This comforter was perfect. I feel like I am sleeping on clouds. It is well worth more than the price.I am going to purchase one more for my parents because there jealous!
Returned this comforter only because the fill didn't have 'sewn thru construction'. Without this feature, the fill will shift or clump with washings. It looked as though it had partial sewn thru construction. The fabric itself was very nice and it's a moderate warmth comforter. If you want a great synthetic comforter make sure you get the 'sewn thru construction' feather.
I ordered a King size comforter for a queen bed, per the many reviews that mentioned that this comforter was sized too small. Sure enough, it is very small. The King is supposed to be 86 x 102. I did not measure it out of the package, but I noticed it fit our queen size sofa bed perfectly. However, after I washed the comforter, it shrank and is now too small for the queen bed. The after-washed measurements are 79 x 94. The 7 inches that shrank off of the 86 inch side results in a comforter that has no overhang at the foot of the bed whatsoever - it just lies on top of the bed. We also have a full size guest bed - again, the 79 inches is the problem and it just lies on top of the bed. On the full, there is significant overhang on the sides - it almost touches the floor on either side. On the queen, there is a little bit of draping on the sides, but it no longer is perfect as the time before it was washed. It's great that it's machine washable; however, note that the king size doesn't fit in normal washers. I live in an apartment building that has high end side load washing machines that say "extra large commercial washer" on them - I stuffed the comforter in that but there really was no room to agitate - even when wet the comforter still took up every inch of space. The comforter ended up picking up dirt from the random crevices in the washing machine where dirt goes, I guess, and I had to run it again. Then the soap didn't rinse off so I ran the load once more with no detergent. Even though it's machine washable, don't expect to be able to wash it at home effectively. I think you really need one of the real commercial washing machines that I have only seen at wash and fold places - those huge machines that only the launderers operate. At least for the king size comforter. I have mixed feelings about tihs comforter because it is really nice and white and striped and lovely - the fabric feels great and it looks luxurious on a bed. However, the care for a king size comforter isn't as do-it-yourself as I thought it would be, and the shrinking so that there is no drape over the foot of the bed is really disappointing. That is a problem that would happen regardless of the size of bed, since even if you go up in size on the comforter, the bed length measurement (i.e. the 86 inches side of the comforter) doesn't change. I think that I will use this as my extra guest comforter, and my primary guest comforter will be Overstock's "Premier 230 Thread Count Down Blanket" (item 921657), which I have had for years. Though not as thick and fluffy, and nearly twice as expensive, it is easily machine washable and should be similar in warmth because it is real down.
I was worried about ordering this but am so glad I did. It has the sewn through construction. I was afraid it would not because the other review said it did not. It is very well made and very soft, made with great fabric. I washed it before using and it came out of the washer and dryer great with no wrinkle's at all. It also kept me very warm on a very cold night. I love it like sleeping in the clouds and not at all heavy. I would recommend to friends.
This comforter is very thin, I opened it and even let it air out and tried to fluff it up for a few days and it was just as thin as when I pulled it out of the package. I am returning it because I was looking for something fluffy.
The down alternative comforter is pretty enough with the nice stripes and there was no defect or problem with its appearance or function. It is rather flat, though, and not fluffy. So if you are looking for a comforter that lays perfectly flat, it's good. I was hoping for something with a bit more body. It's warm enough I think. The edges seem kind of cheaply sewn. It's not ugly by any means, but it's definitely not exceptional. I'm not going to return it or anything, but I think it is worth about $10-$15 less than the ***** I paid.
The picture definitly makes the product look better than it does. The border was not finished off as nicely as I expected. It is warm and although I had hoped it was as big as my last king size comforter, it will do. We will use it. We needed it. I wouldn't recommend it or buy it again.
Although the exterior of this comforter is soft, the feel of the fill in between is nothing like down. It is more like cotton batting. It is a great thing that this comforter is washable, however, it feels more like something you'd buy that has less expensive cotton batting filler. Somewhat disappointing, but good for kids, I guess.
I've just received the comforter about a few minutes ago. I'm am returning it as soon as possible. It's very thin and extremely flat. Good thing i didn't purchase a duvet because there's no way it will fill up the duvet. I will still use overstock to look for another alternative down comforter. I like their fast shipping.
I can barely believe that I paid so little for such a top-of-the-line comforter. It looks gorgeous, feels luscious, warms toastily, washes and dries perfectly, and is wearing like iron. Lucky me! Thanks a million!
This comforter was such a good buy! I can not believe how little I paid for such a comfortable, cozy product!
This is a great looking, great feeling comforter. Very soft. Shipping was speedy. I am very pleased with my purchase. It does have the sewn through construction, which is important for a down alternative comforter. The sizing seemed to be off, just a little bit on the small side, but that is why i bought a larger size than i needed. I washed and dried it and it came out a little wrinkled, but that doesn't bother me much. One of the reasons that i bought this comforter is because it was machine washable. I don't like the idea of having to go to the dry cleaners every time i want it washed. I would recommend this comforter to anyone.
Not a good value in my opinion. Not at all "fluffy" or cozy. Very flat. The quality is something you can easily find at ***.
I love this comforter. The 100% cotton fabric and 300 thread count help it to stay in place on the bed and that's a big plus with me. I was a bit surprised at how wrinkled it was when I took it out of the package. I guess I could have steamed it, but I just put it on the bed and hope that the wrinkles will go away gradually with use. (My two cats love it too!) My husband and I keep our bedroom slightly cold; we are using the comforter over a sheet and a thermal blanket and that's all we have needed on the coldest nights.
Both my husband and I agree that the weight and size of this comforter are just right. Warm enough for our Canadian winters, but not heavy like real down can be. Bought two of them, one for our city home and one for the cottage. Can't wait to snuggle up in front of the fire under one of these lovely blankets.
Its very soft... and its not too heavy, and not too light in weight. It seems to adjust to your body temperature too... I wish they had it in black... No complaints... at all.
Some people have complained that this down alternative comforter isn't very heavy. However I liked that it wasn't heavy. The thread count is 330 so I wasn't expecting anything heavy, I think its warm and comfortable and its good if you're not looking for a heavy blanket. But if you want a heavy blanket then you should probably look elsewhere.
I purchased this quilt last year at Christmas time. I used it on a guests bed and then sent it home with them after the visit. They were very pleased to receive it and I enjoyed giving it. I purchased another quilt as well as this one recently, this one is definately the nicer quilt. Very soft to the touch and a comfortable weight. The other one will need a duvet cover to make it more acceptable. This quilt however, is lovely and acceptable all on its own. I feel very comfortable recommending this quilt to others. I purchased another king size, very good quality for the price.
I bought this to replace my amazing current alternative down comforter...and this doesn't hold a candle to it. Seeing all the 5 star reviews here, I expected a lot more, but this comforter is sooo thin, it's like two sheets stuck together...and it doesn't fluff up. I'm sending mind back.
This comforter looks like a $200 piece. The cool, crisp, white Damask makes for an elegant appearance. You can use this comforter as is because the 330 thread counts feels like 600 thread count. The Damask striping gives it that special "look". You cannot go wrong with the price of this gorgeous comforter.
