are there any chemicals or fire-retardant in these pillow cases.
Like the color (we bought the green). The feel of these sheets are very soft and comfortable. The only problem is that they tend to stretch the longer they are on the bed and get baggy. Maybe we need to change our sheets more frequently ;-)...

These pillowcases are so soft that they call you to sleep on them.Read More
Super smooth to the touch even right out of the package. It takes a couple of washes, but then it softens up very nicely (but I like my pillow cases to be VERY very soft).Read More
I am quite satisfied with my purchase. You have amazing prices on organic cotton every now and then. I stay on the lookout for that!Read More
The reviews were generally good for this item, yet can't help wondering why. For decades India has produced a cotton that is thin and you can almost count the threads with the naked eye. These pillowcases fit that desciption. Not only is the material poor quality, but the careless manner in which they are sewn together makes them additionally disappointing. Color was gray more than blue, very shiny material, if you like that, which I don't. I don't like heavy material, but fabric that reflexs the weight and quality of childhood memories. These, I thought, at 300 count, would be about right, but they are very thin and have no body at all. I can't say enough against them. Unfortunately, with shipping to and from...I end up paying way too much for receiving nothing. Bah, hum bug!Read More
First, I want to thank the reviewers who complained about how wrinkled these pillowcases get; this is what convinced me to try them. People, you do not want wrinkle-free organic cotton. What is the point of organic cotton if you get toxic poisonous chemical finishes on the material in order to prevent wrinkles??? That being said, these are standard quality pillowcases, not high-end. However, they are a good value and I bought several sets because our pillowcases always wear out way before our sheets do since I change and launder pillowcases more often than the sheets. Also, I like to double-up on the pillowcases to protect the expensive organic pillows. Finally, these came out of the package with NO bad/chemical smell; sometimes you order organic cotton and when you open the package it smells like a chemical factory exploded in there (I return such items right away); there is no such problem with these pillocases and they washed very well.Read More

How to Accent Your Bedding with Pillow Shams
For an easy way to switch up the look of your home, turn to pillow shams the next time you have a home makeover project in mind. Made to fit over bed pillows or accent pillows, decorative pillowcases typically feature an opening in the back or on the side so you can discreetly cover pillows and then take them off easily for washing or sleeping. Besides the standard pillowcases that come with bedding sets and are made to fit bed pillows, you can also find pillow shams in a variety of sizes for unique decorating. Keep reading to learn how to accent your bedding with pillows shams in every size and style.
Best Materials for Shams
One type of bedding that every bed requires is shams. Shams can refer to either the large decorative pillow that frames a made bed or the special pillow cover that encases it. Sham pillows, covers and other pillowcases are essential to keeping your bed a comfortable and clean place to rest, especially if you prefer to sleep on more than one pillow. Decorative shams also add style and class to your bed. Of course, style and comfort are relative, so it's nice to know that shams are available in a variety of materials, styles and colors. If you're shopping for pillowcases but don't know what type will work best for you, don't fret. Keep reading to learn about the best materials for shams.
Bed Sheet Thread Count Fact Sheet
The thread count of bed sheets refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. For example, if a square inch of fabric in a 300-thread count sheet with a standard weave were examined closely, 150 vertical threads and 150 horizontal threads would be counted, for a sum total of 300. The higher the thread count, the softer and smoother the sheets will be. Thread count is an important consideration to take when choosing a new set of sheets, but it should not be used as a sole indicator of quality. Equally important in choosing a bed sheet is the type and quality of the materials used as well as the fabric's weave.
