reccommended and could be dangerous. I am returning it.

Beautyrest electric blanket
 from NC,  Oct 9, 2006

This blanket malfuntioned the first time I plugged it in right out of the package. The readout on the temp control said "error". I sent the blanket back and reordered the same one. The same thing happened with the second blanket. I did not reorder a third one.

doesn't work.
from Syracuse, NY,  Sep 28, 2006

The item simply doesn't work. I received one and found that the electronic read-out reads ¿Error,¿ right out of the box. I returned it and received a second one¿same result. This product should not be on the market.

Not a great value
from Little Rock, AR,  Sep 7, 2006

I ordered my electric blanket based on the cotton fabric and Beautyrest name. The fabric is thin and there isn't enough fabric over the electric wires in the blanket. The plug-ins are cheap and don't have any locking system to hold them in. Also, my last electric blanket could be tucked in and covered with a comforter and the Beautyrest says not to do either. The controls are very big and bulky. I am not happy with the overall quality of this blanket.

Doesn't work
from Aloha, OR,  Sep 24, 2007

Having read the other reviews, I set up the blanket on the bed and tested it. After an hour, the control warmed up, but the blanket stayed cold -- no warming whatsoever.

Doesn't get warm enough
 from California,  Feb 26, 2007

Highly disappointed with this blanket. When I turn up the blanket past 8 on the dial it always trips off. On 8 it just doesn't get warm enough for the cold nights. I like to use it to warm up my bed before I get in it but it barely does that. If I sleep with it on all night long then it is warmer in the morning. And since I bought it a couple of months before I actually needed it it was too late to return. Don't recommend this one.

Works like it is supposed to
from Denver, Colorado,  Feb 23, 2007

Our last electric blanket warmed Mr. Weaver and I for about ten winters before it finally stopped working, so we are not new to this kind of blanket. We bought the ivory-colored queen-sized Beautyrest. It has two controls so Mr. Weaver can set his own temperature preferences. The blanket fabric is very soft; it is woven from 80% cotton/20%polyester, so it doesn't feel "squeeky" like our last all-polyester blanket. It is a little shorter than our last blanket however, so the end does not tuck unto the foot of the mattress, but the directions say not to do that anyway. The directions also say not to put anything on top of it, but we have always had a light quilt over the electric blanket to keep the heat in. Just be very, very careful if you do this. And follow other directions such as not using it on children, disabled, or elderly, because this blanket does get hot. We turned it on to 10 (the highest setting) before we went to bed was nice and warm. Mr. Weaver turns his off at that point, but I like to keep my side warming all night. First I turned it down to 5 and it was still too warm, so I turned it down to 2 and fell asleep. By morning, I was cold, so the next night I kept it at 3 all night and it was perfect. We did not have any problems with the digital controls. During setup, the control's plugs were hard to push into the blanets, but once they are in, you don't have to do it again unless you wash the blanket (it is hand-washable). The cords were plenty long enough to reach where they needed to go. You must have two available recepticles because each control plugs in separately. Overall, we are very, very pleased with this blanket.

So far, So good
from Omaha, Nebraska,  Jan 13, 2007

I purchased a King size for a Queen bed. Sage color. I had purchased another one made by a different manufacturer. It worked, maybe, a month. So I was a little concerned about this purchase. When I first put it on the bed, I also got the 'E' message, but I am an electronic toy geek and I have to figure out how things work. So, just like a computer, you let it set for a while, come back and check it, and it has worked since. I just can't push all the buttons at once. The blanket is soft, it matches most of my sheet sets and keeps us warm at night. Oh, the other blanket that didn't work, I found out it doesn't like dogs playing with them. Or people playing on them! Would I purchase another one, you bet!

Don't buy!
 Jan 5, 2007

The blanket I received has never worked right. I continue to receive the error code E, and to get out of the loop you have to unplug it from the wall. We all know how hard that is! I've made 4 calls to Beautyrest customer service to have it replaced. They don't call back when they say they will, and I haven't received the replacement they continue to say they are sending. What a waste of money.
